I personally think that Luigi is kinda underrated, because he has a quite decent air game and quite a high risk high reward type of character. But I can see many of his weakness like getting knocked out at low percentage. Overall, I still think he's pretty good and deserve to be higher than Luffy. Also, if you lend the up-b directly on a enemy at like 70%, it's definately rewarding.

Down Throw and up Throw are really good for setting up fairs which can help him because of his amazing edgeguard potential. He also has a lot You can optimize in his bombs mid combo
Tails is surely not S tier as you can easily defeat him by using Sora,Captain Falcon and Ichigo the reason i think that its because Sora and Ichigo has a really good ground speed,Ichigo with his almost no hitboxes attack and Sora with his single attack combo,and captain falcon has some counters to Tails but thats my opinion

I mained tails before the 2 patches that gave him major changes. It took some getting used to both times. I honestly missed the old tails, because his old side special could combo into almost any aerial and his up special was not only annoying, but you could slide across the stage with it. Seeing the new tails up in S tier makes me worried that people will laugh at me like people do with cloud mains.
It's funny, honestly, because people shit on Naruto's recovery even though I think it's honestly one of THE BEST recoveries flat out when you KNOW how to use it. He has two different recoveries in which you can utilize (one where he flies upwards into the air with a kunai (ideal) and one where he simply jumps off a shadow clone and kicks, not really ideal when trying to recover from long distances) and not a lot of people realize that. People think that Naruto is worse of the worse because of his rasenshuriken nerf, and as a Naruto main myself, I can tell you that the best Naruto players never even relied that heavily on rasenshuriken in the first place. Naruto has so much potential beyond just his admittingly previous sorta OP rasengan and rasenshuriken, and it's sad that people don't see that anymore. P.S.: Tails being S tier is absolute bullshit.

however people don't think he's bad JUST because of that. Naruto is bad because he struggles in a meta filled with swordfighters. His mobility is good but it isn't great compared to most other characters that are meta-relevant, his range is bad in general which is a big issue because then he'll lose badly to most swordfighters, Naruto's combo game isn't all that great as he depends on clones which are predictable and easy to powershield. Naruto's recovery is still bad with that "tip" which actually anyone in the competitive scene already knows. It still is a predictable and linear recovery that doesn't have a particularly great amount of distance kick or not. Naruto's neutral is pretty poor along with his normals just not being very good in general and not connecting well. Naruto doesn't really have anything to work with that can be used practically in top level play (This makes stuff like Side-B hard to utilize) which overall causes Naruto to be unviable and bottom tier. But I still think Luigi is still a little worse than Naruto.

I think they made tail broken for a reason.His whole arcs in playable games are him either stepping out of sonic's shadow and becoming his hero,he even commands the mission to stop eggman on the ARK,I think they saw the potential in tails to be top tier.
Sonic has terrible range, a pretty below average neutral, no kill setups, the worst priority in the game (All of his moves except for Up-B gets outprioritized by pretty much any move). His recovery is easily predictable and he has no results. Definently not underrated until port priority gets fixed at least.
Teh Real Playridise well his recovery is not too predictable he have kill confirms He is not bad just not amazing nor great his range is mediocre but he still have some moves like nair or d-tilt to improve neutral
Wrong, Sonic have the "kill" set ups, His f-air, did you forget it? you can combo it from D-throw, U-throw (Just Fast Falers and heavy Weights) and a mix up from F-Throw to f-air which it is good Mix up to Edge guard your opponent, he had B-throw which kills at high %'s. his Recovery is NOT predictable, if it is predictable he wouldn't reach the stage or the ledge safely Just like little mac. i am one of the Good sonic player as well with Spin Dashes and Spin shots (which it is Advance Technique) as Neutral B edge guard (with F-air at the blast zone or to spike them)
Honestly thoguh, that side-B on tails is broken. I have him as a secondary and DEVASTATE with that side-B. Plus, it can combo into up-B, and if you have quick enough reactions, you can keep doing it or combo it into an aerial.
Tails is awesome in SSF2 beta and I would love to see him in a actual smash bros game. I know Mccleodgaming doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo, but maybe they wanted Tails for Smash and wanted to show off how good he is and maybe that's why Tails is top tier, that and his side B and down A are both OP.
I'm a Bowser main and I win games, but that doesn't mean he's good. I think Bowser deserves to be where he's at, and I'd say the same for Luigi. Luigi doesn't have the best of frame data and can be predicted and punished pretty easily.

Here is a formula someone should use to do a tier list. 50(W^2)/AM W = Times a character is used and won A = Times a character has appeared. M = Total recorded matches I got this from a weapon tier list for Splatoon 2 but it can also work for this game.
I think black mage should be a little bit higher like maybe 1-2 more spots. He's quite strong and fun to play as. Plus his down air (the sycthe) is sorta hard to get the death feature, but it's real helpful when you throw your opponent off the stage and the grim reaper literally throws the opponent down so fast.
uh ok heres my opinions xd 1.) sora should be higher because of his combo game and safe pressure, as well as his very high mixup capabilities (close to no unusable moves, 3 different types of down b) 2.) shiek should be higher because of her ability to dismiss defensive play with baits and projectiles that does insane amounts of damage, as well as having (in my opinion) a better dashdance than captain falcon 3.) dk is still as much combo food as he used to be, and his moves tend to be pretty unsafe with lag. he also has one the worst vertical recovery in the game so lots of characters with spikes can combo him off the edge. also, he gets very little from grabs. 4.) bowser should be higher because of his more powerful yet safer aerials than dk's. also able to land easier with down b EDIT: 1.) bowser is shit lol 2.) dk is still p bad tho 3.) i play sonic a lot but i really think even naruto is better than him 4.) so i never actually understood why lloyd is so high on the tier list because ive labbed him for a few hours but i cant find anything that would actually seem really unbalanced
the reason why sora is so low is because he is slow faller which makes him sometimes stay in the air forever and second most of his moves are punishable on shield.
elex they are only judging naruto only to his recovery and that they are not fixing his rasenshuriken. He should not be like this. I don’t even think his recovery is that bad.
Lloyd should be top tier cause some of his moves you can literally spam.....and when you have a fireflower or some ranged weapon on him your enemy is a goner even if hes lvl 9 goku
Ayy, I used to play Tails _very_ far back into SSF2 and I've gotta say he's climbed up since then. And he's had some changes to moves too from what I can see, which confused me, but I've gotta say it's completely fine. Best of luck to anyone trying to pick him up, he's a fun character.
Just to help you with Sandbag (I don't main him but I got an idea why hes is in that placing) is the fact he does have powerful, slow combo. He can spawn in items that can benefit himself, or an ally if in team battle (And of course enemies, which slightly makes this ability not the best, but not the worse), what makes him lack to be higher up though is his recovery, he doesn't have a good recovery for going up, but a good one for sideways which even can stop counter attacks if done correctly, what also keeps them lacking is that the ability not being able to grab ledges cause sandbag is...well....a sandbag. So yeah, that's kinda what I got. Not sure about buffs or nerfs.
J DC || I wouldn't say you're biased about Sm4sh's balance by being a Villager main. He's been high tier for the majority of the game's meta, which is great but not obnoxious. Imo, characters should be balanced so that they feel like mid or high tiers - where they have a few strengths, but one or two notable weaknesses. Rather than... Cloud and Bayonetta who have like one weakness kind of.
Yeah, when you finally are good at a character, it gets nerfed. It just gets annoying. A few nerfs are okay, but do them only at the beginning. Now the meta changes so much you cant play as your favorite character competitevly. (Idk how to spell that, sorry im not english) imagine tournaments lol.
My biggest complaint with the tier list is pac-man's placement. Not only did Kyoz drop him but it turned out that the Key Glitch itself was overrated once a little birdie spoiled how it worked. The fact that you not only have to refresh the hitbox each time through rolling through a hydrant makes it hard to setup. Not only that but the fact that you have to wait for the key to bounce on the hydrant 3 times (It will automatically disappear if the opponent or you interferes with the trampoline either beforehand or during the technique) makes it almost impossible to setup against an opponent with an IQ that is higher than 30 that knows the tech. Pac-Man relies on ONLY jank and he fundamentally has a ton of issues as a character. His Kill power is unreliable and generally bad unless you want to risk getting killed with hydrant, his normals outside of N-Air are bad, he has lackluster range except for his smash attacks (Sluggish) and N-Air (His only good Normal). Pac-Man has a lackluster punish game and combo game for racking up damage properly outside of hydrant and Pac-Man has an extremely easy to predict recovery and Pac-Man has predictable landing issues as he relies too much on hydrants and N-Air making it easy to detect Pac-Man's movements. He also has A TON of matchup issues with pretty much most of the cast as he loses to most characters in general and only wins against the bottom tiers and maybe a couple of low tiers. Definently a Low Tier character AT LEAST now that Kyoz is gone.
I used to play smash flash 2 with my friends when I didn't have the official game and my favorite characters were lloyd and tails. This was before I knew of the tier list.
First of all this isn't Bowler's tier list, it was made by the ssf2 backroom which Bowler is in but he didn't have influence on the placing in the tier list. Second Pichu was added in 1.1.0. This is a 1.0.3.2 tier list and 1.3.0.2 is before 1.1.0. Also Mega Man time: 8:35 to 8:51
Pit would of been mid tier if it weren't for the new multihit changes. He certainly isn't bottom 5 but he's def bottom 10 or near bottom 10. Pit's frame data isn't spectacular, his combo game is underwhelming, a lot of his moves don't connect properly, his damage output is pretty bad, his recovery is exploitable, and he relies too much on Down-Smash for reliable kills along with having a very small playerbase and very minimal results. He still has his niche as a sniper and he does have some decent things here and there. But he has way too many fundamental issues to be good now because of the new multi-hit system.
I haven't played that much Sandbag, but one thing I do know is his Side Special is great for the All Star challenges. One character I am playing often is Sora since I'm getting into Kingdom Hearts with Recoded and 358/2 Days. His combo potential seems pretty good, as in his own games. Though I have to make sure to use Side Special away from the edge. I keep falling off.

Yeah Bomberman is way better than Mario imo because he is faster and has a better neutral and combo game.

Wrong, Sonic have the "kill" set ups, His f-air, did you forget it? you can combo it from D-throw, U-throw (Just Fast Falers and heavy Weights) and a mix up from F-Throw to f-air which it is good Mix up to Edge guard your opponent, he had B-throw which kills at high %'s. his Recovery is NOT predictable, if it is predictable he wouldn't reach the stage or the ledge safely Just like little mac. i am one of the Good sonic player as well with Spin Dashes and Spin shots (which it is Advance Technique) as Neutral B edge guard (with F-air at the blast zone or to spike them)
Honestly thoguh, that side-B on tails is broken. I have him as a secondary and DEVASTATE with that side-B. Plus, it can combo into up-B, and if you have quick enough reactions, you can keep doing it or combo it into an aerial.

Tails is awesome in SSF2 beta and I would love to see him in a actual smash bros game. I know Mccleodgaming doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo, but maybe they wanted Tails for Smash and wanted to show off how good he is and maybe that's why Tails is top tier, that and his side B and down A are both OP.

I'm a Bowser main and I win games, but that doesn't mean he's good. I think Bowser deserves to be where he's at, and I'd say the same for Luigi. Luigi doesn't have the best of frame data and can be predicted and punished pretty easily.

TheBeep Wait, but how are they just as good as sm4sh's? I guess you can space the distance correctly to sort of snap to ledge, but such an attempt is obvious, and your opponent is bound to attack you.

I got this from a weapon tier list for Splatoon 2 but it can also work for this game.
I think black mage should be a little bit higher like maybe 1-2 more spots. He's quite strong and fun to play as. Plus his down air (the sycthe) is sorta hard to get the death feature, but it's real helpful when you throw your opponent off the stage and the grim reaper literally throws the opponent down so fast.

uh ok heres my opinions xd
1.) sora should be higher because of his combo game and safe pressure, as well as his very high mixup capabilities (close to no unusable moves, 3 different types of down b)
2.) shiek should be higher because of her ability to dismiss defensive play with baits and projectiles that does insane amounts of damage, as well as having (in my opinion) a better dashdance than captain falcon
3.) dk is still as much combo food as he used to be, and his moves tend to be pretty unsafe with lag. he also has one the worst vertical recovery in the game so lots of characters with spikes can combo him off the edge. also, he gets very little from grabs.
4.) bowser should be higher because of his more powerful yet safer aerials than dk's. also able to land easier with down b

the reason why sora is so low is because he is slow faller which makes him sometimes stay in the air forever and second most of his moves are punishable on shield.

Ayy, I used to play Tails _very_ far back into SSF2 and I've gotta say he's climbed up since then. And he's had some changes to moves too from what I can see, which confused me, but I've gotta say it's completely fine.

Just to help you with Sandbag (I don't main him but I got an idea why hes is in that placing) is the fact he does have powerful, slow combo. He can spawn in items that can benefit himself, or an ally if in team battle (And of course enemies, which slightly makes this ability not the best, but not the worse), what makes him lack to be higher up though is his recovery, he doesn't have a good recovery for going up, but a good one for sideways which even can stop counter attacks if done correctly, what also keeps them lacking is that the ability not being able to grab ledges cause sandbag is...well....a sandbag. So yeah, that's kinda what I got. Not sure about buffs or nerfs.

J DC || I wouldn't say you're biased about Sm4sh's balance by being a Villager main. He's been high tier for the majority of the game's meta, which is great but not obnoxious. Imo, characters should be balanced so that they feel like mid or high tiers - where they have a few strengths, but one or two notable weaknesses. Rather than... Cloud and Bayonetta who have like one weakness kind of.
Yeah, when you finally are good at a character, it gets nerfed. It just gets annoying. A few nerfs are okay, but do them only at the beginning. Now the meta changes so much you cant play as your favorite character competitevly. (Idk how to spell that, sorry im not english) imagine tournaments lol.

My biggest complaint with the tier list is pac-man's placement. Not only did Kyoz drop him but it turned out that the Key Glitch itself was overrated once a little birdie spoiled how it worked. The fact that you not only have to refresh the hitbox each time through rolling through a hydrant makes it hard to setup. Not only that but the fact that you have to wait for the key to bounce on the hydrant 3 times (It will automatically disappear if the opponent or you interferes with the trampoline either beforehand or during the technique) makes it almost impossible to setup against an opponent with an IQ that is higher than 30 that knows the tech.
Pac-Man relies on ONLY jank and he fundamentally has a ton of issues as a character. His Kill power is unreliable and generally bad unless you want to risk getting killed with hydrant, his normals outside of N-Air are bad, he has lackluster range except for his smash attacks (Sluggish) and N-Air (His only good Normal). Pac-Man has a lackluster punish game and combo game for racking up damage properly outside of hydrant and Pac-Man has an extremely easy to predict recovery and Pac-Man has predictable landing issues as he relies too much on hydrants and N-Air making it easy to detect Pac-Man's movements. He also has A TON of matchup issues with pretty much most of the cast as he loses to most characters in general and only wins against the bottom tiers and maybe a couple of low tiers. Definently a Low Tier character AT LEAST now that Kyoz is gone.

First of all this isn't Bowler's tier list, it was made by the ssf2 backroom which Bowler is in but he didn't have influence on the placing in the tier list. Second Pichu was added in 1.1.0. This is a 1.0.3.2 tier list and 1.3.0.2 is before 1.1.0. Also Mega Man time: 8:35 to 8:51

Pit would of been mid tier if it weren't for the new multihit changes. He certainly isn't bottom 5 but he's def bottom 10 or near bottom 10.
Pit's frame data isn't spectacular, his combo game is underwhelming, a lot of his moves don't connect properly, his damage output is pretty bad, his recovery is exploitable, and he relies too much on Down-Smash for reliable kills along with having a very small playerbase and very minimal results. He still has his niche as a sniper and he does have some decent things here and there. But he has way too many fundamental issues to be good now because of the new multi-hit system.

I haven't played that much Sandbag, but one thing I do know is his Side Special is great for the All Star challenges. One character I am playing often is Sora since I'm getting into Kingdom Hearts with Recoded and 358/2 Days. His combo potential seems pretty good, as in his own games. Though I have to make sure to use Side Special away from the edge. I keep falling off.
