He wasn't suffering any vocal problems, He started the song off on a lower register, but then he sang better towards the end. Aside from smoking he sounds the same as any other time.
Bono was a dude back then. Suddenly he's old and all the young kids slag him off. They'll learn when they reach 25 and they've experienced a bit of life
@Carlibengarli His voice has changed so much though. He reached his peak on the Joshua Tree Tour in 1987, his range peaked with the Lovetown Tour in 1989 but bad technique with all the shouting damaged his voice and began to change it for the worst (evidence of this, just watch through Popmart clips). He kept most of his ability throughout the Zoo TV Tour. But in the late 90s, he suffered vocal problems that didn't get fixed until 2006 (fifth leg of the Vertigo Tour).
@rocksuena Sorry to break your balls kid but Bono's "vocal declination" is a myth. Have you ever even tried actually listening to some of the many top quality 360 bootlegs? :S
The Edge's magical touch at the end makes this version of the song untouchable !!
A timeless classic
I was there :) My first U2 concert!
Ben van Riemsdijk did you see them in summer 1993 Zooropa also?
Can't describe how this era/tour makes me feel. Unbelievable!
U2 91-94 untouchable ❤

However, after 1993.. And he never really recovered

Actually, it was bono inhaling poison, by smoking, that made his voice not be as beautiful and amazing as it used to be
You know what, I like how Bono's voice sounded in the later era, from 1997 to 2015.
