- On the 16th of January 2020 Robert Wilson was stabbed over 100 times & nearly decapitated by 16 year old Luke Gaukroger & 18 year old Kiyran Earnshaw after he and staff approached the group after they came onto his work property that being Thornton & Ross factory on Manchester Road in Linthwaite.
The pair where handed life sentences.

Sadly this is getting more common in the UK. Life with a minimum? Those two should never be given a chance to parole and be released from prison. What they did to Robert was beyond sadistic and evil….hearing the details made me sick. RIP Robert.
In the UK, minors cannot be sentenced to Whole Life Tariffs - where a life sentence means no release. Life with a minimum sentence means just that - they spend AT LEAST that amount of time in prison and have to be reviewed by a parole board to see if they'll be released. I seriously doubt they ever will be. If they are, they spend the rest of their life "on license" - meaning if they commit any other similar offences (i.e. violent crime) - they're returned to prison automatically for the rest of their life. It may seem strange, but the only sentence for murder is life imprisonment. The minimum term and tariff system is a way to differentiate different scales of seriousness between different murders. A person who murders an elderly relative who's dying of a horrible illness is not evil like these guys, but if found guilty of murder, would still get a "life" sentence. So there's a need to differentiate.

You don't understand how prison in the UK work. Those are the minimums they have to serve, they aren't released automatically when those minimums are served. They have to be released on parole after serving the minimums and that is highly fucking unlikely to happen.

Yeah about 4-5 months ago a child was raped down here in freshwater and their parents caught the guy doing it. if you google it should pop up the guy is still yet to be sentenced but is remanded until January 8th. because if he was allowed on bail I know a lot of people who was offering to pay to find where he lives so real justice could be served. Minimum of 16 & 22 years is not enough. They should never get out. What ever excuse people can come up with, “Showing off in front of a girl, fuelled with drugs and alcohol,” is no excuse at all. The family of Robert, will suffer for the rest of their lives as well as John and others who witnessed this act.
They don't ever *have* to get out. The minimum term is how long they must spend before they can even go before the parole board, absolutely no guarantee of the parole board granting release. In fact most murderers fail on their first shot at parole anyway, having to wait 2 years for another go.

16 years and 22 years are not life sentences
I think the 16/22 year minimum term is time spent in prison. If they are released their life will still be heavily restricted. I doubt they'll ever be released though.

I had a pathetic attempt at mugging a couple of months ago, by three lads who were absolute clones of these lads, same language same mannerisms implied they had a knife , but never showed it. You need be passive aggressive and reactive, I was very close to chinning one but they never crossed the physical barrier due to our size difference. They got bored and left. They went on to stab a young lad for his mope-head 3 weeks later the guy lost his head with them and that was the difference, I just kept saying nothings happening and asking when they were going to do the stuff they were threatening without flipping.
Unfortunately these vermin go around in big groups which are extremely intimidating. You can guarantee in a one on one situation nothing will be said or done. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to run away from a big group of teens walking home from work. The uk is getting terrible now. These kids need to be stopped.
