Lacks a bit in melodic complexity, and the chord structure isn't perfect, but the composer's command of emotion is so great that it shines through powerfully anyway.
Synthwave isn't about melodic complexity. If you are looking for very complex melodies then organ works by J. S. Bach or Buxtehude would be the best choice. Synthwave is about a certain feeling and atmosphere. This one is a good example of the feel good variety of this style. It is either what you call Outrun or maybe Spacewave and it is more melodic than some other in the genre I would say.
