Gordon imo was more impressive during the contest but it could of went either way. This year, though, he got robbed for real.

He got robbed for real in 2016. In the last round Lavine followed Gordon with the same dunk, but with less creativity. He should've never got a 50 for that. And it shouldn't have went into sudden death. The judges only explanation was that they were enjoying it so much they wanted to see more.
No one glides through the air the way Zach does. His dunks are so smooth it’s incredible.
One of the most underrated parts for Lavine was that he always went second and had more pressure on him to deliver and he still came through on the first attempt each time. But both tremendous dunkers.
Lavine followed Gordon with same dunks, but with less creativity. How is that underrated, if he still gets a 50 with a less difficult dunk?

Watch Vince from 99-2002 he was way more than just a dunker and is easily a top 10 sg of all time but most people only think he was good at dunking they don't remember how clutch of a player he was who was also a great 3 point shooter

2. Starts at the free throw line (this alone is harder for anybody)
3. No push offs
4. Timing
Its harder to do tricks 15ft out than jumping over a 6ft+ mascot holding a ball with a factor off pushing off to elevate your jump higher

should've awarded those 2 guys a tie. best dunk contest in nba history. michael vs. dominique was iconic and prob the best until now, but this was the most creative showdown of any all star weekend in nba history. the league needs to make the dunk contest a celebrity event. get dudes like jordan kilganon and tyreek hill in the contest instead of the farce that was this year's event.

That was one of the best contests for sure since Carter, Francis and TMac. LaVine could jump from the FT line, he's a glider, Aaron is more of a two legged power dunker. I felt Gordon went out of tricks at the end.
