I may be misinformed, but isn’t what Lima trying to establish more typical of socialist dictatorship societies like North Korea? (While abusing a capitalist system to get it) Societies under socialism have concentration camps, no homeless people because housing is provided by the government. So is health care. People that are deemed “crazy, aka non compliant, are send to labor camps or concentration camps, worst case scenario get executed because they watched a forbidden movie. People aren’t even aloud to think for themselves. Relatives have to spy on each other so there is nobody you can really trust.

I’m also a family member, and my mom was KILLED as a result of decades of forced treatment and forced medication. She died at 46 after being forced into asylums for her whole adult life. Lima is the literal face of carceral mental health.

I was a corporate engineer and I “ENDED UP HOMELESS”. The shit happens to all kinds of people, including ones not on drugs or mental problems. Especially now when housing and inflation has really caused widespread financial issues for a lot of Americans. I am so grateful to you BJ! P.S. Which is why many people refuse to go there - they just don't feel safe. Which is why people often stay on the streets with a group of people they trust. It's crazy to say - Go to this place where you don't feel safe or get placed in an inpatient facility where you can't make your own decisions. Crazy....
This!!! Some homeless people are so used to it that they don't want to get help. That's their choice and their freedom to do so. It causes problems, yes, however nobody should ever be forced to do something unless it is medically necessary for their survival. What reason would someone turn down “help”? In my opinion, there are probably a good amount of situations where the “help” maybe doesn’t come across that way or feel like genuine help to the people its being offered to, so they don’t take it. Some people who are homeless are happier living on the street, which should speak for itself.

I had a terrible opiate addiction (8 years sober now 🥳) and I can tell you 100% that you CANNOT force someone into getting help! It will never work, the addict needs to WANT to get help themselves. So I only got half way through this when I posted my comment, but pretty much knew where it was gonna lead. I've been homeless abused on drugs Everything you can imagine.... Now I'm in college been clean I have my own apartment my own car... The treatment that helped me was compassion. I've been to so many rehabs where they beat me down that just made it worse than I found places that treated me with respect and love and that's when I got better

I’ve been homeless! On & off until I was 19. Slept in parks, back yards, & shelters. I’m a Rape & Domestic Violence Survivor. I was groomed & put under mind control from 5 to 11 years old. While my monster uncle was abusing me my parents were so wrapped up in their drug addiction they didn’t notice. I have PTSD, anxiety, & DID. I’ve went through YEARS of therapy, facing my trauma, & finding Yah. This infuriates me! If I don’t want to talk to people it’s because my anxiety. Just because someone is homeless it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have any rights! Addicts deserve rights! Lima’s mindset is horrifying. She wants to lock everyone up 😂!! Like WHAT?!

Whenever I think back to the time in my life where I had ideation that was dangerous, it brings tears to my eyes & makes me grateful for the happiness I’ve found now. Definitely NOT a joking, laughing matter. I shouldn’t have been locked up when this happened, the situation was only improved when I escaped a 15yr marriage to a narcissist… but according to this person in video, _I_ would have been forced to be medicated/jailed and placed in a “program” to comply with the ideals of others. Disgusting, terrifying rhetoric from someone with deep seeded issues that obviously have not been addressed. I’m so grateful for people like BJ- there is NO EXCUSE for this in a free society!! Our nation fought a tyrant who had ideas like this. My ancestors fled Germany because they were going to be locked away due to the “solution” deemed necessary for Our people (Roma)…gas chambers. My great grandparents had a dairy, were upstanding people who helped their neighbors- but they weren’t “good enough” to EXIST in Hitlers view of society. When they got here, the US, they saved until they got a deli. They slept in the back, on a bed made of potato sacks stuffed with newspapers. Their son, my Opa (grandpa) was a biochemist for the FDA for over FORTY YEARS. He worked on the team that invented the modern nutrition label- a tool that helps almost every person in this country. My uncles and aunts work for big companies- Lockheed, Boeing, Pfizer, American Chemical Society, etc etc…another uncle is a pianist in Chicago. My mom works with special populations in Charlotte NC (disabled, people who were incarcerated, deaf/blind, etc). I recently obtained my paralegal, because this is what speaks to my heart. We would have never existed if the dangerous ideas were allowed to prosper!!
Because of the stigma, I (in the counseling field) have seen it spoke about with a smile of discomfort or to cope with shame. Not that I think this is the case here, just always trying to spread awareness about the harm of the stigma

I became homeless at the age of 19 in Germany and had ZERO drug addiction/use. I had to get out of a toxic home (my parents place), just couldn't take it anymore. I was lucky because someone drove me to the homeless shelter for women where I could literally live and have my own room. There were women there that caused trouble and they got kicked out and weren't allowed back. Some homeless women weren't allowed in the house at all, because they'd start fights and attack people and stuff. In Lima's system, where are those women supposed to go? If they're not allowed in the homeless shelter, then they don't have a choice. And what if they don't have a drug problem? Oh, right: FORCED therapy! That's insane. Any psychotherapist will tell you that forced psychotherapy doesn't work. You have to want it and participate. What an idiot. Noone should have the right to take people's freedom away when they haven't even committed any crimes and there's no evidence that they are going to commit any crimes in the future. I was homeless for about 8 years as a teenager. We were part of a traveling community. We worked some and we lived off the grid and built our own lives it just usually was outside. We didn't want to work to be part of the system. This is a real lifestyle for people. If she tried to do this with these people that i knew there would be mutany. I mean real mutiny. Not only that but her modality of treatment is very controversial. It's not usually even accepted in the therapeutic world because it's so harmful to people. Esp addicts
I have a friend who had to stay at a homeless shelter for a few days and it was more dangerous there than the streets with peoples stuff being stolen and women being assaulted and of course you have to sign paperwork saying they are not responsible for you or your property there. Some are great but some are horrible.

This girl honesty puts a massive fright in me. She may be a danger to others around her. I just wanted to chime in because I myself have been homeless more then once. Not because of drugs. People have money problems and things can be rough. For me my pos mother kicked me out at 17. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and not bother people with your problems and take care of yourself. I'm 29 now and I'm doing ok.. I met the man of my dreams and we've built a nice life together.. I did it all without the help of any programs or professional help..
My mum is from Hungary, they had this exact system in Hungary in the 70s and 80s, homelessness were banned by law, and you had these exact options: shelter or psychiatric hospital. By the way, it was called "communism".

Some people do actually choose to be homeless. I had an uncle that traveled all around the US and even met him a woman and they got married, then traveled together being homeless and when they got a lot older instead of like most folks retiring they just settled down. They were so HAPPY being that way. I always looked forward to his stories.
Me too...I did farm labor, caretaking, lived free at remote hotsprings, in caves, creeks with healthy water...no car, no phone, no tent, no rent ... just went to town for food once a week. Cities are full of trouble. It took tons of therapy to learn to live in the real world again😢

I am so sorry about your father! That is devastating!! My brother died, he was a life long addict, but this time he died and didn't come back. He didn't die from drugs though but from the damage drugs did to his body. I mean, your right girl! Jesus was also technically homeless during his ministry for 3 years. Speaking as a family member of someone who went to one of the best mental facilities available, every family member who thinks it's a good place and every doctor who thinks it's a good solution should have to be admitted against their will into the facility first and then see what their opinion is about it. They are not good places by any means. If you have no money, they are awful and if you have good insurance they are even more awful
It has been recently documented that most people are harmed much more than they are helped when placed in a mental health hospital. They are Traumatic.

Lima gives me Minority Report vibes, with the idea of tracking people and determining what they MIGHT do based on what their body metrics are showing regardless of what they're verbally expressing... taking away a person's free will is not okay. I don't drink or use any sort of substances, but being forced into these places for over a year, constantly being watched, having my phone taken away, etc would absolutely drive me to drink or do something self destructive because I'd be past my breaking point.
I was an addict, homeless, doing not good things for money for a very long time. I have been clean now for 4 years. If what she is talking about had happened to me - everything she is explaining would have made me want to jump off a building too!! Nevermind if I was just a regular person who just fell on hard times!
I’m sorry we have that in common. I also lost my dad to addiction, and he was also in and out of homelessness. I lost him this past January. He was clean for almost a year prior to his relapse. I agree with everything you’ve said and everything you have been fighting for.

Can you please look into who is in support of Lima? It seems like she has and knows people who have $$$. This is scary because not only does she seem like she has mental health issues herself (very controlling behavior), but what she is talking about doing is imprisoning people without any trial or anything. I know the US does that in certain situations (thanks to the Patriot Act - which I am against) but this is literally something I could see happening in communistic societies. I thought I was having a huge breakdown. I don't remember 75%. So, I was at the ER. The doctor was a beach. Well, found out that my Potassium was so low that I had to have 9 large IV bags. After the 4th or 6th bag. I was going back to my normal life. So, it wasn't because of my mental problems at all. Yes, I have so much mental & physical problems but we can be kinda crazy just because of the having or not having medications.
Thank you for bringing that up, and for sharing your experience. I have autism, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. My worst mental symptoms have always occurred when I had severe asthma attacks. I am always peaceable during, and have developed strategies for dealing with, my mental health symptoms. But I can become agitated, even aggressive if someone tries to keep me from clean air when I can’t breathe. As long as people around me know to let me run out in -20 degree weather and just call an ambulance, no one is the worse for wear. Those who really love me follow me in a car and offer a ride…I will take it. I can’t think or manage anything when I’m low on oxygen, and neither could Lima. When EMTs decided, based on my mental health history, that I was hyperventilating, they put a mask over my face without oxygen, and I flatlined. Luckily, they tried listening to what I had told them and treated my asthma, next. My friend’s sister was picked up acting “drunk” and thrown into jail, where she died. If the police had brought her to detox (like they’re supposed to…I’ve got family in that job), the nurses would have told them she wasn’t drunk, but in insulin shock. There is too much room for error with these mandated placements. Shelters and human service programs have people with GEDs and high school diplomas deciding people’s eligibility, and which resources are appropriate. At least, that describes most of the workers I actually had contact with in my domestic violence shelter tour (as a victim), and those were my qualifications as a worker deciding who stayed, initially. My abusive ex took a shove back for trying to restrain me and not let me out for air (which is legally false imprisonment, so it wasn’t really an overreaction, though I always prefer to use my words, like I told my kids to). In shelters, if you open a door or a window after a certain time, you have to leave and can’t come back. In many, you can never open a window, due to climate control or security policies. You’re living with everyone’s cooking fumes, aerosols, perfumes, and often cigarette smoke. If I can choose whether or not to stay, I can accept that. No one should be restricting peoples’ freedom of movement unless they are a serious threat to society. I am a serious threat to no one, but I might act “crazy” if low oxygen affects my brain functioning. I’m good at getting myself out of bad air before that happens (if there’s any to be found). I would never hurt anyone, unless they were a threat to my life. I can tell who’s helping or hurting me. Forced institutionalization would hurt a lot of people. I’m lucky I have an job and education, but most people are a paycheck away from homelessness. It’s not something they do wrong…it’s a lack of affordable housing.

Since I was a baby I had to many problems that I hide. -ex aunt killed 2 elder sisters & I was suppose to be kidnapped & killed to. ~I feel so guilty because they shouldn't have been killed. It should of been me~ mental stuff -I was pregnant when I was 16 years old the father 99% was my ex-step-father. Well I found our that I had to abort my pregnancy because if my molar pregnancy. Most people couldn't go do stuff like you have done🧡. I also agree that I won't hurt anybody but if someone hurts my furkids. Oh ya, then I will hurt how hurts my babies. Another thing is that tons of people don't know how to get help or afraid to ask, I use to do the same. Why do we have empty businesses that are just there for years & years. Why can't someone try to help ^ allow people to stay there. Make sure that they can take their shower to even try to get hired. Not cutting down all of the shelters but it can be so scary or not safe to stay at some shelters. Hope that I won't upset you. Just how I feel no one has to agree at all. Why do are country want to help other countries but we can't get help? I went to jail because of lies with my ex. Well, I'm kinda glad I did because I had no idea how to get help. I am homeless in oregon, I am homeless because of heroin but have been clean for 4 years now. I feel trapped in between worlds because I don't do hard drugs and I certainly don't want to go back to a "normal" living situation. I like living in my nomad hut in the woods and although I don't pay property taxes I am a productive member of society. If this all cones to pass I'm honestly not sure what I'll do!
This is a horror movie come to life. If I were to write a movie about this Limas character would be a psychopath who is a sadist. Her back story would involve a childhood where she developed a deep hatred for her twin sisters and grew up to become this sinister psychopath that gets off on controlling ppl and developed this whole system of torture. It started naturally like any psychopaths madness begins where it was little by little she found ways to indulge in her abusive awful desires. And now it’s becoming this empire that she’s able to manufacture into a bossiness. Like any good psychopath she is a perfectionist who works herself to the top and thus has developed this plan. And it really is an empire of sorts. It’s horrifying truly. And for some terrifying reason I’m not sure that it would even be a work of fiction… Outside of complete speculation limas ideas terrify me. I’m speaking as an ex-homeless recovering addict that was stuck in the California shuffle for 3 years. I’ve been committed, 51/50d and 52/50d amongst other things including DEVELOPING SEIZURES FROM OVERMEDICATION which resulted in requiring 14 staples in my skull from having a grand mal seizure (TWICE)… This hits close to home and there’s SO MANY ppl stuck in this shit! I think about all the ppl I met along the way in much worse situations esp the ones in the psych hospitals. Don’t even get me started on state facilities…like this topic is horrifying even without all this Lima stuff but it’s just surreal seeing this occur in reality and not a movie. This is just crazy I can’t believe this is even happening. There’s already ppl living without any freedom and I can’t begin to imagine the horrors that could come from this. I can’t imagine going through just what I went thru again let alone having it multiplied to this degree of control. To the level of conservatorship with forced torture. Her methods are the least affective and they are done in a controlled environment that wouldn’t allow for any alleviation or support or freedom. Ppl would be subjected to this stuff for as long as she wanted them to be. The odds would be stacked against the patient in her proposals Like seriously this is so gross and straight up evil sick and twisted. If this were reality, personally, I would absolutely make sure I used a gun if I were to ever slip back mentally again. None of what she’s preaching makes sense. Any addiction specialist will tell you PPL MUST HIT ROCK BOTTOM IF THEY WANT TO CHANGE. You cannot force it on someone. What she’s proposing is literally enslaving ppl with the guise of saving them. This shit is so disturbing. It’s bringing me right back to those days and ppl CAN change. All this will achieve us keeping ppl stuck and enabled but miserable. It’s awful. With no chance of ever finding the will to change or at least it will become much more difficult, or it will bring ppl right back down to that space if falsely imprisoned. Imagine if someone had it out for you and used this system against you and ACTLY drove you insane from keeping you in there…. My partner was in a rehab center. He had a pretty amazing job but his alcoholism was out of control. The first rehab center we got him out in 5 days because it was terrifying. It was beautiful in looks but they put him on tons of meds and took everything away from him and told him he couldn’t leave until he finished but wouldn’t tell him when that was. The person in charge was a manipulator who would lie. She would tell me one thing and him a different thing and because we couldn’t speak to each other it was difficult to understand what was actually happening. What was happening was that they wanted all his insurance money because his insurance was pretty good. Sometimes these places are just scams and terrifying. We had to go to extremes to be able to get him out of there. It’s so terrifying for someone who is an addict to feel locked and unable to have freedom and feel forced to do something and be taken away from every family member and be lied to while on their medication that could produce hallucinations. Anyone can end up in a place like this, even those who are not crazy and are just struggling with something. He was traumatized from that experience. Even through that he still wanted to go to another rehab to get better because it was his choice to get better and he did his 30 days were they weren’t lying and we had therapy sessions together. He has been sober for 8 months. People like Lima just remind me of that narcissistic director who was lying to us and found ways to keep him trapped at that rehab to drain his insurance.
It’s so easy for a person like Lima to always want to take someone’s rights away but I’d like to see how she’d feel if someone snatches her rights away and locked her up against her will without due process smh she’s disgusting and it’s scary she’s even got ppl already “locked “ up with her as their guardian sooooo scary. She should have to endure everything she wants to enforce on others against their will!!!!
You can do a brain map on someone and see damage from trauma. But you can’t say that automatically means they cannot care for themselves. They can and they do.
I’m currently homeless and I can’t think of anything fukkin worse. Does my kid I am the sole provider of go with me? Does he go to foster care for a year? Actually worse than prison as there is no due process.. didn’t we used to run our asylums like this in the early 1900’s?!! And wasn’t it REALLY BAD??!! Everybody with any behavior deviating from the norm was locked away for sometimes the rest of their lives and subjected to a variety of horror.

I was a corporate engineer and I “ENDED UP HOMELESS”. The shit happens to all kinds of people, including ones not on drugs or mental problems. Especially now when housing and inflation has really caused widespread financial issues for a lot of Americans. I am so grateful to you BJ!

Yes exactly I ended up homeless due to family disfunction....nd while I was homeless still held My job I still have never lossed it..never was on drugs or anything like that...this chick is dillussional and very confused herself as well as alot of others about homeless ppl....just because some end up homeless doesn't make them any lesser a human being than a millionaire 😢 💔 thr stigma is horrible...if these ppl "cared" so much...why not choose a Healthier approach like counseling housing life skills coach ect...I dunno maybe people who actually really are interested in helping ppl and really caring for ppl like it's their own children....just bcuz some end up homeless doesn't make them any less than her or anyone else and doesn't mean ur always on drugs or have a "mental illness" like ur saying as well times were already hard and then add inflation on top of a pandemic nd so much more...come on...who does she think she is?? Which is why many people refuse to go there - they just don't feel safe. Which is why people often stay on the streets with a group of people they trust. It's crazy to say - Go to this place where you don't feel safe or get placed in an inpatient facility where you can't make your own decisions. Crazy....

In my opinion, there are probably a good amount of situations where the “help” maybe doesn’t come across that way or feel like genuine help to the people its being offered to, so they don’t take it. Some people who are homeless are happier living on the street, which should speak for itself.

So I only got half way through this when I posted my comment, but pretty much knew where it was gonna lead. The fact when pressed with very logical questions she has no answers.....literally started stumbling around her words, but when it's her lock everyone up view she determined. Even in the end she is a master manipulator.
I have talked to god knows how many homeless and helped in anyway I can I can guarantee they will talk to you if you show interest in who they are and their story. Most homeless people are really decent deep down. ...like to point out at the end all she can do is pat herself on the back about her company and twisted reality. I think she has some deeply rooted mental issues about control. She's a narcissist with to much power.

I've been homeless abused on drugs Everything you can imagine.... Now I'm in college been clean I have my own apartment my own car... The treatment that helped me was compassion. I've been to so many rehabs where they beat me down that just made it worse than I found places that treated me with respect and love and that's when I got better

I’ve been homeless! On & off until I was 19. Slept in parks, back yards, & shelters. I’m a Rape & Domestic Violence Survivor. I was groomed & put under mind control from 5 to 11 years old. While my monster uncle was abusing me my parents were so wrapped up in their drug addiction they didn’t notice. I have PTSD, anxiety, & DID. I’ve went through YEARS of therapy, facing my trauma, & finding Yah. This infuriates me! If I don’t want to talk to people it’s because my anxiety. Just because someone is homeless it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have any rights! Addicts deserve rights! Lima’s mindset is horrifying. She wants to lock everyone up 😂!! Like WHAT?!

Through history ,homeless people have gone missing . have read stories of experimentation there have been stories of never being the same mentality. The homeless are easy prey for many reason. I’m so grateful for people like BJ- there is NO EXCUSE for this in a free society!! Our nation fought a tyrant who had ideas like this. My ancestors fled Germany because they were going to be locked away due to the “solution” deemed necessary for Our people (Roma)…gas chambers. My great grandparents had a dairy, were upstanding people who helped their neighbors- but they weren’t “good enough” to EXIST in Hitlers view of society. When they got here, the US, they saved until they got a deli. They slept in the back, on a bed made of potato sacks stuffed with newspapers. Their son, my Opa (grandpa) was a biochemist for the FDA for over FORTY YEARS. He worked on the team that invented the modern nutrition label- a tool that helps almost every person in this country. My uncles and aunts work for big companies- Lockheed, Boeing, Pfizer, American Chemical Society, etc etc…another uncle is a pianist in Chicago. My mom works with special populations in Charlotte NC (disabled, people who were incarcerated, deaf/blind, etc). I recently obtained my paralegal, because this is what speaks to my heart. We would have never existed if the dangerous ideas were allowed to prosper!!
Because of the stigma, I (in the counseling field) have seen it spoke about with a smile of discomfort or to cope with shame. Not that I think this is the case here, just always trying to spread awareness about the harm of the stigma

I became homeless at the age of 19 in Germany and had ZERO drug addiction/use. I had to get out of a toxic home (my parents place), just couldn't take it anymore. I was lucky because someone drove me to the homeless shelter for women where I could literally live and have my own room. There were women there that caused trouble and they got kicked out and weren't allowed back. Some homeless women weren't allowed in the house at all, because they'd start fights and attack people and stuff. In Lima's system, where are those women supposed to go? If they're not allowed in the homeless shelter, then they don't have a choice. And what if they don't have a drug problem? Oh, right: FORCED therapy! That's insane. Any psychotherapist will tell you that forced psychotherapy doesn't work. You have to want it and participate. What an idiot.
Noone should have the right to take people's freedom away when they haven't even committed any crimes and there's no evidence that they are going to commit any crimes in the future.

I have a special needs 13 year old who is high functioning in some areas but common sense, safety and remembering simple concepts. I would never do what she is talking about to him. I was homeless for about 8 years as a teenager. We were part of a traveling community. We worked some and we lived off the grid and built our own lives it just usually was outside. We didn't want to work to be part of the system. This is a real lifestyle for people. If she tried to do this with these people that i knew there would be mutany. I mean real mutiny. Not only that but her modality of treatment is very controversial. It's not usually even accepted in the therapeutic world because it's so harmful to people. Esp addicts

I have a friend who had to stay at a homeless shelter for a few days and it was more dangerous there than the streets with peoples stuff being stolen and women being assaulted and of course you have to sign paperwork saying they are not responsible for you or your property there. Some are great but some are horrible.

This girl honesty puts a massive fright in me. She may be a danger to others around her. I just wanted to chime in because I myself have been homeless more then once. Not because of drugs. People have money problems and things can be rough. For me my pos mother kicked me out at 17. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and not bother people with your problems and take care of yourself. I'm 29 now and I'm doing ok.. I met the man of my dreams and we've built a nice life together.. I did it all without the help of any programs or professional help..

Some people do actually choose to be homeless. I had an uncle that traveled all around the US and even met him a woman and they got married, then traveled together being homeless and when they got a lot older instead of like most folks retiring they just settled down. They were so HAPPY being that way. I always looked forward to his stories.
Me too...I did farm labor, caretaking, lived free at remote hotsprings, in caves, creeks with healthy water...no car, no phone, no tent, no rent ... just went to town for food once a week.
Cities are full of trouble.

Speaking as a family member of someone who went to one of the best mental facilities available, every family member who thinks it's a good place and every doctor who thinks it's a good solution should have to be admitted against their will into the facility first and then see what their opinion is about it. I was an addict, homeless, doing not good things for money for a very long time. I have been clean now for 4 years. If what she is talking about had happened to me - everything she is explaining would have made me want to jump off a building too!! Nevermind if I was just a regular person who just fell on hard times!
I’m sorry we have that in common. I also lost my dad to addiction, and he was also in and out of homelessness. I lost him this past January. He was clean for almost a year prior to his relapse. I agree with everything you’ve said and everything you have been fighting for.
I hope you have found at least some peace and healing. It doesn't get easier with time, as I, personally, have learned from experience, however it does get easier to cope with. Sending you much love.

Can you please look into who is in support of Lima? It seems like she has and knows people who have $$$. This is scary because not only does she seem like she has mental health issues herself (very controlling behavior), but what she is talking about doing is imprisoning people without any trial or anything. I know the US does that in certain situations (thanks to the Patriot Act - which I am against) but this is literally something I could see happening in communistic societies. I thought I was having a huge breakdown. I don't remember 75%. So, I was at the ER. The doctor was a beach. Well, found out that my Potassium was so low that I had to have 9 large IV bags. After the 4th or 6th bag. I was going back to my normal life.
So, it wasn't because of my mental problems at all. Yes, I have so much mental & physical problems but we can be kinda crazy just because of the having or not having medications.
Thank you for bringing that up, and for sharing your experience. I have autism, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. My worst mental symptoms have always occurred when I had severe asthma attacks. I am always peaceable during, and have developed strategies for dealing with, my mental health symptoms. But I can become agitated, even aggressive if someone tries to keep me from clean air when I can’t breathe. As long as people around me know to let me run out in -20 degree weather and just call an ambulance, no one is the worse for wear. Those who really love me follow me in a car and offer a ride…I will take it. I can’t think or manage anything when I’m low on oxygen, and neither could Lima. When EMTs decided, based on my mental health history, that I was hyperventilating, they put a mask over my face without oxygen, and I flatlined. Luckily, they tried listening to what I had told them and treated my asthma, next. My friend’s sister was picked up acting “drunk” and thrown into jail, where she died. If the police had brought her to detox (like they’re supposed to…I’ve got family in that job), the nurses would have told them she wasn’t drunk, but in insulin shock. There is too much room for error with these mandated placements. Shelters and human service programs have people with GEDs and high school diplomas deciding people’s eligibility, and which resources are appropriate. At least, that describes most of the workers I actually had contact with in my domestic violence shelter tour (as a victim), and those were my qualifications as a worker deciding who stayed, initially. My abusive ex took a shove back for trying to restrain me and not let me out for air (which is legally false imprisonment, so it wasn’t really an overreaction, though I always prefer to use my words, like I told my kids to). In shelters, if you open a door or a window after a certain time, you have to leave and can’t come back. In many, you can never open a window, due to climate control or security policies. You’re living with everyone’s cooking fumes, aerosols, perfumes, and often cigarette smoke. If I can choose whether or not to stay, I can accept that. No one should be restricting peoples’ freedom of movement unless they are a serious threat to society. I am a serious threat to no one, but I might act “crazy” if low oxygen affects my brain functioning. I’m good at getting myself out of bad air before that happens (if there’s any to be found). I would never hurt anyone, unless they were a threat to my life. I can tell who’s helping or hurting me. Forced institutionalization would hurt a lot of people. I’m lucky I have an job and education, but most people are a paycheck away from homelessness. It’s not something they do wrong…it’s a lack of affordable housing.

So, I hope that you can understand what I am saying. I can't understand myself most of the time.
Anyways, I have to tell you that I'm So Very PROUD for being so strong. Most people couldn't go do stuff like you have done🧡.
I also agree that I won't hurt anybody but if someone hurts my furkids. Oh ya, then I will hurt how hurts my babies. Another thing is that tons of people don't know how to get help or afraid to ask, I use to do the same. Why do we have empty businesses that are just there for years & years. Why can't someone try to help ^ allow people to stay there. Make sure that they can take their shower to even try to get hired. Not cutting down all of the shelters but it can be so scary or not safe to stay at some shelters.

I am homeless in oregon, I am homeless because of heroin but have been clean for 4 years now. I feel trapped in between worlds because I don't do hard drugs and I certainly don't want to go back to a "normal" living situation. I like living in my nomad hut in the woods and although I don't pay property taxes I am a productive member of society. If this all cones to pass I'm honestly not sure what I'll do!

If I were to write a movie about this Limas character would be a psychopath who is a sadist. Her back story would involve a childhood where she developed a deep hatred for her twin sisters and grew up to become this sinister psychopath that gets off on controlling ppl and developed this whole system of torture. It started naturally like any psychopaths madness begins where it was little by little she found ways to indulge in her abusive awful desires. And now it’s becoming this empire that she’s able to manufacture into a bossiness. Like any good psychopath she is a perfectionist who works herself to the top and thus has developed this plan. And it really is an empire of sorts. It’s horrifying truly. And for some terrifying reason I’m not sure that it would even be a work of fiction…
Outside of complete speculation limas ideas terrify me. I’m speaking as an ex-homeless recovering addict that was stuck in the California shuffle for 3 years. I’ve been committed, 51/50d and 52/50d amongst other things including DEVELOPING SEIZURES FROM OVERMEDICATION which resulted in requiring 14 staples in my skull from having a grand mal seizure (TWICE)… This hits close to home and there’s SO MANY ppl stuck in this shit! I think about all the ppl I met along the way in much worse situations esp the ones in the psych hospitals. Don’t even get me started on state facilities…like this topic is horrifying even without all this Lima stuff but it’s just surreal seeing this occur in reality and not a movie. This is just crazy I can’t believe this is even happening. There’s already ppl living without any freedom and I can’t begin to imagine the horrors that could come from this. I can’t imagine going through just what I went thru again let alone having it multiplied to this degree of control. To the level of conservatorship with forced torture. Her methods are the least affective and they are done in a controlled environment that wouldn’t allow for any alleviation or support or freedom. Ppl would be subjected to this stuff for as long as she wanted them to be. The odds would be stacked against the patient in her proposals

This shit is so disturbing. It’s bringing me right back to those days and ppl CAN change. All this will achieve us keeping ppl stuck and enabled but miserable. It’s awful. With no chance of ever finding the will to change or at least it will become much more difficult, or it will bring ppl right back down to that space if falsely imprisoned. Imagine if someone had it out for you and used this system against you and ACTLY drove you insane from keeping you in there…. Absolutely 1000000% accurate. I’m terrified of ideas like this being propagated. How Lima is given HUGE platforms for this dangerous rhetoric is DISGUSTING. I’ve already typed a novel of a comment above, but my family fled Germany in 1938 because of ideas like this. We were not considered “fit for society” because we were Roma. Terrifying and disgusting.

My partner was in a rehab center. He had a pretty amazing job but his alcoholism was out of control. The first rehab center we got him out in 5 days because it was terrifying. It was beautiful in looks but they put him on tons of meds and took everything away from him and told him he couldn’t leave until he finished but wouldn’t tell him when that was. The person in charge was a manipulator who would lie. She would tell me one thing and him a different thing and because we couldn’t speak to each other it was difficult to understand what was actually happening. What was happening was that they wanted all his insurance money because his insurance was pretty good. Sometimes these places are just scams and terrifying. We had to go to extremes to be able to get him out of there. It’s so terrifying for someone who is an addict to feel locked and unable to have freedom and feel forced to do something and be taken away from every family member and be lied to while on their medication that could produce hallucinations. Anyone can end up in a place like this, even those who are not crazy and are just struggling with something. He was traumatized from that experience. Even through that he still wanted to go to another rehab to get better because it was his choice to get better and he did his 30 days were they weren’t lying and we had therapy sessions together. He has been sober for 8 months. People like Lima just remind me of that narcissistic director who was lying to us and found ways to keep him trapped at that rehab to drain his insurance.

You can do a brain map on someone and see damage from trauma. But you can’t say that automatically means they cannot care for themselves. They can and they do.
I’m currently homeless and I can’t think of anything fukkin worse. Does my kid I am the sole provider of go with me? Does he go to foster care for a year?
Actually worse than prison as there is no due process.. didn’t we used to run our asylums like this in the early 1900’s?!! And wasn’t it REALLY BAD??!! Everybody with any behavior deviating from the norm was locked away for sometimes the rest of their lives and subjected to a variety of horror.

My brain stalled for a few seconds when she talked about how important it is to treat people with dignity. Nothing she said before that point even hinted on that aspect. I'd go so far as to say that treating people with dignity would firstly involve allowing them to have a sense of control over their own lives.
