I don't like how ppl think Cinderella just waited for a man to save her. The Prince didn't save her, the mice technically rescued her, but she was the one smart enough to keep the glass slipper, she never complained how crap her life was, she was so positive and kind to everyone, so Cinderella isn't as reliant on men as ppl think she is
Indeed, this video is based on people's misconceptions of the Disney princesses. Cinderella did NOT just wait for a man to save her. She wasn't even looking for a relationship at that point in her life, she only wanted one night off from all her work. But we also have Jasmine being stupid enough to try becoming a thief, Belle wanting a man she can "fix", Pocahontas refusing to eat what she hasn't picked herself in the forrest, and Aurora falling asleep all over the place. There might be some truth to some of these misconceptions, but it seems like the people who actually believe in this never watched the movies properly.
***** If that is the case, those people should really watch the movies again to see how wrong they were. And I am still not sure if the people behind this video actually believe in these misconceptions, or if they're just making fun of them.
EpicSk8ter:P But she DID stand up for herself and demanded her right to go to the ball! And when you consider her situation, it was really brave of her.
Looking at the screen I realized it was John Travolta introducing Idina Menzel to sing let it go in 2014 Oscars. That when she got the name Adele Dazeem😂😂
Cinderella wasn't waiting for a man to save her. She just wanted to go to a ball, what happened to Cinderella was the equivalent of winning free tickets to a big Bruno Mars concert with an open bar and free food and Bruno falling in love with you. And how exactly is a woman in 16th century Europe supposed to strike out on her own? She was literally a slave to her family until marriage.
that's right, people are very unfair with Cinderella. They have to bear in mind the TIME where it was made. She actually did the best with what she had at that time, and opened the doors for the future princesses..
Thank YOU! People fail to forget that about Cinderella. ANd frankly if you think about it...the Prince was more of a dame in distress than her because he was actually LOOKING FOR A WOMAN to marry because of his father, haha!
JTeamjesters yeah that's true, although he was of the royalty, he was the prince and future king, it was his duty to find a wife. His duty for his kingdom
This depiction of Cinderella was so unfair, it was basically blaming a victim of abuse for not being able to escape their terrible family and ignores Cinderella's strength, staying nice, optimistic and a free-spirit despite all the psychological trauma.
Hope_Mor just because Tiana didn't fight doesn't mean she wasn't bad ass. She was making her own money. I like the Princesses who could take care of themselves
Lol... this is why Mulan is and was always my favorite princess. She put her life on the line to save her father. Her goal was not to be dependent on a man or find a man, but to save them. There was almost no prince/princess love the *entire* movie... because he though she was a man.... But the plot was so sweet. In my opinion, those are the best stories because they have people you can look up to and say you want to be like them without coming across as selfish or bratty in any way.
Disney Princesses being helpless? Tiana started her own independent business and worked for it, Belle rescued her father and preferred reading to being courted by men, Merida chose to fight for her own hand in marriage rather than be auctioned off, Mulan saved her entire country nearly singlehandedly, Elsa fought for herself and her sister, Pocahontas saved John Smith from death and saved her people from slaughter, Rapunzel saves Flynn multiple times and her journey is a quest for freedom, not for a man. And yeah, I'm not denying Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White were the opposite of independent but their movies were made in the mid twentieth century so...
I hate how everyone is commenting all butt-hurt saying every princess needs a guys to save them blah blah. Mulan, Merida (from Brave), and Anna didn't need a man to save them, they either saved themselves or had another woman save them. AND not all princess are brats, sure at first most of them are, but most of them change by the end. For example: Rapunzel, Arora, and Belle where no brats at all during their respective films. And for the Record, Elsa was not the first Disney Princess who didn't rely on a man, because: 1.She's a Queen, not a princess 2.Mulan was actually first at having no man save her, and in my opinion her movie was better than Elsa's.
Jillian the great+ And the real Princess Pocahontas was like 13 or 14 or maybe just 15yrs old, there are pictures of the real Pocahontas n she didn't look anything like the Disney cartoon or this Americas next top model Pocahontas on this video at all! Disney overly sexualized how the Real Pocahontas looked n I find that DISGUSTING! Pocahontas was a real person who was very young n didn't look like that! WHY does everyone oversexualize everything especially a real person, who was a young girl?!? Even Disney cartoons do this sht it's sad n ridiculous!!!!
Bridget M because,Disney thought that it was a nice story to turn into a movie for KIDS and they didn't want kids to know about pedophilia. That is why they made her look older.
Cinderella did NOT wait on a man to save her. When she went to the ball she wasn't there for the prince she was there to be out her house. She can stand up for herself when she is able to. Just imagine being emotionally and verbally abused for most of your life
Disney said that Elsa was the first princess that showed girls they don't need a man to save them , but what about Merida ,or Mulan who SAVED CHINA!!!!!!

"Do you know how many toxins are in that over-processed white people crap?" This reminds me of another quote from avatar "This much negative Energy is bad for the skin, you'll totally brake-out"
I think they're completely missing the point that Ariel was a young anthropologist that dreamed of studying another culture her entire life and just used a romantic interest as a means to push herself into following her heart to her one true calling.
You guys do realize that Disney did not create many of there princesses, but pulled them from history or old fairy tales, right? (You probably do) That means that the women portrayed will have characteristics of women before modern feminism. So please, stop demonizing Disney.
Omg I looked at some of the comments and I see people saying "there was a African American princess" duh of course and her name is tiana and I think the actor did a nice job. LIKE SHE WAS THE ONLY BLACK PRINCESS IN DISNEY HISTORY!
Tiana might've been the only black princess but she also had herself more put together than any other princess before the events of the movie 'changed' her and she found her 'man/frog' - she also was the one who changed the guy into something better than before. Last time that happened was Beauty and the Beast.
Screw the princess, this misses the point of stories in general. And this. Is how discourse. Was like back then. And hell it still is! God we just keep getting worse and worse :(
saying tangled portrayed rapunzel’s worth as just her hair is insane when literally that’s only what the *villains* thought. rapunzel’s kindness and willingness to dream motivated several people to help/befriend her and even when she lost her hair Flynn still married her and she still became a princess. like wtf 😭
Like when chef Louis put les poissons, ah mais oui, ca c'east toujours délice he is saying fish, ah yes, that 'always delight east ( whatever that means)

flayuhat God damn you're a moron. Kid, just stop. You can't differentiate your head from your ass obviously. I'm ignoring you now. Cry more. Flame on. Enjoy.
Pocahontas doesn't do things solely for love but for her people, mulan does it for his parent, rapunzel doesn't change for him, she just happens to have a male companion. Belle also sacrifices for her father. Not to mention merida from brave and elsa. Cinderella and snow white are the oldest princesses so yeah, they to follow the imperative and mentality of their decades.

Ikr, they are empowered women, that know who they are, who stood up even though the times in which they lived were hard and a 100000 times different from ours
Is that Alice (as in Wonderland) trying to teach Wreck-It Ralph how to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete? She is too cute! And "lol" at Belle, trying to steal Fix-It Felix Junior's line. :D
I hateeeee it when people take something from childhood specifically for girls and some how translate it into "sexism". Cinderella never wanted a man to save her she wanted a good night out of the slave she was. Jasmine just followed Aladdin because it was love at first site for her and on top of that she just a side character who seems to have a lot of attention because the movie she's from is entitled "alladin" not jasime. Belle was an example of tolerance for others. In fact none of these princess actually asked for a prince to save them at all it just happened to be that handsome men fell in love with them. I personally think the romance aids a huge amount of the dream like aspects of these princess. I never realized that people make sarcastic and sexsist remarks to Disney princess as much as they do to barbie.....
We're still living in the 2010s it doesn't matter that there's now a 21 on the year, culturally we're still the 10s for another year and a half... Assuming there's still any culture left, considering content like this more or less exists to kill it

The real Pocahontas was probably killed by Europeans so she might've been racist.
Idalis Delacruz how does she being killed have to do with being racist? the Europeans killed the native americans even if they didn't do anything bad
Cillendor Edenion The real Pocahontas was married by about the age of 13 before being abandoned in Spain where she became a whore.

You do realize in order to unfreeze Anna's heart, she needed an act of true love to warm the heart.

Mulan saved China, Pocahontas saved John, Merida saved something, Jasmine didn't need Aladdin to save her, etc, etc.
But we always have to turn EVERYTHING into something sexist.
The act of true love wasn't even from Kristoff or Hans though. It was from Elsa, showing her that she actually cares for her.

That was probably one of the most longest buzzfeed video.
That black women is beautiful
You meant either " THOSE black women are beautiful" or " That GROUP or SET of black women are beautiful". :P
Raymond Tyson I'm pretty sure he meant exactly what he actually said.
flayuhat That is what makes me laugh and facepalm at the same time these days.
Raymond Tyson And comments like yours are what make _me_ laugh and facepalm at the same time these days.
flayuhat God damn you're a moron.
Why is nobody pointing out how beautifully this is done? This is amazing! 💕
"Bye Felicia"
I died.
Pocahontas won.
she just won the video.
Yes!! I love pocahontas :)

¡Hola!
This is nothing like the princesses. Buzzfeed doesn’t know the Disney princesses
And between 5:44 and 5:49, Elsa doesn't need much time to put on a pair of sandals, does she? :)
***** Pixar has relations with Disney! Disney PIXAR.
***** Actually it is Disney..
+Europa Islam Ummmmm... you know Disney owns Pixar, right?
+Europa Islam Uh, Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, Frozen and Big Hero 6 are the last four Disney animation movies. Nothing to do with Pixar.
Did anyone else notice Keith as Linguine? He looked demented.
which one is linguine? .-.
+Lexie_cl linguine is the baker from beauty and the beast
+Trini Fernandez o ty
I thought Linguine was from Ratatouille?
+Victoria Kelly He is, you're correct. He even has a stuffed mouse on his head
Lilo at the end
Jennifer Burks IKR, SO CUTE OMG >W
Jennifer Burks I wonder where is Stitch?
Oh! I never thought that. They can just add a blue collar nametag marked Stitch. Or experiment name?
Where was she
+Jeremiah Reyes I thought it was a lady and a tramp reference but idk
"Listen, do you hear that?"
"That's my stomach growling"
I hate those people
We hate you too
THEFareday aww thank you I appreciate that!!! I was hoping you would. ✌👏
The girl who played Elsa looks literally just how I imaged the real life version of her would look like.
LOVE IT! People complaining are taking it way too seriously!
My thoughts exactly
Definitely
Anyone watch Lindsey Ellis and just came here to reminisce on this weird-ass video.
The Pocahontas actress in this was so hilariously well done!
This was stupid.
AND Mulan wasn't even in it, THE COOLEST PRINCESS OF THEM ALL!
Mulan is not a princess...princess. She was not one before she married and her husband is not a prince, not royalty even but very close to it.
True. lol But she's the coolest to me. :|
She actually was, at 4:50. Just for a sec
Nika L'tari Oh yeah!? I'm gonna go back and look.
Amanda Suárez Any female lead is labelled as a princess under Disney. Even Alice counts.
I just now realized belle was reading fifty shades of gray ew no
50 shades of gray is a good book.... Actually read it it's not just about sex
+Novette 2022 your photo and the 2022 part gives me life
Yeah it's not just about sex, it's also about poor writing and the glorification of manipulative abuse. :))) not gross at all
Belle 50 SHADES OF GREY ISN'T LITERATURE!!!!
+Novette 2022 100 likes. your welcome
I love that most of the comments are about how pocahontas is beautiful.
I love the Pocahontas one. Her voice and how she looks fits perfectly 😍
You know what? Bye Felicia!

+ClaraWaitsForTheDoctor well you can wait a long time
Um, wow.... 2010s were really a different time.
We're still living in the 2010s it doesn't matter that there's now a 21 on the year, culturally we're still the 10s for another year and a half... Assuming there's still any culture left, considering content like this more or less exists to kill it
ikr so cringe
