This is one of the best course on Excel. You are teaching what is needed the most based on your experience which is in my opinion the best thing about the course. I usually don't complete such long videos in one sitting but was able to do it for this course. Thanks for such an amazing content. Looking forward for new courses, till then will complete your previous courses.
Thank you so much Mohit! Yes that's exactly the purpose of these videos, they're not supposed to be comprehensive but a guide on what you need to get started
Yes, we can use Excel in the opposite direction in the Arabic language in the Middle East, but we usually use it in the English language in the natural direction, even in the smallest companies in the Middle East
The differences between currency(CF) and accounting format(AF) are: the place where the currency symbol appears[CF-next to the first digit in the cell.] the way negative number appears[AF-Negative numbers appear in parentheses]
I was *just* going through your content today, specifically the data analytics roadmap and was surprised to see this upload! you're gonna have to update the roadmap seeing as you do have a resource for excel now :) can't wait to dive into this and all your other videos, keep it up they've been very insightful!
Thanks so much for this free information, I was self teaching web development but realized my love is data/information. Starting on python and SQL currently
Been an Analyst fpr the part 5 years and Excel was my main focus and till today still is Excel. Work a lot with automation and developing VBA Appplications linked to Access file databases on a local server with few offline versions saw advancements on Salary 2 times from 9K to 11K and then 13K, you don't make much money in ... Portugal. Today I see that my tasks are slowing changing into the Power BI platform as it get implemented on companies from automation to lowcode with Power Apps and Power Automate. Something I see is that the companies I tend to apply evolve very slowly in tech and take years to progress, unless you are on a start up with bunch of money its seen like luxury having a pro/service account in Power Platform or just Power BI)
Thank you so much. Prior to this I was self-taught in Excel. Now, I better understand how things worked. I'm a science major trying to shift more towards data science and this definitely helped me kickstart towards this path. I'll be checking your other vids in the future. I like how you made things concise.
Approximate match for VLOOKUP can be very effective when converting numbers into two groups or some categories. An example of this would be if your lookup value was a numerical grade, you could create an associated lookup table that assigns the appropriate letter grade. The caveat with this is that the values must be in numerically-ascending order on the lookup table.
Thanks a lot sir, you deserve an award for creating this one, really helpful, I've learned a lot. the currency format shows zero "0" while accounting shows dash "-" when the value of the cell is zero
Thanks for this vid man. I learned so much more from watching this video than from what i learned from the whole 2nd module of my data analytics course. Keep up the great work!!!
Hey, Shashank, thanks a lot for the video! I do believe, it's a good idea to add this tutorial to "Data Analyst Tutorials" playlist -- would be easier for new viewers to find it.
Thanks a lot I like how you explain what’s actually needed. A lot of vids I watch they take months to learn everything that doesn’t seem necessary in the real world or every job. I had to slow down speed you talk fast, but other UA-camrs I have to speed up because its either boring or they talk way too much 😆. I’m trying to get out of medical like some of my friends did!!!
This has been really great. Thanks for your efforts. it's particularly watchable because it's concise and you've covered some things that will be really useful for me in my next role.
Awesome content as always, Shashank. Goal Seek is a new feature I've discovered thanks to this video and I'm curious as to how I can apply it to my work.
Great video! Found quite a few tips I could use to simplify my logbook file. Did everything with if / else which was a royal pain. Very much appreciated!
Great Video Shashank! I couldn't stop watching till the end of the video😃😃..... Another great stuff you could have added is "Flash Fill" it is like performing magic in excel.. Why i always advocate for people to start with Excel is that it is easier to learn and people can easily see what is happening ...unlike a programming language... When they are moving to SQL or Python or R... They can learn it from an excel perspective... At least they can remember in Excel they have seen what it was doing and then can easily relate it in in SQL/Python/R....
Francis great to see you in the comment section! Thank you so much for your help during the livestreams! Yes! Flash Fill is amazing!. I like the methodology you outlined as well
When you removed duplicates in column 1 and 2 at 1:00:34, only row 21 was removed, but in row 12 there is another duplicate? How does this function work? Does it look at duplicates in column 1 compared to column 2, or does it just evaluate the whole range? Thanks for this video, its really helpful!!
49:24 Just a thought I had on this specific piece using the TRIM function. Is there any perceivable downside to selecting the *entire* datasheet and using TRIM? Or will there perhaps be complications for doing such on a large data set
I'm from Pakistan, one of the places where we write from right to left. We just use the English numbers when doing stuff like this. I have lived a good number of years in Saudia as well, and although I do not have professional experience there, I do believe it is in English there as well.
I saw this comment on your recent Livestream, and realized that I might have said this confusingly and you misinterpreted it. Here in Pakistan, and most probably Saudia too, we just use Excel like you guys do, with normal English numbers going left to right. And yes, Urdu is written right to left.
Well, it depends a lot on a specific company. For instance, where I worked as a data analyst, I did not need excel nearly at all. The only purpose I used it for - was sharing resulting data in the form of excel tables. Talking about replacement of excel by SQL -- I do believe that solely SQL cannot replace it, since you cannot visualize data in SQL, you can perform analysis mostly only in the form of strict tabular data (unlike in excel). However, you can quite easily replace excel with SQL + Python (or some other programming language). But once again, depends heavily on a specific company "data culture".
from Bahrain, next to Saudi Arabia. And No, Excel isn't mirrored here lol. its the default way, plus everyone that uses excel here is usually fluent in multiple languages and can enter all the data in English.
That’s because most people install the default English Office Suite. But if you install the Arabic version (which I have seen few people do), then everything, including excel sheets, will be from right to left. Edit: Oh, and you don’t actually need to install the Arabic version; under Page Layout tab, there’s a “Sheet Right-to-Left” option. Plus, you can change the default to rtl in settings.

Starting learning Excel and some VBA gives a very good understanding of what is going on, when you try to learn and use Python for data analysis.
Yes, we can use Excel in the opposite direction in the Arabic language in the Middle East, but we usually use it in the English language in the natural direction, even in the smallest companies in the Middle East

I am looking some project or exercise to improve my excel skill. Where can I find them?
If I don’t have “data” in the menu and option to download cvs file 😢?..
Can SQL replace excel in data analysis? Like can one be a data analyst without knowledge of excel
Well, it depends a lot on a specific company. For instance, where I worked as a data analyst, I did not need excel nearly at all.

Hi Shashank, how do I get into your All About The Data discord server?
Really insightful and educational but could you please slow down a bit to make following easier
whats the difference between a data analyst and a data scientist?
Your expressions after each successful chapter was like meme kid "hell yeah"
