But there is one thing I noticed is that if you begin to type in the search bar a dropdown of possible results show up and unfortunately the private items show up, but other than that everything works as you explained in your helpful video. Hope you can fix this!
You can load the product in use a tag such as private and the customers name / PRIVATEMARY. Then use that tag in the collection. Keep the collection in DRAFT and the customer would need to tell you when they need to log in and than out the entire collection in ACTIVE. Put back in draft when they're done

I do multiple fundraising events & different price points for same product & so lost. I’m paying for multiple platforms for each fundraiser group and it’s insane. Help

However I encountered a problem along hiding the item in the All Product page. the code didn't work ~ I used a different word, and not "private", do I still edit the "isPrivateProduct" code to that word i used? Example word, Pink, do I change it to "isPinkProduct" or just edit the {if tag == 'private'} Thanks in advance!

Hi i tried this, it's absolutely great an i think it can work for what i am after. The one thing i was able to do, was as a logged in user, if i chose to send that link of the product when open, this could be ac cessed by a person not logged in. is this true with you or have I done something a bit silly :D either way thanks for creating this awesome code.

This is the error: Liquid error (templates/collection.private line 2): Error in tag 'section' - 'main-collection-product-grid' is not a valid section type. I'm not sure if its because I'm using a different theme? MY theme is Showcase.

Hello, this would be perfect for me but unfortunately, I am not getting the screen you have. I'm using dawn 13.0.1 and it's not allowing me to "add a new template" to add the name and it is not showing me the option to select the ".liquid" file. I only get the .json. Is there another way?
@@WebSensePro I found out that there is a predictive-search.liquid section now in the new version of dawn. This is another area where this needs to be blocked.

Its easier to load the product twice and select different tags - this way if you don't put the Private collection on your storefront the one tagged private will not show anywhere

You can put the product in draft mode and your private customer would have to inform you when they need to log in and then put the products in active

Hmmm... with another IF condition in main-product liquid file. We can overcome this issue also

What if the new collection doesn't have any customer yet. When they sign up, does it automatically add the private tag?
No you will have to manually add Private tag

will this work on all themes or just Dawn? I currently run Impulse theme but can not seem to find the code for steps 2-4 that needs to be changed.
Tutorial is for Dawn theme but logic of the code can be implementes on all themes

This way the product in DRAFT never populates if another customer is searching on the website because its not ACTIVE
