Prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Pietruska jest absolwentką Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Białymstoku na Wydziale Lekarskim z Oddziałem Stomatologii (1992 rok). Z białostocką uczelnią związała się również zawodowo po uzyskaniu dyplomu lekarza stomatologa. Posiada specjalizację pierwszego stopnia z zakresu stomatologii ogólnej i drugiego stopnia z periodontologii. Początkowo pracowała w Zakładzie Stomatologii Zachowawczej. Od 2005 roku jest kierownikiem Zakładu Chorób Przyzębia i Błony Śluzowej Jamy Ustnej UMB. W 1995 roku uzyskała stopień doktora nauk medycznych, w 2006 roku - stopień doktora habilitowanego. Zaś w 2013 roku otrzymała tytuł profesora nauk medycznych. Jest autorką i współautorką ponad 160 artykułów naukowych, 74 komunikatów zjazdowych i dwóch monografii. Prowadzi wykłady dla studentów w kształceniu przeddyplomowym, a także kursy podyplomowe dla lekarzy dentystów z zakresu periodontologii i implantologii oraz chorób błony śluzowej jamy ustnej. Jest również międzynarodowym wykładowcą European Federation of Periodontology. Należy do Polskiego Towarzystwa Stomatologicznego, Polskiego Towarzystwa Periodontologicznego, Ogólnopolskiego Stowarzyszenia Implantologii Stomatologicznej, Polskiego Towarzystwa Stomatologii Laserowej i Podlaskiego Stowarzyszenia Stomatologów. Jest członkiem honorowym Polskiej Akademii Stomatologii Estetycznej. Od 2006 roku piastuje funkcję konsultanta wojewódzkiego w dziedzinie periodontologii. Od 2008 roku jest też członkiem Uczelnianej Komisji Wyborczej UMB, a od 2020 roku - członkiem Zespołu Ekspertów ds. opracowania i aktualizacji programu specjalizacji z periodontologii.
Professor Małgorzata Pietruska is a graduate of the Medical University of Białystok, Faculty of Medicine with the Division of Dentistry and Division of Medical Education in English (1992). Having obtained her diploma in dentistry, she decided to pursue her professional career in the university. She holds a first-degree specialisation in general dentistry and a second-degree specialisation in periodontology. She initially worked in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Since 2005, she has been the head of the Department of Periodontal and Oral Mucosa Diseases at the Medical University of Białystok. She obtained the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1995 and a post-doctoral degree in 2006. In 2013, she was awarded the title of Professor of Medical Sciences. She is the author and co-author of more than 160 research papers, 74 scientific meeting communications, and two monographs. She lectures to students in undergraduate education and postgraduate courses for dentists in periodontology, implantology, and oral mucosal diseases. She is also an international lecturer for the European Federation of Periodontology. She is a member of the Polish Dental Society, the Polish Periodontological Society, the National Association of Dental Implantology, the Polish Society of Laser Dentistry, and the Podlasie Association of Dentists. She is an honorary member of the Polish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. Since 2006, she has held the position of the provincial consultant in periodontology. Since 2008, she has been a member of the University Electoral Committee at the Medical University of Białystok, and since 2020, a member of the expert team for the development and update of the periodontology specialisation programme.
