Trainz | Conway Staves & Cooperage Company | Ep 11

The Conway Staves & Cooperage Company is a company owned shortline railroad that travels along an old coal hauling branchline in South-Eastern Kentucky. The line works the companies own buildings that consist of a Stave Mill, 2 Stave Yards, and a Cooperage. All of which goes into the creation of one Product. The Whiskey Barrel. After doing all of their moving of materials became a small hassle by road, The Company saw to do it by rail. After all, there was an abandoned line connecting their facilities. So the company went ahead and purchased the old line and made connection tracks to their buildings. Bought 2 ALCO RS36's (346 & 347), and some of their own private flat cars for moving Stave Stacks. CS&CC have been making bank ever since. Running along the 20 mile branch line bringing logs in from CSX, and taking Whiskey barrels back out to CSX in the downtown area of Conway. Norfolk Southern also runs along a portion of the line to get to a coal mine on the other side of the route. The company only runs Monday threw Thursday. On Saturdays they fire up an old 2-8-0 Steam locomotive that they've refurbished and run it with passenger excursions on two round trips. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. So come to the place where alcoholism begins! The Conway Staves & Cooperage Company!
