love these videos but i have 3 issues or more like advice or critique: 1. the sound needs improving! 2. there was no need for the obvious islamaphobic propaganda at 2:18 and 3. the advertisement at the beginning of the video just ruins the whole experience of this great immersive video!

@@muslimresponse103 Hey now, we gotta make a living somehow 😆 We do avoid putting sponsorship segments in the middle of the video in order to keep that immersion. To point 2, do remember that that is not a commentary on Islam, but rather the uniquely stratified mid-to-late Abbasid society. The Ahmed source cited in the description gives a pretty good overview of the matter if you're interested. Anyhow, thank you for watching!

@AileDiablo Estimates I've seen of the Mongol army are somewhat higher numbers and higher in % of Mongols vs. mercenaries and Chinese (who were mostly used for siege engineering). Though nowhere near the fabulous numbers given by chroniclers of the time. Even so, large medieval European kingdoms like France struggled to field armies larger than 40,000 by tremendous effort and taxation. And those armies could only keep the field for a season without endangering the harvest. A Mongol army would've been a "horde" to them.

At that time, Georgia was a tributary state to the Mongol Empire, so, apart from paying a tribute, Georgians had to fight on the side of Mongols upon request. The Mongols assembled a huge army and marched toward the city of Baghdad in 1258; the Georgian King David VII, also known as David Ulugh, "David the Senior" in the Mongol language, with a small Georgian army was part of the punitive campaign. It`s said that the Georgians overshadowed even the Mongols in savagery, putting to the sword the denizens of Baghdad indiscriminately. The Arabs annexed Georgia back in the 7th century and managed to maintain their rule for four centuries; up until 12 century. They devastated the Georgian Kingdom on more than one occasion.
