There are some ABS-like water-washable resins out now. It would be great if you could try them out or even see if they could be mixed with the SUNLU water-washable (you tried in this video) to see if that could decrease the brittleness. Also, if you are in touch with SUNLU to see if they might release a water-washable ABS-like (more bendy) resin.
for my FDM printer my go to is SUNLU been using it for years, today ive got the SLA printer out after a couple years in the cupboard, thinking of giving this ago
I'm a big fan of Sunlu (and Jayo) resin, the lower viscosity seems to result in much less shrinkage in the prints. With the Elegoo resin I was using previously I found that the parts of many multi-part models wouldn't fit together properly. The main consideration in changing from ABS-like to water washable resin for me would be the overall difference in cost; water washable resin tends to be more expensive so the increased outlay for resin would have to offset the additional cost of IPA. Having said that, I would certainly welcome reduced exposure times and if the prints are more brittle then perhaps it's something I'd use specifically for bases and other less spiky models.
Yeah I always thought multi part stuff not fitting was just something to deal with but not so much with the Sunlu, I just used the rest of the bottle on bases and base bitz
What would you do with all the contaminated water? At least with IPA you can allow it to evaporate and let the remainder go hard in the sun before disposing of it. What's your thoughts?
All water wash (ABS-Like, or not) are way too brittle for most uses!! Then you have the 'future cracking' issue. So all in all, a waste of time and money!!

Hi, if you mix the toughness resin into the water washable (around 15% by weight toughness) it still water washable and mitigates the brittleness!

Those are some great prints, if I ever get back to trying printing I’ll look this resin up.

The Imitation of Life designs look cool. Warhammer-Ed Johnny Five.
Sunlu have a water washable Abs like now, be interested to see your opinions on that. I just ordered a couple of kilos at the black Friday price.
Please share your experience with the abs-like water washable 🙏🏼
Ok might have to take a look
if u like the SunLu ABS like, there is SunLu ABS like WATER WASHABLE, for very strong, highly detailed minatures it is great.
What exposure settings are you using with the water washable.
