La Rumorosa also refers to the famous road that crosses the Sierra de Juárez Mountains in Baja California, which is part of Mexican Federal Highway 2D. This was completed in 1917 under the governorship of Esteban Cantu. Before this road was constructed, land travel between Tijuana and the rest of Mexico required travel through the United States.
Initially, this road was a two-way street only somewhat dangerous due to the wind in the region and the steep grade of the road, as well as the recklessness of some drivers to try to finish this stretch of highway faster, causing numerous accidents. Currently there are two two-lane roads each, one upstream and the other downstream, with improved marking and consequently, a significant reduction of accidents.
However, even with security measures, the road is still considered one of the most dangerous for inexperienced drivers, so it is always advisable to observe a minimum safe distance, to not exceed the speed limit, and use engine braking whenever possible. Headlights are advised in adverse conditions.

I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you :)
You are so welcome!
This is only dangerous if you don’t respect the indications
I absolutely agree with you 👍
Que bello es mi Pais 🇲🇽🇲🇽
Si verdad 👍
Videos like this make me proud to be of Mexican heritage. Such a beautiful country
Unfortunately corrupted by violence but that doesn't take away the beauty... When i die, i want to be buried in Mx. ❤️
Awesome! I'm proud of Mexican beauty and nature too 👍
. . .espero que su último deseo se vuelva realidad....bendiciones
@@mariobobadilla9965 muchisimas gracias amigo 👍
If you do love it, violence would be the least of your concerns, I've never had to worry bout violence in my life here apart from the Culiacanazo but that's another deal
You did not make the land, nothing to be proud of.
we use to go visit my uncle in tecate el hongo back in the 70’s and sometimes go to mexicali to visit some other family and we had to take this highway, i was always scared and use to give me chills specially if we drove at night. i havent gone through there since.. this brings back fond memories driving with my grandparents and uncles that are no longer here, i use to look up at the sky at night while we drove , it was so beautiful full of millions of stars.. great memories thank you for the share
Glad you liked it 👍
Gracias amigo 👍
These landscapes are so incredibly beautiful I thought I clicked on a gameplay video for a while. I need to see this personally. At least once in my life.
You should definitely visit La Rumorosa to see it and enjoy it! 👍
I Drove From San Diego to Phoenix last Tuesday on the Interstate 8 , while going down those giant mountains it looks like the La Rumorosa 🏖
These are the same mountains 🏔 but on the other side of the birder. It’s more scenic on the mexican side.
@@4KTravelChannelI agree.
It used to be dangerous when it was 1 lane each way with no guard rails. The dual lane shown Here used to be 1 lane coming 1 lane going.
It's still dangerous during winter months as the highway freezes sometimes.
Yeah it used to be dangerous it looks safe now
@@dopec8339 Still a lot of people tell scary stories about it
Thanks to this video I could convince my sister and my brother in law to drive through la Rumorosa! They were really afraid 😟! So I told them that is not a two way road like before!! Thank s for the video!! I love your videos! Greetings from Chicago!!
Glad you liked it! La Rumorosa is not that dangerous, just don't try it in winter months
This is not dangerous.. this is dangerous beauty ❤👌
I agree 👍
This is making me fall asleep. It's relaxing 😌
Me too.
Beautiful place
It's so darn beautiful! I used to go there. Drive Safely!
Thank you, I will! 👍
child hood memory seeing those beautiful long roads.. haven't been in like 9 years. Gma recently passed away, curious to talk to gpa how life is going. not sure why i neglected my childhood memories there.
love you nana
So glad you liked it 👍
Literally I have a lot of regret for not enjoying my time there when I was a kid ... my grandmother raised me and we would take trips to All over Mexico with my grandfather now that I look back there was so much value of life in those times just wish I could relive them.
Gracias por el video . . ..muy bonita carretera.....y segura . .
Si verdad, es muy bonita esa highway de Baja California 👍
This is so beautiful the sound everything is wonderful❤️❤️
Love from the Philippines ❤️🫰
Thank you, glad you liked it! 👍
The only reason I even look this road up on UA-cam is the story of my Granddad who died when my dad was two so that would be 1957-58. The story is he was riding a motorcycle and collided with a bus or semi on this road . Why do I feel my destiny calls for me riding this road on a Harley now that they are both gone ?
Yes, this is one of the most dangerous highways in Mexico
@@4KTravelChannel it’s really NOT. look up el espinazo del diablo ( the devil’s backbone ). It connects DURANGO-MAZATLÁN
Ride this route on a bike.. you will feel what they were feeling. But be careful because it is dangerous. i remember seeing so many cars down the mountain.
Look NICE AND WELL BUILT ROAD...AND MODERN!!
Sure is!
If you only knew itts past history
I live in Tijuana I feel so lucky to have that beautiful scenic road to drive when I go to Mexicali..truly beautiful scenery I recommend that everyone experience that drive.
I totally agree! 👍
Of course it reminds me of the drive on u.s. interstate 8 in san diego and imperial county because its the same area, just on different side of the border
I agree, but La Rumorosa highway is more scenic and dangerous to drive, especially during winter ❄️ months 😉
interstate 8 by the border looks a lot like this. Driving from Arizona to San Diego. Arizona has a lot of interstates like this specially up north towards flagstaff and Sedona
I agree, there's a big stretch of mountains in Arizona
Keep up the good work
Thank you! 👍😉
El vídeo funciona hasta para dormir, y más por la canción. Saludos desde la ciudad de México.

Nice quality video! What camera did you use?

*Dangerous ¿?*
*India: hold my beer!*

HAY UN PERRO ENTRE LAS ROCAS EN EL MINUTO 2:46 :)

What’s the speed limit?
Idk you can google it
@@4KTravelChannel tried… nothing came up… watched some of the vid and says 40km aka 25mph the whole way?! Boringggggggg
@@DHolmquistDesigns must be 66mph
Highway 41 and Pacheco Pass in California definitely look more dangerous than this
The problem is that La Rumorosa freezes during January and February and that causes a lot of accidents
This used to be a 1 way road in an out with out guard rails now its a bigger road with guard rails so its not that scary anymore but a few years back o god
That’s what I think. There’s worse roads in California.
why is this the most dangerous?
It’s not anymore it’s been modernized it used to be dangerous before.
Because it freezes during winter months and that causes lots of accidents
@@4KTravelChannel haha I made that comment before my first visit. I visited last year and absolutely loved it!
Due to the roller coaster type turns and wind. Trucks have to take extra, EXTRA precautions
@@4KTravelChannel because it freezez he says bro u havent seen how it looked before it looks safe now
