    My Connery head sculpt of the Goldfinger line is stunning, and beautifully shaded, with more colour and texture than this one, but this sculpt is brilliant too.

      Glad your headsculpt was in perfect condition, although based on my experience the color and texture were no better than this one. I really liked the figures from the Goldfinger line, but for my collection, I need to limit myself to just Bond in tuxedo. Thanks for watching!

    I definitely need to grab this fella. Sean is my favorite 007 as well
    I basically enjoy every single Bond film except Spectre, the first half of A View to a Kill, and parts of Golden Gun. I like-love every other Bond film.
    Is it true Big Chief lost the license? If so that’s a shame but in my eyes they took extremely long to make the Dr No figures but I know nothing about production for 1/6 figures. I hope the license could go back to Sideshow or someone that won’t charge $100+ for a 1/12 figure

    • @raysway1897
      @raysway1897  2 роки тому +1

      Still not 100% confirmed on the license situation, but considering the value of the brand I would not ever expect to see 1/12 or 1/6 Bond figures being less than $100. Thanks for watching!

    I chose to build a 1/6 tuxedo Connery Bond instead of buying this one, due to the poor structure of the shirt's collar, the body of the figure being too slim for the actual frame of Connery in Doctor No, and especially due to multiple complaints on the figure's loose joints.
    The figure doesn't look too different than this version. I'll soon post a review on my channel.

    Just found this on eBay just scrolling looking at 1/6 figures & decided to look up video reviews. After watching this video I smashed the buy now button!!! 😂😂😂 This will be my first Bond figure, I have been eyeballing the DID Roger Moore & Pierce Brosnan figures but couldn’t pull the trigger. I’m just getting into 1/6 figures & always wanted a Sean Connery Bond but the few I seen on eBay looked kind of lame. Anyhow cool video & hopefully in a couple of weeks my Connery Bond will arrive!!!

      Great choice!!! It's not a PERFECT figure but by far the best Connery Bond one made so far. Both the DiD and the BCS Roger Moore are excellent choices as well. I can't speak for the Brosnan as I haven't seen it in-hand. Congrats, and thanks for watching!

    Agreed. I posted my video earlier. I love it. Sure, the body is not ideal for dynamic poses but the proportions are fine. It is a wonderful figure and the criticism I've read is (mostly) from those who don't have it yet. The head sculpt is phenomenal and the tailoring is great. Lovely accessories to. I'd give it a big recommendation.

    Thank you for the review. The head is great, the accessoires are too. The tuxedo on the other hand doesn't look good in my opinion. It is too bulky, so this figur looks dollish. I think I'll try an third party suit an different body. Looking foward to this figure to arrive in Germany.

    Fleming did not sell the film rights in 1961, a sold them several years earlier to Harry saltzman and then in 1961 Harry saltzman and cubby broccoli phone Deon productions to make the James Bond.
    Also James Bond was not created in 1953 he was created in 1952, when casino Royale was written in 52 but it was released in 1953. Sorry to be a stickler but.....😁🍸

    the odd funny thing about the 60's action figure doll 007' james bond was that the doll was the cheapest and saddest 1' made a straight lack luster no real articulation no movement but the 007' doll had the best gear and equipment , GI joe was ok body wise , but oddly it was captain action who had the best action figure body with good hand movement to hold pistol , sword or knife and captain action had the ability to wear many different head pieces and almost everyone who owned gi joes had a captain action doll with 007' gear

    Thanks for showing. Head sculpt looks amazing, but the suit doesn't look great, plus the joints. Taken four years for this to come out. Unpopular opinion, but I am glad they have lost the licence. They're not bigger enough to deal with such a licence. Final quality, taking too long, not releasing enough and too expensive for what it actually is. Hope inarts or damtoys will pick it up. Both would do a better job.

    • @raysway1897

      I'm guessing EON productions must cost an arm and a leg for the Bond license, which is why the larger companies haven't taken it on since the old Sideshow days. Really hoping SOMEONE continues a line. Thanks for watching!

    • @thejamesbondshow9754

      Big Chief Studios have NOT lost the licensed.
      Though I'm.not a fan of Gregg Andrews of Big Chief Studios, who is an arrogant arsehole (mini private conversations with and he knows what I think of him) I no they have not lost the licence, in fact beyond productions are currently looking over to approve the new Timothy Dalton doll from The Living Daylights.
      yes the dolls have been delayed but the quality of all of them including the Goldfinger ones that were just as good as deliver let Dido have been nothing short of outstanding and Big Chief did to their credit fix up any issues like the rubbed nose on the Sean Connery doll from the Goldfinger range.
      Take into consideration all the heads are hand painted and all the clothes are handmade and sewn and they are stretched with staff considering the other licences they have including the Doctor Who range.
      And I've been waiting for two and a half years since putting down my deposit for these dolls but the weight will be worth as they are an A+ product and no company has ever made such stunning James Bond dolls before so credit due where credit is due.

      Big Chief Studios did not lose the licensed, that's a bullshit rumour. Quality takes time and you need to factor in a lot of things he which of pointed out in my posted comment.

    • @raysway1897
      @raysway1897  2 роки тому +2

      @@thejamesbondshow9754 Agreed quality takes time, and it is a rumour. To be fair, it wouldn't be that BCS "lost" the license, but there is possibility that the license expired. The time to produce and delays (caused by the pandemic) could easily have caused that. I've been very happy with the BCS Bond figures, so if they continue the line, I'll certainly support!

    I saw the box for this at my local comic book store and came home to look for reviews on UA-cam. Most past Bond figures, like the Sideshow one, looked ridiculous to me but not so this one. I picked it up after seeing your review. Wished I would have gotten the Moore Live & Let Die figure.
    As far as your take on Daniel Craig’s Bond I completely agree. Sourpuss indeed - and after seeing NO TIME TO DIE (or as I refer to it: EVERYBODY DIES) I actually booed the movie in my car driving home. Travesty. Connery is great, especially in the first 4 films, but I’m also a huge fan of Roger Moore’s lighter touch - in my opinion he doesn’t get enough love. Almost cartoonishly handsome, a true Englishman, and unlike Connery who is not so good in his last 3 Bond appearances, Moore gives it his all throughout his 7. His only fault being he got too old.

    • @raysway1897
      @raysway1897  2 роки тому

      Agreed on all points! Glad you picked this one up. I was waiting for a Moore in tux, so hopefully they will continue the line! Although my favorite is Connery, I grew up with the Moore films, and I agree, in the discussion he is underrated. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the review. I agree with your comments and mine too has weak joints. In fact, my right foot will not stay on at all and the thin plastic packaging within has been knocked through by either the loose shoe or mishandling.
    Personally I’m disappointed by the packaging and Presentation, so unlike the previous six in the series.
    Also, and I think it was included in the original promotional material and instructions (although I could be wrong) the Silencer is missing from Bond and the Tarantula missing from Dr No.
    As for the other points that you raised about Licensing ect, I’d like to message you if at all possible? You’ll be interested I think.
    Cheers

      Sorry to hear about your experience. My packaging came tight and intact so I had no issues there. I don't have the Dr.No fig but my understanding was that the tarantula was supposed to be in the cage and non removeable but I could be wrong about that. I also don't remember if the silencer was part of the original promised accessories. For me, it's a non issue as he never put it on when dressed in this outfit. Thanks for watching!

      I’ve been with Big Chief since Jan of 2018 and to be honest and also considering the Odyssean struggles that they’ve had with their Bond Licence and all of their New Factory problems ect I’m just relieved to finally have these two in hand...incongruous packaging aside.
