This maybe off topic but I've been watching your videos and you seem really knowledgeable so I wanted to ask you. I'm looking in to my first rc car. I've decided I want a short course truck. That's for any help or info.
i would suggest arrma. least expensive, good aftermarket support and simple to work on. if you plan on racing, the associated would easily be the best on the track out of the box, but being a race oriented vehicle, it may be the least durable during hard crashes. i am a traxxas guy,, and love my slashes. i think it is the best out of the 3 in durability, but the higher initial expense hurts for beginners. it has best stock parts support, best aftermarket support. you may want to consider the brushed senton to start out. while being slower, its a great truck at a really great price. it can be easily modified for higher speeds later as your driving skills improve, and its much harder to break it with the milder power system. jmo😎
they're all very good. Traxxas will have the best parts support, especially if you have a hobby shop nearby. Arrma will probably be the toughest, but it has a few fiddly parts to keep an eye on. Associated will probably drive the best. Can't go wrong with any of them IMO.
@@christianmedley1526 I just bought my 10 year old son a slash vxl (brushless) 4x4 for Christmas and we both love it! My neighbor bought a brushed Traxxas rustler and was happy with it until he saw my sons brushless slash and now he’s doing the upgrade and it’s going to cost him more money than if he would have just bought a brushless one originally.
One thing I have to disagree with Razor is you said the xmaxx steers better then the 8s outcast? While I don't own either from what I've heard the 8s outcast turns and handles much better than the xmaxx while the Xmaxx might be more durable though like you said.

Good morning. I am wondering if you can help me with a truck choice. I want to buy an RC Truck for my son. What would be the best to buy up to like $400 that will be good for outside. I’d like it to be fast but be good at crawling over things and going through shallow water and mud. We have a lot of land so I just want it to be a good truck that he can get some use out of.
Just a question, but why not TLR? did you just prefer the parts support from the other brands or was there something you didn't like about the buggies, truggies, etc.?
Please try to always tell us an important thing like you did in this video.. if parts are easy to get and maybe where and if other parts might be compatible if originals are not available.

Like I said though thank you for your content and your effort. It does not go unappreciated
Great list! Instead of the Outcast 8S I would put the Kraton 8S EXB on the list of honorable mentions. The Xmaxx is pretty comparable in size to the Outcast so if you wanted something that drives like a truggy and is more durable than a DBXLE then the K8S fits in right there 👍
You don't think dbxle bulletproof i Don't own but have 5ive t i guess jumping the arrmas tougher but the losis are real 5th scales with better gears ⚙r than the arrmas I although the arrma 5th scale ones are better than there 8th
@@paulclancy2404 You certainly can bulletproof a DBXLE. However it's still about 5lbs heavier than a bulletproof Kraton. I have the following. DBXLE, Kraton 8s and Xmaxx. I like the Xmaxx for big jumps, I like the Kraton for handling and jumps and I like the DBXLE for handling and just being a giant RC 🤩 DBXLE is significantly more expensive and the upgrades are also more expensive. All are great RC's 👍
Traxxas is not higher quality than Ecx by any Means. Infact the opposite. At least there durability out of the box isn't great from what I've experienced. My ECXs were impossible to break. Good video anywhow.
ECX is pretty durable for the stock brushed motor, but once you go brushless and run into stuff, I find it less durable than the Traxxas brushed cars. The Traxxas cars all have metal geared transmissions and thicker driveshafts to handle brushless with no mods needed.
@@RazorRC almost every single Traxxas I have bought has had durability issues. I ran my ECXS brushless bashing the crap out of em i think one may have needed an arm but that's the blunt of it. I have loved Traxxas over the years, don't get me wrong but when you keep spending money on top dollar stuff that's not very durable out of the box its very frustrating. My Revo 3.3 was one exception. Never broke anything on it. But everything else I bought Traxxas wise, first run out of the box even the brushed cars just snapping parts left and right. I'm still a slash fan. I do like Traxxas but not there stock parts at all. If I get anything from them again it will be bought with all Rpm upgrades. Now for good basher right out of the box that takes a hell of a beating is the Arrma Typhon. The thing will flip a thousand times before something breaks. Just better injection mold quality overall.
@@RazorRC I look forward to it. BTW, I really like the way you score the rcs in their class. I appreciate the attempt to make the reviews less subjective.
Firts of all, Traxxas should not be on any "Top 10 of " list. Second: On the crawler side the Absima Khamba CR 3.4 just obilterates the TRX-4 in terms of performance, durability, built quality, and features. also Looks much better, and yes, it's made in china like any Traxxas out there. The MT10 rival is a perfect 1/10 basher, agree with you on that. For buggies, the Xray are ok, but I prefer the Tekno, the LC , Serpent and Kyosho ones, the last two with several world championships under the belt. The Kaiju breaks if you look at it with a bit on intensity. About the Arrma ones, I have around 307 models of several brands but not a single Arrma, so I can't tell anything about them but for actual speed, I use My Kyosho Fantom Ep with brushless electronics running on 3s. The little thing breaks the 110 mph barrier, it's super agile, quick-reacting and actualy it corners! At higher speeds that all those common street bashers without losing an inch of grip. For 1/8 MT, the HPI Savage Flux (last version) And finally on the desert buggy category, the FTX DR8, a beautiful beast, with a wonderful price.I listened to your opinion I respect it and here I leave mine alongside my experience with the brands I mentioned.

They are mostly all so expenisve. I want one that's big and has like higher suspension so it doesn't get studk. But every good one is like 300+ bucks
Great video and insight on many rigs would love to see a solid axle monster truck category since I just bought a lmt roller 😜can’t wait for that thing to arrive and then eventually maybe kick the tires on a Trx 4 sport and start some some crawling bought a scx-24 and enjoying it more than I ever thought I would
Where to buy X-ray in us
Startin to think Monica Lewinsky's under the table smokin somethin as often as you laugh every other min..... 😉
Arrma senton 3s is a great sct
Nice
They might be your favorites but those are NOT cheap at all
Brother thank you for your content and all of your hard work but it's probably a little bit clickbait-ish to label a video 10 best cars of 2022 or anything to that effect when we're like 20 minutes into 2022 lol. Like I said though thank you for your content and your effort. It does not go unappreciated
How many Drag RC's do you have?
none
Am I the only one who doesn't understand the popularity of crawlers? I don't see the appeal of them. But hey, to each there own
Yea, i even get bored with a basher if the spot isn’t really cool im playing w it at. They look awesome though.
@@cds1223 I totally understand. I switch btw basher and on road nitro. I love the speed and sound
My local RC hobby shop has the whole amp line for 99.99
The four-wheel drive Granite is much better than the rivals much better they don't even compare stop with that rival
How’s it fill to be the first person to post a rc video in 2022?
Traxxas is not higher quality than Ecx by any
Means.
I just came back from lhs 369 may even been 389 i thought it was mt8
I like Arrma but their 8s models ESC overheats. It's only 160amps compared to Xmaxx 200amps. Don't know what they were thinking there.
I hope the 2 associated vehicles aren't like the b6.1 cant get freaking parts for it
pretty much all the race kits nowadays only have support for maybe a year or two when they get discontinued. 😞
So maybe I need to stock up on parts while the vehicle is still new...
no no no Corally is the Champignon of the world YES. Corally is het beste van allemaal
onderdelen snel leverbaar.
At midnight😂
Back to a pumpkin
Left out 1/8 buggy
someday... don't have enough experience to comment on the best 1/8 buggy
@@RazorRC I look forward to it. BTW, I really like the way you score the rcs in their class. I appreciate the attempt to make the reviews less subjective.
No ECX no RedCat, No WPL, Entry level $200+
Huh? The first car is an ECX and costs $160.
Sledge is better than kraton 6s
I enjoy mine and find them to have unique features/options while being durable. I can see why they make list but arguing over brands is for fanboys
No idea why armour don't try harder on replicating f1
No-go for the ecx, the brand died and it’s got no support
You must be thinking of a different brand. ECX has been around a long time, is owned and still supported by Horizon as their budget/entry-level brand.
Good idea to stay with a nitro platform, electric are a joke.
