Jinkx Monsoon is #Legendary . They are a top-notch , well rounded , Multi-Talented Performer ... who happens to use Drag as a Vehicle for their Immense Talent Portfolio. ;-) I would Definitely recommend looking Them up. Jinkx is now Starring in "Little Shop of Horrors" off Broadway and people Loved Them playing a Lead in "Chicago" on Broadway. No worries at All about maybe not being familiar with them. There are sooo many people in Entertainment it's impossible to know them all. But this one is the Legit , Real Deal . p.s. further in the video I had to rewind with a Smile on My face. Massive Props for pronouncing Esthetic Correctly... Most butcher it by saying 'EsTETic' ... Gurrrl, NO. Just like it makes Me cringe to hear some Anesthesiologist's Not able to say their own title correctly. There is NO such thing as "AnesTEASEia' LOL. - That prompted Me to Subscribe now , Speak on with your correctness. 🙂
This episode started off strong for me, but towards the end it really fell apart, especially with the musical number at the end. In my view, if the musical element was just a song from either The Beatles or Cilla Black, that would have been better, in my opinion, but I just didn't like it for that. However, I didn't think that it was a strong episode, but I am hoping that the rest of the series gets better from there.
I feel like the musical number was extremely significant and not for what it was on the surface. I think that this ties into the pantheon. It was a clue.
Maestro completely ruined this episode for me. One of the worst villains/performances I’ve seen in years. Felt like a pantomime performance in the worst way possible. Maestro alone made this a bad episode in my opinion. With a good villain, this episode would be middling at best. But all in all this episode is like a 1 or 2/10. Really didn’t like it. For me it’s on the level of orphan 55 or the tsuranga conundrum. Why was the Doctor so scared of Maestro? Felt unearned. Also why is the Doctor traumatised by the bigeneration? They didn’t portray that at all in the giggle. If anything it was a triumphant moment in that episode. Ncuti STILL hasn’t had a defining I am the doctor moment. Hated the musical too, haven’t got anything against musicals but the song was awful. Really not liking RTD2, was hopeful but it’s incredibly disappointing. To me it just doesn’t feel like Doctor Who.
Based my experience, I am a Jinkx fan, but they are not a tremendous actor. I felt the episode avoided giving them too many lines, and that is why the musical scenes seemed so long. There was a lot of dialogue free filler.
I loved the episode and all the performances
Love a bit of camp panto - should rename the show Doctor WooWho
