In this video we will show you how to fit a replacment or new Polo MK2F Head Gasket, We will also be replacing the old radiator in the car. REMEMBER NEVER REUSE HEAD BOLTS - always spend the money and get new ones.
I would say this is not a easy job and if you are not confident in taking this on seek a professional.

Thankyou so much for this video,it helped me yesterday to do the head gasket on my 1 3 mk2 jetta. Amazing video
I really enjoyed the process to replace the gasket, thank you!!
when you reuse the old bolts which allready has been in tension... you cant hear that screech sound when you turn that last 180 DGR ... and thats not good.. but else. That movie is good and you are on too it . 5 STARS -- the cream of the polo GB Nation. SALUTEE thee... respect. Wiking from Denmark. ( it's east of colchester ( Danish West ) :D
Thanks for the video and showing the details this is really gonna help me with my golfmk2 1.3 nz engine.
Really well edited video. Good work.
Was it a head gasket failure or a blocked crankcase breather problem . That would also throw that oil and cream mixture into the air pan when the pressure behind the breather got to great and it cleared the blockage up the pipe .This was common on old polos . The exact slight water leak you showed was also common and mentioned in the Haynes manuals and it was a volkswagon design fault ( i had the same leak from that exact position twice . It didn't really bother me as it was a really tiny amount and ran out of engine block and not into it ) When you change oil its a good idea to occassionly take the crankcase breather pipe off and squirt carb cleaner into the crankcase with the sump nut removed . It will drain straight out and flush some gunge out . Hope this helps somebody
Superb video. Still not sure if i am brave enough to attempt it!
Sherif of Nothingham would have hated u guys! :D
this is my dad's car so its funny how i see it getting upgraded lol, irl its really old cuz he bought it 22 years ago and it has rust every where and the eniside... just forget that.. 😳
Did You skimmed the head before reinstalling it back??

How many hours did it take to replace the head gasket? I’m driving mine around Europe/ Asia and it just broke in Georgia! Kind of fucked!

Did you use new head bolts? You can't reuse the bolts
Yeah we always use new head bolts
