This video shows Zappa on 1988 Tour. The last until he got sick.... I was on this show in Paris. The band played Stairway to heaven and Ravel's boléro. The show ended with I'm the Walrus..... At the begining of the show, Frank came with a streamer where it was wrote: " Today, composers never die...." Sad prémonition...
The black and white video intro was Barcelona's airport 10/1974 . Frank Zappa played in Badalona-Barcelona (Catalonia) 10/04/1974 , at 10.15 p.m. I was sixteen and of course , I was there . I remembered songs from Apostrophe , Over-Nite Sensation , Chunga's Revenge ...
My only Zappa show was this lineup, Durham NC. Along with the great material, they were doing some deeply weird stage antics & special fx. Didn't help that I was tripping my balls off at age 16. I wish now that I wasn't. & yes, Estrada was on the gig.
Awesome! but it's a little disconcerting to show concert footage from another song. :| edit, yah like another guy said, yah this audio is Osaka for sure but video is from 1988. weird
In the video that I see here it is Scott Thunes on bass and the t-shirt Frank is wearing, is the same as in the 1988 Barcelona video. Furthermore Frank plays some synclavier fills before grabbing his guitar...

Un très très grand Monsieur de la Musique. Même le plus Grand pour moi. Je suis un " ZAPPASIEN "
Really loved Andre Lewis. Wish he was around longer. Love that ripping style. But Tommy mars came right after so I guess it worked out.
I used to listen to this bootleg in the early 80’s accompanied by a lot of good dope.

Andre cleaning the boards, very nice!

Yeah, it was said that Frank scared the kids over there, great concerts in Spain at the time

Great
what greatness sounds like
The version from kyoto is great too!
This song reminds me of King Crimson so much!! FZ and KC ftw!!!
am I wrong or these are very good quality video of Live in Barcellona? overe the Net i found the most common version with low quality video :-(
Ostias! al principio salen las famosas imagenes de Zappa metiendose en el maletero del coche!!!
Yes, they are from Barcelona, Spain
Faultless.
I think this was Franks best guitar tone ever.
It seemed like each tour had its own distinct tone set. This growly, nasal tone was one of the best ones, I agree.
Cigarettes took the most talented guitar player of all time away from us (and the one of the best composers too).
i don't think it was smoking related
Prostate cancer that was misdiagnosed from smoking? Doubtful.
it's was prostate cancer I believe.
cool zappa!
this look more like the mid 80'es
Is this from the same concert Black Napkins (from Zoot Allures album) was recorded?
evil and dark like chocolate and garlic

@MrMariodave there all great
Very tasty...mmmm
This was 1988... not '76.
Roy Estrada on bass in 1976, really?
Yes, really.
The audio and the video are from different tours, over a decade apart. Read the info from wazoo17 more carefully.
