Bro I came in the comments to say exactly the same thing ! It’s nothing like showing your old man your accomplishments . He has to be proud I mean there riding around in probably the first K24 powered jet boat
With some good reflective insulation on the engine cover and foam on the back seats it’ll be fine! Definitely going to need a water jacketed exhaust with a turbo kit. Good thing you guys are expecting to do that, it’ll get way too hot in the engine compartment otherwise.
A water jacketed exhaust will not help much with temp the manifold and turbo are the hottest part and need the heat to be effective if you cool pre turbo or the turbine housing you will have a super laggy turbo you need to retain the heat inside the turbo and manifold What you want is inconel heat shield it's the best
@kiwifruit2022 there a big difference with a water cooled turbo center housing and a water cooled header there a big difference between cooling the header = less heat and wrapping the header to keep the heat inside but whatever clown
Small cars + small trailers are an absolute vibe. I towed my homemade harbor freight 4'x6' trailer from Houston to Chicago with my lifted Miata. Perfect size for dirt bikes 🤘
My friend used to tow a trailer for his wheels at drift days ….. with his mx5 / miata People laughed at him for the tow bar-then struggled to get two wheels in their car 😅
I used to pull my 30" riding mower and all my other lawn equipment around on a 4X6 utility trailer with my stock manual 93 Accord while I saved up money to get the transmission in my 88 F150 rebuilt. It pulled all that weight no problem up to 70 mph. I felt like it could go up to 90 but past 75 felt real sketch.
Some heat shielding peel and seal would work to keep the heat from penitrating through the aluminum and cut down engine noise as well maybe that can work for yall as well
If there's one thing I've learned, it's to never sleep on the hatch... the hatch has always been the Mike Tyson of the fleet to me💯 been here since 10k Subs. You guys should be super proud of the growth in the achievements you have far succeeded that's freaking inspiration! Two guys I've met a handful of times, yeah I feel like I've known them my whole life.. weird? I guess when they're good down to earth guys, and we both share a passion with building fun fast cars.. much love from the Carolinas
The ket boat is sick you really made us proud on this not cutting corners. Do the reverse and the drain with an automatic Bilge pump and the water cooled manifold. Finally a turbo kit and anodizing the whole boat would be epic
A water cool manifold on a turbo setup is a really bad idea unless you want a super laggy turbo Turbo need heat if you cool the exhaust before the turbo it will kill spool And just doing a downpipe water cooled will not help much the best bet is inconel heat shield and as a bonus it will keep more heat in the system=increased turbo response and efficiency
Lost my pops earlier this year seeing this with that music in the back ground tore me up. If you remember that man saying he wanted to do something in the last few years, MAKE if happen!!! Keep up the good content you all make a team.
Man that's my favorite setup on a jet boat yet. The K series fits so well with the seats and cover built around it. You could easily heatproof/sound deaden the whole bottom of that cover. Also we want to see a AWD trailer burnout 🤣
Might want some bilge pumps for when you do that Cleeter moment with the Dew boat. Other than that and the upcoming turbo kit it's pretty much up there! Will not be a bad idea to double up on the ventilation with a push-pull...you'd love the turbo suck in some fresh air and keeps air moving around to make it even cooler for the backseat. You can tune the boat on the water and just run it through...the water is your dyno roller!
For now to keep temps down on that seat why not wrap the exhaust and manifold in heat wrap. The other thing that can help is the gold tape you can put that on the inside of the seat/cover and it won't heat up as much.
@@lllllllllllllllllllll1lll1 yea i know those garmins are pricey but it would be worth it id pimp that thing out with tech im curious if they are gonna do a interior in it to add some comfort
Half of the fun of watching your videos is reading the comments. What a friggin awesome crowd you got following you guys. Sincerely upping my faith in humanity..
I have a trailer modification suggestion; you both are great fabricators so you shouldn't have any proiblem cutting and rewelding the cross members of the trailer to match the cross sections of the boat bottom. Then you can lower your stringers thus allowing the boat to sit lower in the trailer. That will make launching and loading your boat much easier and you won't have to back so deep into the water, especially if you are using the Hatch to tow it with. Its something you can do in a day or two and you won't regret it. Have fun!
Awesome stuff boys! Looks like it could have done with trimming up a bit, was pushing a little bit of water. Rule of thumb, all spray should be coming from the back half of the boat while the front is completely out of the water. Can’t wait for some boost!
Reminds me of when I pulled a water tank to my trailer with my b20b VTEC 97 integra with jdm front end conversion. 25 years old 14 years ago... Enjoy your 20s moments to look back on.
Not sure if anyone may have already mentioned it, but to help draw the heat out of that engine compartment you could cut an intake vent into the front of the cover under the cup holders. Draw some cooler air through that compartment. Otherwise it's an awesome rig.
Exhaust fan is backwards. You want it blowing in not sucking out. Your engine, especially once turbo is installed will be competing for air. Have the engine bay in a positive pressure rather than a negative. Also that plane is an Icon a5. Folds up in minutes and is trailerable. Pretty cool.
Awesome work, guys! But definitely get yourself a bilge pump before you go out next time. And spend a little extra and get an oversized pump. After all that work on the boat and engine, give yourself some insurance with a good bilge pump.
Kyle my brother. You have made it so far. I've been watching you since the og days of the real st hoody way before you teamed up with parts finder international. I am an aluminum polisher. If I was closer I'd do some probono work to make that boat a mirror. (5k value) Unfortunately I'm way up in ontario Canada so it doesn't seem feasible or I would for sure. You keep it up man love the content. Even tho I'm stuck in the b series days still love to see the k stuff. Keep it real man, and thank you from us at 519 polishing 😎
I’m not sure how you plan on water cooling the manifold but I’d recommend against it. Heat is also a big component when spooling a turbocharger. Maybe after the turbo would be ideal. Maybe on a boat it isn’t a problem, I’m not sure.
The purpose of the bilge fan is to evacuate flammable vapors before starting engine. Gasoline produces ignitable vapors that are 3 to 4 times heavier than air and can travel for great distances along low areas. Gas vapors tend to accumulate in low or enclosed spaces, especially in boats. These vapors can be ignited by an spark or arc from any electrical induced source. Solution to proper ventilation is to have fan drawing fresh outside air, ducted to the bottom of the boat to push out any contaminated/flammable vapors out the open vented side. It's also standard procedure to run the vent fan of enclosed engine boats at least 5 minutes prior to starting. Another easy solution to all the above is, open engine cover while getting ready and backing down ramp, start motor, then close cover. Bottom line is to have be safe, have fun and no boom💥
You should put dynaliner under the cover for the engine. It would reduce heat and noise and it's moisture resistant so it won't get mold or mildew. Can't wait for the turbski to go on it and see it jump some logs.
That Honda reliability on a boat, so cool. Looks amazing too, could probably run it all day without worrying too much about fuel consumption in it's NA state.
when you take it out on the river and dont want to dive under the boat to pull waterplants out of the intake you prolly need to add sumting to clear the grates under the boat , i know cleetus has a footpedal sitting on the swimming platform that pushes a comb or sumting like that through the grate
Like the jet boat.Turb water charged cooler all from out side the boat make it simple about 500 HP keep it out tke sea and away from the salt and it will rip past the jet ski models👍
Pro tip, always start your jet boat or jetski and run for a few seconds before putting the pump in water. When there is water load on the pump it can cause starting issues on a fresh first start. Don't know if that will be an issue with that motor or not since I'm sure the starter has plenty of torque
Definitely going to have to cut a breather hole for when you turbo. Iat's are going to kill that k. Makes me wanna go get a jet boat kit! Love you guys!
I hope you guys use a tiny little turbo (or at least not a big one) on the jet boat. You really need it to have low end boost and torque. If you’re not making boost until 5-6k, you’ll have the same problem as now: you’ll hit a wall.

Don't forget rubber edge trim for the edge of the hatch door on the jet boat. It will help reduce vibration when turbo'd

Planes inspect there run way for boaters waves before the take off. Keep eye on temp when jet pump gets clogged. If that still the coolant inlet

Definitely need to get a nice little garmin setup with a suction cup mount for speed and water depth I think that would be super legitimate
Depth sounder for sure. Super useful when you're dealing with tides. Hardwired marine VHF system would be good too.

Monster, just look at the seats
Well done as always fellas. That jet boat is clean, simple and classy. All of your builds are proper and functional. Very Nice.
Project turned out awesome. Congrats. Im really excited for some turbo action on the water though.
As a young guy, its one of my dream to take my dad on trips like this playing with toys i built. Thanks for inspiring us from the start boiz.

Great job guys. Towing a boat with a 700 hp awd Honda. Epic!
Need to drag week with the hatch towing the boat full of tools and parts
Maybe some stick-on heat barrier on the underside of the cover? It would be pretty cheap to do a small area.
That gold heat reflective tape saved the paint in my hood

You should put dynaliner under the cover for the engine. It would reduce heat and noise and it's moisture resistant so it won't get mold or mildew. Can't wait for the turbski to go on it and see it jump some logs.
You should put some insulation liner under the rear hatch to help keep passengers and the hatch cooler
I would actually consider supercharging this one for the heat.
Very expensive, and complex
How about isolating with thermal coating the inside/underside of the rearseats? Will help with noise and heat!
That Honda reliability on a boat, so cool. Looks amazing too, could probably run it all day without worrying too much about fuel consumption in it's NA state.
Throwing a few sheets of stick-on heat shielding on the inside of the seats would do a lot towards keeping the seat cool.

Hello Boosted Pop! Very cool you get to hang with your pops enjoy it man.
Cool seeing your dad out on boat 🤙🏻
The vise grips up on the front window tho 👌 good ole boostedboiz fashion
Good work, boiz.
Heads up, the blower should be ducted to the bottom of the hull to best evacuate any fuel fumes since they are heavier than air.
I'm excited to see PFI and the Freedom Civic against "The Hatch"!!!

it's so funny how the hatch and the boat sound identical minus the blow off valve.
