I also have a few issues with Carvana as recent as of yesterday (12/5/2024) The truck I was interested in was out of state so I had it shipped to a relatively local Carvana center. I was there to look it over in person the day after it arrived. Carvana rep did notify me the night before that the vehicle had a small bit of damage (a missing bit of plastic to the bumper and a small section of paint scratches with a small chip away on the hood) and wanted to see if I still wanted to come check it out in the morning. I was going to replace the factory bumpers anyways so I said I’d be there. On arrival, I got there an early right at opening hours. Was frustrated that they wouldn’t open the doors or allow me to check out the vehicle until the sales rep arrived at my scheduled appointment time. Basically only cleaning staff arrive at opening hour and they won’t open until the first scheduled appointment. After the rep arrived, I was able to do all the in person checks I desired (and I really tested them by crawling all under the truck, shining a flashlight into every bit of the undercarriage and suspension) but after opening the hood and starting the truck, I was rather shocked to discover they don’t allow test drives during in-person potential-buyer appointments. Obviously there is the 7-day no questions buyback policy but anyone interested in a vehicle should be allowed to test drive the damn thing before buying. Anyways, I noted a pretty serious oil leak and realized someone had installed the oil pan without a gasket. Not the end all be all of items but the lack of negotiation on price was a sticking point from that moment. By the time I finished the undercarriage inspection, I knew the shocks, upper and lower control arms, front rotors, the catalytic converter, and a couple other parts would need to be replaced pronto due to some very obvious rust issues which someone tried to paint over. At the end of the visit, I still bought the truck. Someone here is bound to be flabbergasted at my stupidity. But, Carvana has a fantastic (although very tedious to start) limited warranty that comes with every purchase that covers (at no cost to the buyer) anything not considered wear and tear items which is diagnosed to be mechanically unsound or potentially hazardous to the operation of the vehicle within the first 30 days or 1500 miles of ownership. Additional investment in their Drivercare extended warranty program takes this even further with complete coverage of all mechanical, electrical, and even general maintenance items which made need replacement or repair within set time or mileage limits. So, I bought that truck, immediately took it to a Ford service center for inspection, got my list of parts and assemblies needing replacement as well as a notice of fluids needing flushed (transmission, coolant, and brakes), and then turned around to take that to a full service collision and repair center. By the time I woke up in the morning, the claim had been started, the shop had re-verified the findings of the dealership service center, and the replacement parts had all been ordered. On Monday, I’m going to call in to argue my case for the paint repair on the small section of scratched and chipped paint of the hood from the transportation damage. I’m pretty confident that will be fixed under the warranty coverage too. By the time my 30 day limited warranty is up, I’ll have successfully replaced most of the suspension parts from to back at no cost to me except the cost of not being able to drive a (new to me) vehicle back to my home right after purchasing it. Oh, and the tires were atrocious on purchase of course so after getting the vehicle back from the collisions repair center, I’ll be taking it straightaway to a tire shop for new ones. Which I had planned anyways because I never keep factory or used tried on my vehicles ahead of winter.
I'm still living a Carvana nightmare. Traded in my beautiful, meticulously maintained Jeep Wrangler for what turned out to be a RUSTY LEMON. 2 mechanics checked it out post purchase, took photos of all the rust hidden underneath from bumper to bumper. All the negative reviews are true, and still untangling myself from these shady dealers. My Carmax experience years ago was flawless, and they sold me a sweet ride that lasted for years, so this isn't my first rodeo with this type of used car dealer. Carvana had their license suspended in Illinois for shady dealings, now I see why.
@@LeftSeatAdventures Thank you! I'm trapped in the Carvana Carnival. I can get a refund, which is good, but tricky as then I will be without a car. The idea of a trade in for me, since I don't have a back up car to drive in the meantime, was to trade in 1 great car for another. Oh well. Lesson learned! I ended up going with a Subaru, and hope this Carvana trade isn't as bad as the other. 🙂
@@Auser12349 The kicker? Carvana of course wouldn't simply return my Jeep after trading it in for the RUSTY LEMON they sneakily tried to sell me. So I chose another Carvana car, as I was a bit stuck and thought surely this couldn't happen again. WRONG! This time, all the wiser, I immediately drove the next Carvana car to the mechanic down the street who was ready for me to breeze in, put it on a lift and examine the underbelly. The rust on this car - a 2015 Subaru Forester from CT - had MORE RUST then the first Carvana car bumper to bumper. When I tried to get out of the parking lot, the car was lurching and couldn't get into drive. The mechanic said that was the corrosion and rust was causing a leak to the transmission! I have photos. It's hard to give Carvana a bad review. You have to go to the individual websites of every pick up locations to read the reviews, so I did post the rusty images on Carvana's Hendersonville location website. Carvana gave me a refund after an agonizing process. I bought a beautiful used Jeep Cherokee from an AWESOME local dealer. 🙂
@@MM-rj8mk if I were you, I would file with the attorney general in Arizona. I just made a complaint against them . Who knows what else it needed. They repossessed it after my inability to pay and keep up with the payments and trying to find work to make up for what I lost in Oakland. I moved back to Colorado and they tracked. After I registered, I’m sure to get the car back and they sold it immediately after they sold it for 1023 dollars to dealership in Longmont Colorado dealership is trying to sell it for 14 grand
I just purchased a truck from them and received the truck with multiple issues. So to me the 150 point inspection that they list, is nonsense. They dont inspect. My truck had such a loud exhaust leak that anybody that started it would instantly label it a problem. With all that said i brought it to dealer within seven days, and also had my return date pushed out until 14 days. The dealer found multiple issues and reached out to silverrock, which is thier warranty company. They approved all the work, about 4k worth of work. So if you're willing to jump some hoops when you first get the vehicle you can definitely have the work fixed on the warranty but can be a pain in the butt.
Hello, I sold mine to them. I am looking for a newer one now, I would and might buy from them only because I get easily overwhelmed so walking in and dealing with people is a no-go for me. I am also checking into caredge because they can do all the car buying I would only have to e sign. :)
My experience was more on the delivery part than the car itself..i just got it today 11-8-24 basically end of the thanksgiving weekend i purchased a car ..smooth transactions and everything soo it got delayed 3 times this past week and originally gonna get the car this Wednesday basically bc the registration hold up WHICH they werent being detailed on until the Financial Manager called me and apologized and told me why the car kept being delayed..which was due to inspection..lowkey i might’ve avoided something with it regardless but anyways i gotten a new car and shipped within a day
They sell GAP insurance but don’t stand by it. Six months having my car totaled and my insurance paying.GAP insurance is not paying . No car and still being charged for the balance. Sucks.
I will not recommend Carvana!! We boughy a Toyota Sienna for our family. After 2 months with new tires, the tires are bald so we took it in to Midas and was told we need to replace the lower control arm with a cost of whooping $1700! We will never buy from Carvana ever again!
Thank you for this video - I was thinking of using Carvana but I’m not inclined to at this point!
Absolutely! 👍 I’m glad it helped.
Same!
