    FYI, the best coating I’ve ever used on exhaust manifold is dry graphite spray. It doesn’t burn off and keeps it from rusting. Not on topic, but I thought I’d pass along. This was a great series.

    Elin, I just watched a YT video last week where a rebuild shop owner was complaining about the size variation of freeze plugs he uses when rebuilding engines. He measured a number of plugs and the diameters were all over the place.

    With new valves and valve seats I would expect the valves to actually bed-in over the first few miles, so maybe the valve clearances would become a thou or two tighter?

    Elin I always thought that most core plugs are a concave disc that fits snugly into a register and then you have to punch the centre of the core plug to get it to flatten and spread into the register to seal itself. These are different?
