Operating out of abundance, like a true boss. This video was a prime example of why I love Rick. Dude could've so easily gatekept and looked at that dude as competition but instead he didn't even hesitate to offer his help in every way he can. Retro Rick is for the people 🙏
Josh got fleeced. There's a reason why Rick is downsizing on toys - no one goes to a gameshop to buy them! If you've got to thank anyone it's Josh for purchasing all the bad stock that hasn't been selling
Why not have a case with weird and unusual things, so when costumers come to the store and asks about the most rare and unusual items in the store, well here it is!
All Volume RE-seller do that stuff. They don't clean the item after they gotten it too or 100 percent test them out. Only thing I have to admit that rick actually clean the item. The things and channel that i see what re-seller do after they got items that been sitting around barns and storage with rat poop etc it is disguisting
Make the glass case the store employee's recommendations for the month. Whether it be games, or a sale on a particular item, or just whatever they recommend from the inventory within the store.
Best days of my life was playing with my micro machines. Worst days of my life. In the basement, the TV/lights/NES was hooked up to the light switch at the top of the stairs. Good bad or dinner time my pops would flick that switch while playing videos games.
Went to the store the other day, it was fantastic! For the case you could do something like a "Game point recommended" or something similar to the those signs you have on the new switch games. Having some recommendations in one area is always nice. The themed case is also a fantastic idea though! Would love to see pokemon or legend of zelda.
I recommend using the case for some clearance items. It will help you keep track of the more tougher sales and give your customers a chance to look at some cheaper games to make them feel they are getting a deal or if they are on a budget.
There is a fun thing you can do with the case. A recommended section or and employee section. Each person gets their spot to show what they like in the store and what they are currently playing. Sections like these are used in many stores as an introduction to the staff. Its really fun for the staff and its a nice way to get customers to ask questions as to what a person might recommend as the employee has similar tastes as they do. I know its a little cliched but I used to think that was so cool when I saw it in stores I visited. I doubt mine will be picked but if I had a store I would do that as its fun for everyone and a nice intro. I have more ideas but wanted to be fair so just picked one.
I Love Your Idea. I was going to suggest a Theme Case as you were mentioning this. Switch it up each Month. Consider a Tour of All the Keepers from Trade Ins to the Store ? Happy Holidays to ALL 🎅🤶☃️❄⛄
Pokémon for the case is a great idea but at the same time it’s going to fly off the shelf and the case would always seem empty so maybe it’s not a great idea
Pokémon is a good idea for the glass display case, but I was thinking of a display case full of your game store merchandise.Furthermore, I enjoyed this video again, it is always fun and interesting to see the behind the scenes of your video games Store.
You could also rotate the case monthly of items so people will look forward to see what’s new in the case each month like with unusual items and all that.
The case should be a employee suggestion case. Each employee has a game suggestion and each week could be a different theme. Like one week it could be mario games and the next week could be multiplayer games. Maybe in October the whole month could be theme around horror.
An idea for the case: use it for a themed sale case (like you said with Pokemon) but change the contents every 3 months to keep it fresh, which will cause regulars to come back often to see what’s new!
Themed cases are fun and a great visual attraction, the store by me has a few. The only issue is if someone goes to a certain console section looking for a game and doesn't see it (for example, a Pokemon Switch game), they may walk out instead of looking in the themed case or asking.
Glass case - I would do a retro ricks favourites! Put in what you love from the retro scene, so people can see what you like personally. A good way to build connections and conversation
I would suggest using the case for weird and wonderful items highlighted from the store. Things that normally you have in the back or on the back walls. Something that really causes customers to come in every month - just to have a look at the selection there, knowing that it's either partially or fully coming up for sale. One of my big detractors I have with buying games is when I come in every few weeks and it's essentially the same stock being shown in the same places. It means I have no incentive to come in more often. So if I come in more often, I will spend more often too.
I know a comment already said this Rick but it’s really awesome how you treated the competition game store owner. We should live in a world where we have more of that. My recommendation for the glass case is similar to what you mentioned Rick but I propose you should make it a…⬇️ Top 10 (RPG, or Platformer, or Fighting game, insert game genre here) Games of All Time case. It will spark debate amongst fellow retro gamers that pop into the store, create fun conversations with employees, and it is a good recommendation tool for folks who like genres but haven’t tried something. (Kind of like a fancier version of staff picks, but collectively what the store believes are the Top 10 Beat’Em ups/game genre etc.) I feel like (while a great idea don’t get me wrong) the all Pokemon case or all Smash Bros case is too similar to the lil video game pop culture history wall section you got. Regardless, keep up that great work Rick, your do a fantastic job in the community 🍻
i think that case should be retro rick originals. items you bought during the $10 game challenge or directly from your youtube vids. something as a tribute to the channel itself. its why we all love this channel, because of your og youtube days.
Glass case idea for ya, have an ‘Items For Sale From Other Members Of The Community’ case. You can get with other people in the Gaming UA-cam space (video idea for ya) that want to sell items and feature them and their item in that case. Limit it to one or 2 items per person and have their channels and info with them. You could have 4 or 5 peoples items and rotate them out while you pick up more from others.
I have an idea for the empty display case. Have your friend make you some 3D printed coins with your logo. Sell them for whatever price, with the idea for a giveaway drawing for in store items. You obviously decide what items and how often. You can put said coins in display along with giveaway items.Just an idea. Keep rocking out the videos!!
This is good for independent businesses. You want both Rick and Josh to succeed with their independent businesses. It’s beneficial to have two small businesses working together. A good relationship with one another can only bring profit to both businesses. I own a small business and there are two other similar businesses in my area and we work together. If I don’t have a product I’ll make a call to see if one of the other independent businesses may have it. I’ll bring them business their way and they always do the same for me. Rick was smart opening the door helping Josh out!
I think you should turn the extra case into an oddball nic-nac area. But hear me out on how it should be presented. Set it up like it's in a flea market display. Where it feels like a collage of misc nic-nacs. I really think people would treat it like a big eye-spy book and have that sense of wonder on spotting something in a busy yet fun piece. And if it does well it would feel like a new piece of art everytime you come in
For the empty case, why not do a monthly theme similar to what you mentioned and offer a discount for those items. Like 10 or 15% that way you can nudge people to buy things they never thought of buying. The theme could be pokemon, like mentioned in the video, mario stuff, or even when you have guest come in for in store signings, you have that for a theme. It could be games, toys, cards, merch or whatever based on the theme.
For $20, it isn't an awful haircut and if you don't end up liking it. It just gives you the opportunity to wear your favorite hat until your next one. Big shout out to Rick for helping a smaller guy get up and running. I doubt any of the owner's of stores in my area would do the same
8 abit legends more like aint shit legend am i right?😅 no seriously congratulations on the new store hope it does well it great to see someone giving it a go and trying to better themselves. Also shout out ricks promotion the "competition" not many if any other people would do that
Maybe use the case for heavies/rare games and consoles? You could create a small banner to put on the outside of the case to advertise those hard finds.
CASE IDEA! It would be more work, but every month or so rotate the case theme. One month it's pokemon(the obvious choice that every store does), another month the Rpg Case(tons of sick ps1 rpgs, saturn, nes genesis etc, guides) another month the Metroidvania case, the platformer case. Just a lot of cool things you could do. Add figures from games in rpg series or platformers and guides for the games. A racing case with the different weird racing controllers on ps1 along with the games that support them. Sky's the limit. As someone who is meh on pokemon, and sick of seeing just pokemon game cases, I vote rotate the cases and give variety and point out games that people might otherwise not try. If the display is good enough someone might buy a game just cause how cool it all looks. Just my two cents!
Make that glass case the monthly specials. Change it monthly with games you would like to put on sale or clear out overstock. But mix it up with some good titles to make it worth looking at. This will bring people to come back at least once a month. You just have to advertise and let people know about the monthly glass cabinet
Hey @Retro Rick, that empty I would swap w/the case on the end (to the right of the empty case) then...make a specific case for what u want on the end.
Case Idea: How about a large jar with SMB3 NES carts in it, "If you can guess how many of these we have overstock in this jar you get 2%% off your next purchase over $300"
Doing that deal means you've got the cash not dead stock. Glass case ideas; staff favourites, new items, weird items/strange combinations. It's in the perfect location to be changed regularly pulling people in to see what's in there.
Make a Grail case , everything in that case should be extremely rare or expensive many resale stores have them , perfect eye candy for the big fish collectors
You should do a grail case. The highest priced items you carry In there. It will be the WOW factor of the shop and when someone buys something out of it It will cause attention like oh snap they got a item from the grail case
Maybe have the case dedicated to more high value/obscure items only? For example: Your Chrono Triggers, Little Sampson, Hagani, Pokemon Box, rare handhelds, etc. That way the sections dedicated to those consoles can be stocked more efficiently with high demand titles that will move quickly, instead of having their space taken up by super expensive/rare titles that might take a while to move.
Man needs to close up shop and become a country singer with that voice
Operating out of abundance, like a true boss. This video was a prime example of why I love Rick. Dude could've so easily gatekept and looked at that dude as competition but instead he didn't even hesitate to offer his help in every way he can. Retro Rick is for the people 🙏
For da Culchetha 😎
We genuinely hope he is successful! Josh is great!
😂😂😂. Okay
@@retroricksgamepoint you’re a brother in Christ. Great man big blessing to your family this season.
Good idea!
I liked this idea 👏👏
Exactly my thought when I saw him ask!
Rick what do think of the new MeatCanyon video?
A rarities and oddities section, I like it!
Why does Rick always throws stuff? Ive been noticing. Picks up a game and throws it back into the bin etc..
i’ve noticed that too, i’ve seen a lot these retro guys do that even with consoles lol kinda bothers me…
Because they've got money, most likely.

I like that idea
For the open case about Staff picks.
That's a great idea!
Good shout
Ninja turtle display case
TMNT is always a hit!
I recommend doing monthly theme deals with the open case, get wacky with it, endless possibilities could come from it as well.
Wow i just made a similar comment and scroll down to see this! Great minds think alike! Lol
make it the consignment case where it's nothing but high dollar collectibles
We like the cases for the high dollar items too!
Best days of my life was playing with my micro machines.
Worst days of my life. In the basement, the TV/lights/NES was hooked up to the light switch at the top of the stairs. Good bad or dinner time my pops would flick that switch while playing videos games.

I recommend using the case for some clearance items. It will help you keep track of the more tougher sales and give your customers a chance to look at some cheaper games to make them feel they are getting a deal or if they are on a budget.
Why would you put clearance in a case when case space is more valuable than floor space?
There is a fun thing you can do with the case. A recommended section or and employee section. Each person gets their spot to show what they like in the store and what they are currently playing. Supplying the man! Is the name of the game, well done Rick🎉

Happy Holidays to ALL 🎅🤶☃️❄⛄
First of all, big props on helping out! And as far as the case goes... have it feature your monthly specials.
Rick with the Bloomer shirt on once again! Love it
Make the case monthly-themed, so people want to come by and see this months theme: pokemon, horror, skate, robots, etc
Bake sale case! Filled with baked goods only made out of an easy bake oven from the 90s
Pokémon for the case is a great idea but at the same time it’s going to fly off the shelf and the case would always seem empty so maybe it’s not a great idea
Items flying off the shelf is just the kind of problem we love! :)
Pokémon is a good idea for the glass display case, but I was thinking of a display case full of your game store merchandise.Furthermore, I enjoyed this video again, it is always fun and interesting to see the behind the scenes of your video games Store.
You could always make the case seasonal. Like have Horror games in October, Christmas In December and then theme it out during the rest of the year.
I like the themed case idea, maybe you could have a game series of the month and showcase games in the series.
4$ hair cut 😂
that back was janked up. sorry to say it
You could also rotate the case monthly of items so people will look forward to see what’s new in the case each month like with unusual items and all that.
An employee pick section is always a cool thing and helps make conversation.

Make the glass case a Yo-Yo case!! Definately need a classic Bumble Bee in it! LoL
I think for the glass case you should do a theme but maybe also show off a local artist that does video game art! Would be great for small businesses
Glass case - I would do a retro ricks favourites! Put in what you love from the retro scene, so people can see what you like personally. A good way to build connections and conversation
This is awesome! I live in Jonesboro and I’ll definitely be by his store.
Pokémon case is a good idea... it'll sell fast and a bunch of people will be drawn to it.
We hope so!
I would suggest using the case for weird and wonderful items highlighted from the store. Things that normally you have in the back or on the back walls. Lol! He’ll be fine! 😉

i fw that under armor hoodie looks like the og thick quality under Armor
Gotta be gentle with those toys baby...the more crispy cards and boxes the better!

You could do a clearance case if there are items you really want to move and have them marked down
Merry Christmas Retro Rick!!!
That haircut should've been free 😂😂😂
You should have a “spotlight” case where every month you change out the theme.
I think the Pokemon Idea 💡 in the Empty Case, Will Bring more Kids in your Shop, that love Everything Pokemon..!💯 Great idea..!
Editing on point as always. Patrick Bateman @2:05 was perfect!
staffs favorite pick case
Need that bulls tee 🔥🔥
😂 that haircut, atleast he’s getting some practice in!
That case must have all the expensive games of any console! All there together
Turn the empty case into an aquarium complete with real fish/sea life swimming around!
Way too go for supporting up and coming barbers!!!!
Glass case idea for ya, have an ‘Items For Sale From Other Members Of The Community’ case. You could do a “retro ricks most wanted case” whatever you like the most plus what is the most rare at that point and what you have in stock!
That haircut 😂
Thay was a good fade on one side and then it got crooked from the back and other side lol
Rick’s picks in the glass case
You need to do TMNT in that extra glass case that would be 🔥 !!!
Empty case means monthly showcase. Monthly type or monthly character.
I have an idea for the empty display case. Have your friend make you some 3D printed coins with your logo. Sell them for whatever price, with the idea for a giveaway drawing for in store items. Chocolate case, all candy bars you could ever want

Glass case idea: do a weekly or monthly bangers. Pull out the best of the best each week or month and rotate it out.
Where is this store in Jonesboro located? This is the first I've heard of a new retro game store in the area!
Way too much drama for me. I was concerned this was going to be clickbait, but you sure brought the drama
For $20, it isn't an awful haircut and if you don't end up liking it. It just gives you the opportunity to wear your favorite hat until your next one.
Big shout out to Rick for helping a smaller guy get up and running. I doubt any of the owner's of stores in my area would do the same
I wouldn't pay $5 for it.
Hay Rick, what about a staff recommendation's case you can call it Rick's Picks 😂
8 abit legends more like aint shit legend am i right?😅 no seriously congratulations on the new store hope it does well it great to see someone giving it a go and trying to better themselves. Also shout out ricks promotion the "competition" not many if any other people would do that
Glass case....make it a gecko cage and just for fun make it GEX themed!
Maybe use the case for heavies/rare games and consoles? You could create a small banner to put on the outside of the case to advertise those hard finds.

That would be interesting for sure!
Turn the glass case into a Nintendo 64 theme
Was that 25% off sticker price or price charting cause it’s a big difference

Handheld case or weird and obscure case
Good idea! Handhelds do well for us!
When you coming back up to Mammoth springs area?
Have a "Staffs Picks" display in the extra case!
All Retro Candy for the Case!!
either do all handhelds in the case or go with a themed case like you said. change it every so often maybe?
how about a 'heavy hitters' case? those rare and high value things people love to look at.
Hey @Retro Rick, that empty I would swap w/the case on the end (to the right of the empty case) then...make a specific case for what u want on the end.
That's a good idea!
That's a great idea Rick should of thought of That 😅
🤣🤣🤣@@babygravey
clearance case. just put stuff in there you want/need to move quickly.
I think Rick just helped you fire your barber :)
that fade was not good lol
Pokémon case idea is fire
You needed another bulls shirt since I bought your three peat shirt, huh? Lol
Use the glass case for retro Rick merchandise?
The glass case needs to be VHS!!!
Make a Grail case , everything in that case should be extremely rare or expensive many resale stores have them , perfect eye candy for the big fish collectors
Josh is an awesome dude!!
Fill empty case with retro Godzilla stuff!
You should do a grail case. The highest priced items you carry In there. It will be the WOW factor of the shop and when someone buys something out of it It will cause attention like oh snap they got a item from the grail case
Empty case should be Rick’s Retro Recommendations 😉
Selling him the stuff you couldn't shift lmfao. Now thats good business!
How about a new arrival case that constantly rotates?
Glass case do something different every 2 weeks like a sale case ...should be able to move different products faster 😊
Im from jonesboro. Where is going to be the store located?
