    The British Army's regional standby battalion in Cyprus has been testing its ability to fight on foreign soil. 2 Royal Anglian, nicknamed the 'Poachers', have been taking part in Exercise Turbulent to practise their readiness to deploy. Their task is to help the local security forces and subdue the enemy in 'Etropia', an imaginary state under attack.

    My grandad was in this regiment, not sure if it was royal anglian 2 but it was around the 2000's when he got discharged at rank of corporal.

    How is the accommodation now at Episkopi for the troops I was there in 82-84 and all we had was a ceiling fan to keep us cool and blankets in the winter to keep us warm.

      Ben Harris they normally use laser systems that can detect when you get hit.There not wearing them in this exercise though,this is just to keep the skills up

    Thought i was watching a video of ARMA 3 there for a second. Then i realised its real life cos its in cyprus and the arma 3 terrain is based on greek islands lol.

    Man, you do not get much body armor in the British infantry. Still carry a lot of gear like American infantry though.

      All the rockapes are good for is getting them selves stuck in mine fields and needing rescuing 😉😂 story told to me by my old science teacher who was ex royal engineers. All jokes aside tho I'm going royal anglians and my best mate just got his mudguards for raf reg a few weeks back
