Feeding some of my beehives on the edge of town on May 18. #beehive #beekeeping #australianbush #beehivemanagement #beehives #bees #beeswarm #honey #beevlog #honeybees
I’d say the equivalent of 4 frames of honey in the single hives. Which looks more like two frames of honey and a decent band of honey along the brood frames. That would be minimum, ideally 5 honey frames and 3 brood frames in an 8 frame box. I’ve got fondant ready to put on any that are a bit light. I’m more just feeding these to stimulate them to raise brood because I need the bee numbers for the bees to qualify for almond pollination. If there’s a few light ones I can also give them frames of honey from some of my other stronger hives.
Would love to see how you introduce the mini nuc queen to a bigger hive (if you need to). When do almonds bloom there? Thanks for the vid!
When does almond pollination start down there?
August
How much honey are you looking for over winter survival in general?

Great to see you going through the bees
