    Thank you for the information. I really believe I am being called to this. Like you said in another video, there is not much out there on this.

    Thank you Deacon. Still discerning. Everything you said sounds like it would be a true blessing and to join with the mission of Jesus and in His Church to bring Salvation of our LORD to the WORLD! Yes!

    Do all deacons were the priest collar?

  • @GiftofChaosStudio

    How come some deacons wear the collar and the ones near me don't? Edit: also, does becoming a deacon replace your day job?

      Hi! I know it's been 5 months since your question and you would prefer an answer directly from Father Deacon here, but I would like to take the time to answer them for you.
      Deacons have the permission to wear the cassock/clerical shirt with the Roman collar at their discretion, since Deacons are expected to hold actual, secular work when not engaged in work and service for the Church.
      So, many Deacons will simply wear normal clothing every day and wear liturgical garb for Mass, but many traditional Deacons choose to wear the cassock/clerical shirt every day and in their jobs (if their place of work permits it).

      If God wills that I will become a Deacon I will wear it everywhere to proclaim Christ to anyone who needs it.

      @@PatrickSteil well, I've since entered formation for the Diaconate. I can tell you, you'll wear clerics as your Bishop instructs. Good luck if you do go forward with it. Prayers!

    I am very much interested in the permanent diaconate. I am in Nigeria however, and the permanent diaconate is not recognized. What should I do?

      @@PatrickSteil Thanks for checking up. I have not gotten a positive reply yet. I have asked a couple of vocations directors here and they all say that it is not possible in Nigeria due to the fact that the church in Nigeria is not mature enough to take care of a deacon and his family (as many will be married). One in particular said it won't be logistically feasible to transfer (married) deacons to areas where their services are needed as that would imply moving a whole family. They gave more reasons along these lines.
      However, I told them that I am still single and plan on remaining single. To that they replied I should discern instead for priesthood.

    • @PatrickSteil
      @PatrickSteil Рік тому +1

      @@ofoamaluuchenna114 Well, perhaps you should discern that! The Church, society - the World needs more dedicated priests! May God Bless you on your journey to submit your will to His and serve His Church in whatever way he lays out to you.

    If Deacons don't get paid how do they have time to work another job?

    • @alisterrebelo9013
      @alisterrebelo9013 Рік тому

      My understanding (and it depends on each diocese), is that the commitment is determined in consultation with the Bishop/Parish priest. My diocese advises that the typical time commitment is 6-8 hours per week. The parish that you are assigned to may also cover some expenses (like travel costs for driving around) if they have the budget for it. The thoughts of remuneration for the work should be part of the discernment process and ideally it should not factor when making the decision. This is a service to be offered for the love of God and his Church not for money.

    *TRUE AND POWERFUL CONVERSION STORY PLUS GREAT MIRACLES!
    March, 2022
    Thank GOD for our LADY of GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012, and I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her.
    †Also, when I prayed few Rosaries to help me to quit smoking cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time, (prv 3: 5)
    †Truely, when I was inspired to recite one single Rosary in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer; but GOD still saved me! Also During my first Rosary procession outdoors in May 13, 2001, I saw Queen of the Holy Rosary walking with us for 4-5 seconds; And she had long, dark, blue dress & absolutely attractive one.
    †Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Masses weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm, and I NEVER miss it.
    †UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to the daily readings is like my "daily bread" And I read the Bible from cover to cover 3 times since my conversion! & I read the CCC as well, (Is. 55: 10 -11). Also, I like to what some one says: every winter turns into spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God" (Ps.14:1)
    †Unfortunately, many "Catholics don't know what they have, and Evangelicals don't know what they are missing!"
    †And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for a few years searching for TRUTH while residing in Stockholm & they opened my eyes a LITTLE bid to the facts of faith at the time.
    † God is still in the miracle buisness. And thank God for the ROSARY prayer, etc.(Ps. 107:13- 14
    †"This is the day which GOD hath made a day for us to REJOICE & be GLAD" - Ps.118: 2
    †By Saba Korial, MIC, & I was born in Middle East, now Canadian & Christian CATHOLIC & part of 1.360 Million world wide Catholics. (2 Tm 2:4 & 4:7). Note that the Name of God is mentioned 3 times while praying the ROSARY as follow: first the LORD, then Jesus & GOD (prv. 3: 5). Copy & google the following:
