There is something people should know about "fight or flight" adrenaline and what happens to the body. I can almost for certain say, the HERO probably wasn't fit or in good health which was the furthest thing from his mind in the moment of acting selflessly in saving others. Because he was in flight mode focusing only on how many he could save, once an element (smoke) entered his body, the danger of the biggest adrenaline dump that he'd ever experience started. For those who experience this on a daily basis (firefighters, cops, er staff, etc.) they have to immediately regulate their bodies every time they experience this. Without seeing the coroner's report: I believe it will read, CHF (congestive heart failure) and smoke inhalation. Rather then trying to find out the why, we should honor him for the selfless sacrifice he made in that day being touched to go and save others, he passed a HERO. Prayers to his family during this difficult time.
I'm sort of relieved it was a (presumably) a heart attack. I expected that he had been hit by a careless driver, which would have been a cruel twist of fate. Instead he gave his life to save others, which is admirably heroic.
She said the car was smoking, and he helped them get their seatbelts off and get out. He probably thought if the car is smoking, then it's possible it could explode. @stuwest3653

What was in the car that was burning that would be so toxic? It's incredibly sad that this man died doing his best to help people in need.🕊️ My condolences to all his loved ones.
I used to live in a apartment complex with 2 exits that come out on a red light. Not long after we moved in, I drove out of one (it was a 2 way with three lanes, one going left on the way towards the red light, but they have a off ramp that comes towards where I was coming out, where people don’t have to turn at the light itself. When I get a chance to go and I come out and next thing I know I’m hit in the back of my car, shoved to the opposite side of the road, almost down an embankment with other apartments at the bottom, which I could have ended up really hurting myself. I pull back to the other side of the road (I should have stayed on the other side, so they realized what actually happened), and the woman who hit me (mind you, her vehicle barely had a scratch and mine was totaled) was saying “why did you pull out in front of me?” a lot and I was whiplashed, so I don’t realize how untruthful she was being. If I pulled out the way she (and later the cops said), I would have been hit in the side where I was at, the driver’s side, but she hit the passenger behind the driver’s seat, which is why I went across the road, not towards the opposite way of where I was going. But the officer (which I’m sure the officer was impartial to the woman yelling about how I pulled out in front of her, she being alright and me not only being whiplashed, but having a big scrap on my arm and even lost my glasses) said I pulled out in front of her, despite the off ramp she came off of is a yield lane and also going into a residential street (I think she was speeding as well, because she was nowhere there until after I pulled about 3/4 the way out of where I was), the female cop definitely wasn’t doing her job. So I was down a car, had to pay a ticket, and this wacko woman drove away just fine. And that off ramp is pointless, because it never got that congested in the 3/4 years I lived there and that there was no other off ramps, despite one side has a school and that they could have had more options for others in other lanes bypass the light as well. Not only that, I lived in a big city a few years before in that state, me being from a state nearby as I live near a state line (I basically learned to drive there) and people there could drive crazy, though most where pretty good drivers in that area, but this smaller town has people who have no idea what turn signals are, how speed limits work, or any basic understanding of what car safety is. I don’t think anyone who learned to drive in that city is driving legally, because I refused any DMV there as a legitimate place for getting drivers licenses, because I’ve never seen a sane/responsible driver in that city. So I definitely feel for these people living there, because cities should be fixing roads that have a lot of accidents.
