I'm not experienced writing patterns, but this is what I came up with. The video provides some important explanatory details.
    Inner circles
1 Slip knot, 6 SC, tighten tail, SL ST into first ST, 3 CH
3 DC into each ST (18 total), 2 DC into the linking ST, 1 ST to join the row, cut the thread, tuck the tail
1 Slip knot, 6 SC, tighten tail, SL ST into first ST, 3 CH
3 DC into each ST (18 total), 2 DC into the linking ST, frog 1 ST, use the tail to join and finish (do not cut the working thread)
Connect circles 13 CH from circle with working thread, join to an outer ST of the other circle from the outside (front to back) of the circle), 1 CH
From now on, crochet back loop only
Whorls 1 - 1 SL ST, 1 SC, 1 HDC, 7 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC, 1 SL ST, join to circle in next ST with SL ST, turn, 1 CH
Skip the joining SL ST and starting in the next ST, 1 SL ST, 11 SC, 1 SL ST, join to next ST in circle with SL ST, turn, 1 CH
2 - 1 SL ST, 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 1 HDC, 3 DC, 3 DC in 1 ST (INC), 3 DC, 1 HDC, 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), join to circle, turn, 1 CH
As before - 1 SL ST, 15 SC, 1 SL ST, join to circle, turn, 1 CH
    3 - 1 SL ST, 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 1 SC, 1 HDC, 9 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC, 2 SC in 1 ST, 1 SL ST, turn, 1 CH
1 SL ST, 17 SC, 1 SL ST, join to circle, turn, 1 CH
4 - 1 SL ST, 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 1 SC, 1 HDC, 9 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC, 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 2 SC in 1 ST (INC), 1 SL ST, join to circle, turn, 1 CH

    5-16 - 1 SL ST, 5 SC, 1 HDC, 9 DC, 1 HDC, 5 SC, 1 SL ST, join to circle, turn, 1 CH

Yes good work. Now, uh, hypothetical question. How would I go about making one big enough to fit an adult woman. For example, one that could make me feel like a small hermit crab determining whether this vessel will suit my delicate hermit crab sensibilities

I am following this pattern with a thin thread to make a necklace, and the exact same question came to mind 🤭
Besides working with a thicker material, I would make bigger initial circles, increasing the number of rows and stitches. Then I would join them with more chains (always checking my body's measurements), maybe adding a few more increases. Of course, that would require some trial and error in order to get the right shape.
... Don't know if I'll make one for myself soon, but I think I'll start doing one for my cats 😸

Have you seen that giant yarn which is more like wool roving? Usually people make super chunky blankets with it. You would need something like that and you use your arm as the crochet hook. It would be soft though not structured. If you wanted a structured one you would have to use some kind of nylon or polyester rope of a very large gauge and I'm not sure how easy that would be to work with. Also I believe that theoretically you can just double everything to increase the size but I haven't tested that yet.

On the "third set" when you say "make a high element ", does that mean to make a half double crochet, or what?

Yes, if you watch closely you can see her make a half double crochet there. I had to watch a few times to be sure.

I like your style of tutorial but I am so confused how many stitches I'm supposed to have in the second round of the circle? it's not well described/demonstrated. 6x3 is 18 so where are those last 2 stitches meant to be going? What does '21st crochet will join the row" mean? Slip stitch? Should I have 20 or 21 double crochets in round 2?

    • @thamertanner5448
      @thamertanner5448 2 роки тому +1

Not sure if you figured this out but you don't count the chain 3, you make 3 double crochet in each stich around, at the end you make 2 double crochet in the join stitch of the previous round (normally you would not crochet in this stitch). That makes a set of 3 with the chain 3. The way you finish off the circle makes the 21st stitch.

12 pairs of rows that follow the pattern: 1st row: single crochets, half double crochet, double crochets, half double , single crochets, 2nd row: single crochets. don't forget the slip stitches at the beginning and end of each row.
