I know we lived before we came to Earth and that we continue to live after this life. I was visited by my children that would join my family knowing in an 18 years span they would be born. I and others from different walks of life had had people visit us after they died. Many are waiting to have their turn on Earth. Many are waiting for their work to be done in the temple who didn’t have the opportunity during their time on Earth to be baptized. This is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I’ve listened tho this episode twice, and then read and reread the show notes. I was engrossed with your section on the resurrection, and I can only say that to view the ways of God leaves me speechless, and quite in awe.
I love that you can tell there were a great number of witnesses of Christ in the Americas … even more by looking at the legends and subtle symbols in South America alone ❤

So true! We need to learn the difference between an emotional answer and a spiritual one:) I also think there is place for realizing and getting to know how we each learn and those learning styles and that there is also a proper and right place for answers that come through emotion as well:) Because maybe you’re not so much an analytical person but emotionally leading :) But I think there is place for balance and a fine line:) And a balance between the spirit speaking to our mind and heart(and spirit) as well:) But Heavenly Father knows each of us so once again it’s important for us to each get to intimately know how to hear him❤
I think there’s kind of three parts to developing spiritual gifts:) Asking in prayer first :) Doing the work to research and put into practice and use(the works part with the faith with prayer) And then a sort of pondering and meditation aspect :) I loveeeee intention meditation as well as affirmations and that helps soooo much ! But the first two steps are also necessary to have with it :)
I think John the Baptist being resurrected with a head refutes that a body will come forth without an arm if it was buried without an arm. Just a thought. I get an arm doesn't keep a person from not staying alive like a head, but it shows me that the body will be complete at its resurrection.
Alma 11:43: “The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form.” Notice the word “ITS”? Same body, just quickly perfected. Alma 11:44: “but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame.” How is it a restoration of its a different body?
Thank you for saying that other churches have the holy spirit. Some lds take more convincing. I have learnt from other christian faiths and they have been supprised to but sceptical to learn from me.
Its not so much as having the Spirit of Prophecy but BEING _SUBJECT_ to AUTHORITY , altho that IS the meaning - as far as Our Father's House being a HOUSE OF ORDER ( 👍 ) is concerned , but for each of _US_ its the PROPER _USE_ of _OUR_ Gift of Prophecy WITHIN _OUR_ STEWARDSHIPS _EXACTLY_ *AS* does The Prophet for THE _ENTIRE_ *WORLD* .
I don’t know if this is right but I had once heard our bodies would be when resurrected like in our prime :) but I don’t know if that was us “at our best” on earth or prime age.but I personally feel it’ll be once we’re fully grown:) not younger not older. Not in the process of growing or in the process of “moving towards the next life”❤ we’ll see ❤
Is it possible the first resurrection has already begun? Since Christ started that and also the prophets and such before Christ where ? I think it’s interesting in the Book of Mormon how it was said he doesn’t know the time but that there needs to be at least a space of time. Could that be just enough time to be buried and check on family ? The whole idea the world is fascinated with of “unfinished business” and those moments before “going towards the light” in some way? That it’s just come from the idea that it’s possible for us to get ours quickly? Since with God nothing is impossible and we don’t know all and so much is still unknown to us and incomprehensible? Id like to think so:) it’ll be wonderful to learn someday :)
I do not agree with you, and don’t think there is really any backing for your view that we will be raised with the same body. I fully undoubtably believe that we will be raised whole and complete. Bc of what you believe that body parts won’t be whole , then that would mean mental illnesses would still be present, vital organs would still be missing, ect… when resurrected you won’t have blood, so the body cannot be the same as before. And for me, I believe that our resurrected being look like who we were in the preexsistence for billions of years, not the form we took on for 75 Earthly years.
You need to listen to the podcast again. We addressed all those things. I think you misunderstood. The church is very clear: we do not believe in reincarnation. If I receive anybody in the resurrection, other than my own, that is reincarnation. D&C 88:28. But that doesn’t mean it won’t immediately be perfected. Notice Alma 11:43: “The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in ITS perfect form.” I won’t receive some other body. I receive my same body in its perfect form. Alma 11:44: “but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame.” Same body!

Since having both my knees replaced I've often wondered what that twinkling will feel like.
