I know I'm mad late and I'm pretty sure someone already mentioned it, but with the Dragonzord's feet in Battle Mode, you have to tilt the feet/ankle joints downward. This will give those grey panels enough clearance to allow you to close the black panels at his hips, locking the calf-portions within, securing the Battle Mode thighs.
It's the tip of the silver door "clicking" up against the foot, not the actual mechanism. You can see it at 9:48. It's just the silver door getting stuck behind the foot and popping out with a click.
Hi, I just got my legacy Dragonzord and the problem you have when the feet don't stay in place can be fixed by closing the smaller black flap when the feet are angled down. (for reference in your video at 15:08 after you angled the feet down close that small part of the flap and that'll make it completely secure) just FYI if you hadn't figured it out already.
The tail really bugs me. If it was really screen accurate it would split in half after the 2nd larger segment with just the rest of it after that fitting into the Power Drill, but because of the ball joints we have a tail that is much more accurate in Dragonzord mode and horribly oversized in Dragon Megazord mode. Look at screenshots from the show...there are only 3 segments visible in the Power Drill.
I loved the quality of the video in your review. I also like the fact that you placed the camera so that you can manipulate the figure and have the whole thing in the shot. A lot of people reviewed this figure and had the camera between them and the figure which looks horrible with awkward close-ups as they are trying to make adjustments to the figure.
I wish the manufacturers at Bandai had put a sound chip inside the chest piece of the legacy dragonzord with a button on the back to make it roar and to also light up on the front, and I also wish the manufaturers had also included a seperate shorter tail accessory not on ball joints for the dragonzord's staff, AND I also wish the manufactures had made the legs stay snapped together and not come loose at 9:25-10:20-11:09 when assembling the dragonzord in battle-mode and mega-dragonzord mode. And I had no idea that the mastodon, triceratops, and saber-tooth tiger of the 2010 megazord were compadable to also combine with the legacy dragonzord too.
I mean there is not as big of an issue having the 2010 Megazord for this combo, but I would consider Legacy Titanus! It's really a great addition to the legacy line.
great video! I just got my original dragonzord and megazord from my family home loft and it was amazing! they look great apart from Dragonzord has misplaced his tail! love them!
Don't have the legacy megazord or dragonzord but I do have legacy Titanus and it is friggin amazing. The sculpted detail as opposed to the stickers saves me a lot of trouble and will withstand the test of time. The front piece can accommodate the dragonzord chestpiece too. It is far superior. Plus I got white tigerzord too and they both look good together. Looking forward to the thunder megazord!
It seems like the production of this collectible went in reverse from what combining toys usually do; traditionally, combining toys have features of their individual parts suffer somewhat in order to provide quality combinations. However, in this case the combined modes suffer somewhat so that the individual Dragonzord could achieve what is without a doubt ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Just looking at the two Dragonzords themselves, individually, the Legacy is far, far superior in just about every conceivable way, barring the absence of electronic lights and sounds. And of course, the original is far superior in the combined modes. I'll definitely be getting the Legacy to display solely in his standard mode, which again is a thing of masterful beauty as a collectible to a long time fan. Another great review, JT!
You can add Saba and the White tiger zord to the Legacy list. So far nothing about the thunderzords, but I would imagine it's not too far from being announced.
I'm sure your question was ready answered, but yes the 2010 version was indeed manufactured with intention of a compatible Dagonzord but it never got released because of Saban faking the PR rights back again.
I've sold my entire set of the 90's dino ultrazord around 12 years ago but I decided to buy this Dragonzord legacy recently after looking the display at Toys fair. The old version just looked stiff and fat compare to this. This one just grab my attention and its actually the only Power ranger Zord I own right now. I dont care about the diecast either, but I just love the overall look of the robot.
Morphenomenal. I didn't get into collecting Power Ranger toys til Samurai and missed the 2010 zord. I have been interested in getting one for ebay, but wanted to know if it is compatible with the Dragonzord!
I just got mine and you guys in these reviews make disassembling this thing look so easy lol. I thought I was going to break the legs trying to split it open since you don't have much room to grip it anywhere else. And trying to get that tail out of the chest for the weapon...that thing is in there tight as hell. Love it though and after seeing comparison to the original glad I waited for this and not blowing a small fortune on the 90s one.
Yours is the first video I have seen that shows the original Dragonzord next to the Legacy one. It also shows off the 2010 Megazord which I have seen a lot of people ask about on other videos. I have the Legacy Megazord and I have to say a lot of the problems you pointed out aren't much better with the new one. I agree with the play factor, getting the zords together was a pain for Mega Dragonzord and not something I want to do often if at all. I also have to agree with the legs, I just cannot fathom why they would not have a better way to keep them up.
AwesomeJohn22 Hey man, for the past 3 days I have had a lot of thought about where I want to take this channel. Can you help? Should I still do gaming and stuff... if so what kind?
JT, could you review the actual ranger action figures in a collection video like you did the megazords, and go through the size "classes"? I think that'd be great for those out there (myself included) that want to get them.
you were saying that you couldn't get the black door to click when u moved the dragon zords feet in to battle mode so go a head and put the feet once its in move the toes or the feet forward and at the same time push the door closed it should snap in but the tabs will dangle try it & see what happens
If you guys look on the box of both the Legacy Dragonzord and Legacy Megazord, you'll notice that the age recommendation is 13+ I believe. I'm no demography expert but I think that's indicating that this is a figure for collecting purposes HOWEVER children may still play with it. As an owner of the Legacy Megazord (and soon the Legacy Dragonzord in a couple of days) as well as an observer of many Legacy Dragonzord reviews, I have to say they're both definitely good to play with. I suppose you'll just need to have a child who isn't a monstrous destroyer of all things good in the universe. As well, for anybody asking (and to you, JTM :D), word on the web is that the Legacy Megazord holds up a lot better.
Did you ever grab the legacy Titanus on discount between December 2014-January 2015? $99-109 was a pretty fair price. It would only make sense to review Titanus after reviewing this
I can't help to think the feet issue could be fixed if you pointed the foot forwards? At the angle only. Then put the leg up and maybe the black "door" can clip back in.
You are doing something wrong. When u put the leg up on the dragonzord u pull the triceratops or the saber tooth tiger on and then pull the foot down so the U can connect to the red square on the feet and on the dragonzord the black flap (not the silver) should snap in. Holding the leg in place. In other words fold the dragonzord leg. Use the black flap to snap it in pull the foot down more and it should hold it when u put on the megazord leg slightly move the foot up again making sure the black flap doesn't unsnap.
Ah, too bad. I still got the original megazord that was given to me when I was 7, but unfortunately I didn't get the original dragonzord and titanus to create ultrazord. Oh well..
All that plastic creaking brings back memories of my first megazord. Jungle Fury with the blue gazzele for a leg. (Can't remember the name) aaaah nostalgia.
JTMitchell87 the legacy dragon zords chest plate is plastic but the original is die cast metal you can tell the difference between them from the way they look ones shinier than the other
I definitely will get the Legacy DragonZord and it will be my first DragonZord. I will also get the OG DragonZord. I have the OG Megazord and 2010 Megazord. I really wasnt too impressed with the Legacy MZ because it didnt seem like enough diecast to me and new stickers didnt win me over, so I passed up on that guy...but NOW im kinda bummed I did, Lol.
It's probably been said, but the leg assembly is composed of standard swivel joints, not a more sturdy ratchet. That's why the legs will not stay in place. Perhaps if the feet were not made of diecast the feet may stay in place, but that heavy metal, will pull the weight of the feet down. If Bandai were to put a ratchet joint inside the legs, like in the original toy, then that would hold the feet in place. As it is, all that is holding the feet inside the knees is friction, that's all. It's the only flaw I could see in this wonderful toy.
Have the 2010 Megazord, super glad I grabbed it for $20 instead of having to spend $60 on the Legacy release. This one gets all of the job done. Got Legacy Dragonzord for $55 and worth it.
The only thing I don't like abt the legacy dragonzord is that the dragonzord battlemode face is visible when the mouth of the legacy is partially opened. Its quite weird. Whereas the face isn't visible on the original deluxe dragonzord toy because the face of battlemode actually makes up the eyes of dragonzord on the original toy.
I might be in the minority (because I see people bring that up a lot) but the face doesn't really bother me that much. I didn't even notice it until I recently found a thread of people complaining about it and I'm still not all that bothered. I can understand those who don't like it, though. The Legacy line has a lot of "well why'd they go that route?" issues/problems.
It can be pretty distracting to be able to see the battlemode face in that mouth..haha.. Nonetheless, both the Legacy and the original toys have their own pros and cons. But the Legacy takes the cake for being show accurate in the detailing and improved quality here and there. I only wish they had added more articulation for the Legacy Megazord for instance instead of using an exact model of the old one albeit on a smaller/slimmer mold. An elbow joint and thigh swivel would've been great on legacy Megazord. The articulation on the upcoming Chogokin Megazord looks really impressive. It's basically a vast improvement over the original deluxe and legacy Megazord. But its gonna be pricey..
Hey Mitch. So I just got my legacy Dragonzord today as well. I own legacy of both but same issues doesn't lean as much though. I think the fact that the legs/feet are diecast is what is hurting it in both battle mode and mega dragonzord mode.
I never had the original megazord and dragonzord when i was little. My first was the thunder megazord and white tigerzord which i loved and still have but i always wanted the original ones even today. The legacy looks cool a lil pricey but I'll buy it when i get some extra cash
That tail is fucking epic. I had the original Dragonzord back in the 90s and was always really disappointed with the tail. I wish I could justify buying these legacy toys nowadays.
yea i have both legacy versions and i have the same issues with the mega dragonzord, i prefer the Battle mode which is more stable and in my opinion looks better
I just got the Legacy Dragonzord and got the Legacy Dinozord last year. I was in HS when the originals were out, I watched the show but never sought out he toys, so I never had them but I do have all the Masterpiece Transformers and had the G1 guys as a kid and fail to see the fascination with diecast these days. I've talked to other collectors and it seems to be all about the old toys having it so the new must, no real rational explanation as to why diecast is mandatory. It was fine in past but if it's adding more cost and weight (MP01 Optimus Prime terrifies me he's so heavy, I imagine he'll kill the dog if he were to shelf dive!) to the figure, I can do without it. With that said I haven't tried to combine these two just yet but if Titanus comes out and I fell like blowing $200 on it I'l definitely want to do the Ultrazord mode.
I think it has to do with nostalgia. Personally I had diecast growing up, like Diecast Lion Force Voltron, and that feel and weight of diecast, getting my little fingers caught and pinches between joints and being bruised, dropping them on my feet, etc. All that is nostalgia and adds to the feel of authenticity. That faded color on some of the new plastic reissues, the squeaky plastic joints and such, they just add to the fact that it doesnt feel the same I suppose
I know exactly what you mean by the pet thing, my friend...my dog decided she liked certain toys of mine and decided to mutilate the shield part of the Mastodon Dinozord from my original Megazord...royally sucked.
Hey, the Legacy Dragon Zord looks really cool. Now I want one. The Legacy 2010 Dino Megazord goes for over $60 on ebay, which is ok for me. So I'm pretty sure it's the same for the Dragonzor- >Dragonzord is over $150-300 on sites like amazon and ebay. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................................... ;-; I CAN'T PAY THAT MUCH! HOLY SHIT WHY!? I just had to be late for this, didn't I? FUCK!!!>_
This was a really great review and I was happy to see how the Dragonzord stacked up with the old 2010 megazord, instead of the legacy one for once.
It's the tip of the silver door "clicking" up against the foot, not the actual mechanism. You can see it at 9:48. It's just the silver door getting stuck behind the foot and popping out with a click.

just FYI if you hadn't figured it out already.
so we have the prehistoric Trio, The Dino Megazord, Dragonzord and the Brachiosaurus
This review convinced me to get the Dragonzord! I've never looked back!
Nice video. You are one of the first reviewers that actually used those clips under the dragonzord when you put him on the megazords shoulders.
The tail looks so amazing, I thought there wasn't a point of picking up legacy but this definitely sells it for me.
I loved the quality of the video in your review. I also like the fact that you placed the camera so that you can manipulate the figure and have the whole thing in the shot. the "clicking sound" is the flap banging against the foot.
So excited mine comes today.
I wanted for a size comparison of the trex and the dragon zord
Jose Alvarado dragonzord is like 3 inches taller than trex
great video! I just got my original dragonzord and megazord from my family home loft and it was amazing! they look great apart from Dragonzord has misplaced his tail! love them!
Always if im looking for a good review you are always a good choice! been watching your videos for years.
Don't have the legacy megazord or dragonzord but I do have legacy Titanus and it is friggin amazing. 12:35 - insert dirty joke 'HERE' XD
I used to have all these, hm... maybe should consider collecting them again.. my nephew would love them.

The dragonzord has a very iconic design
I've got the Legacy Dragonzord and it's such a cool toy and I'm planning to get the Legacy Megazord at some point as well
Did you ever find about the issue with the legs?
Morphenomenal. I didn't get into collecting Power Ranger toys til Samurai and missed the 2010 zord. I have been interested in getting one for ebay, but wanted to know if it is compatible with the Dragonzord!

i'm definitely gonna get this. i don't care if it's $80, a lot of effort was put into it, and it's certainly worth the 4 year wait
This version of the dragonzord is epic! i love it.
Awesome review!
Here's hoping that they actually come out with a proper legacy titanis soon. Sooner than 4 years from now at least.
Legacy Titanus was revealed last year, it will be released this fall for $200.
AwesomeJohn22 Hey man, for the past 3 days I have had a lot of thought about where I want to take this channel. Can you help? Should I still do gaming and stuff... if so what kind?
AJ Universe 4 years from now, I can confirm Titanus does exist
I can't wait for December and January cause in dec. Legacy Titanus comes out and in Jan 2015 the Legacy White Tiger comes gonna be sick

Great review still waiting for the season 7 zords review btw

Nope.

Are you making the video of the legacy white tiger zord, legacy Saba, and legacy power movie morpher, you'll be fantastic.
I think you need to move the ankle forward and then it locks into place. Also, how do you do that milli-second transformation?
He jump cuts, duh.
If you can help me it would be great what kind of camera was used to shoot this
Loved the review and comparison JT...great...I scored my Dragonzord for 35 dollars.
You should re do your season 1 and season 3 reviews with the legacy versions
Does this (and the titanus) still fit with the original release megazord?
Miguel Pabello If by original you mean the 2010 Megazord then yes, if you mean the 1993 Megazord then no.
Ah, too bad. I still got the original megazord that was given to me when I was 7, but unfortunately I didn't get the original dragonzord and titanus to create ultrazord. Oh well..

Can the 2010 Version combine with the 1993 version?
All that plastic creaking brings back memories of my first megazord. Jungle Fury with the blue gazzele for a leg. (Can't remember the name) aaaah nostalgia.
I am just waiting for the Super Chogokin coming out. But I don't think it will come.
Hey! Do the Legacy Megazord!
JTMitchell87 the legacy dragon zords chest plate is plastic but the original is die cast metal you can tell the difference between them from the way they look ones shinier than the other
Did you get it from Toys'r'us itself?
I definitely will get the Legacy DragonZord and it will be my first DragonZord. I will also get the OG DragonZord.
I have the OG Megazord and 2010 Megazord. I really wasnt too impressed with the Legacy MZ because it didnt seem like enough diecast to me and new stickers didnt win me over, so I passed up on that guy...but NOW im kinda bummed I did, Lol.
Really think the black part of the leg hatch is what should keep the leg in place.
It's probably been said, but the leg assembly is composed of standard swivel joints, not a more sturdy ratchet. That's why the legs will not stay in place. The cannons on the megazord when dragonzord is combined looks like vega form from den o
Have the 2010 Megazord, super glad I grabbed it for $20 instead of having to spend $60 on the Legacy release. This one gets all of the job done. Got Legacy Dragonzord for $55 and worth it.
Did they ever re-release Dragonzord in 2010 to go with the re-issued Megazord and Titanus?
Sadly, no
The only thing I don't like abt the legacy dragonzord is that the dragonzord battlemode face is visible when the mouth of the legacy is partially opened. Its quite weird. Whereas the face isn't visible on the original deluxe dragonzord toy because the face of battlemode actually makes up the eyes of dragonzord on the original toy.

They are re-releasing the Dino megazord. And the Legacy titanus comes with clips to help the ultrazord stand better.
BOM86 When will this happen?
Hey Mitch. So I just got my legacy Dragonzord today as well. I own legacy of both but same issues doesn't lean as much though. I think the fact that the legs/feet are diecast is what is hurting it in both battle mode and mega dragonzord mode.
Try moving the ankle foreword then push it into place?
You think they'll ever do a legacy Thunderzord? I extremely tempted to just order one off Amazon because its the only zord I don't have
Well, they announced a legacy tigerzord as well as a legacy saba, so maybe.
I have the Dragonzord and the problem you have you make the feet bend back all the way and then you can make the black part click in
Did you get the legacy titanus?
The new Dragonzord even has arm articulation, the arms unpeg and can swivel joints
It's an easy fix ti level the spear. Use a shim under the 2 short legs.
I rlly need the original legacy megazord, even though I’m not into PR anymore
With the knee thing you couldnt figure out, move the ankle join away from the body then close the black part
cool review man..subbed.
Titanus needed a retool for this. He really did.
I never had the original megazord and dragonzord when i was little. My first was the thunder megazord and white tigerzord which i loved and still have but i always wanted the original ones even today. The legacy looks cool a lil pricey but I'll buy it when i get some extra cash
Now if only Bandai would make Dragonzord and the combined variations in the Super Robot Chogokin line, then I would care.
That tail is fucking epic. I had the original Dragonzord back in the 90s and was always really disappointed with the tail. I wish I could justify buying these legacy toys nowadays.
I wish I would have bought the Legacy Megazord when I saw it in stores.
Torally worth the money.
i cant wait till this becomes available in europe
You can get it on amazon
dylan carlucci
uk amazon?
yea
Did you get it? I waited 3 years to ask, this should be enough no?
awsome ! the most important you are happy with your toys
Dragonzords's whole waist it metal and the center gold piece of his chest is metal also
yea i have both legacy versions and i have the same issues with the mega dragonzord, i prefer the Battle mode which is more stable and in my opinion looks better
Maybe the Dragonzord tail is ment to go into the chest cavity of Titanus?
whenever I try to reassemble the zord the place where the legs split don't click back into place. is that normal?
by that I mean I put the thing back together after separating it but it doesn't click back.
mitch i am a child and i need advice. if i were to get one to get the most fun out of it, wich would it be old or new.please respond
The original has way more playability for sure.
thank you
*****
I completely agree
I just got the Legacy Dragonzord and got the Legacy Dinozord last year. That faded color on some of the new plastic reissues, the squeaky plastic joints and such, they just add to the fact that it doesnt feel the same I suppose
the legacy dragonzord was the first dragonzord i ever own
I know exactly what you mean by the pet thing, my friend...my dog decided she liked certain toys of mine and decided to mutilate the shield part of the Mastodon Dinozord from my original Megazord...royally sucked.
Wow I need to grab this one, more articulation than the original!
I think the one thing I hate about the Mega Dragonzord is there is no place to store the tail or the chest piece :(
You should fold the ankle down to put black tab and then fold the ankle up
I was looking at another reviewer earlier and he was having the same problem.
Lets see how the Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caesar is next to this one
Can this combine with the Hasbro 2020 Megazord tho?
Nope.
This dragonzord and this hasbro Megazord are a same size and well as they’re were fighting each other
Can u make a video to show how to make those cool intros
Hey, the Legacy Dragon Zord looks really cool. Now I want one. The Legacy 2010 Dino Megazord goes for over $60 on ebay, which is ok for me. So I'm pretty sure it's the same for the Dragonzor- >Dragonzord is over $150-300 on sites like amazon and ebay. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................................... ;-; I CAN'T PAY THAT MUCH! HOLY SHIT WHY!? I just had to be late for this, didn't I? FUCK!!!>_
11:14 Well, it wouldn't come loose if you didn't shake it vigorously.
where do you get the right one these days???
Please tell me where I can get this and the legacy megazord in 2021
i picked this up yesterday, and my leg does the same thing as yours does...have you found anything how to fix it? *****
God I wish I had gotten this and the Megazord when they came out. They are over 350 bucks now.
You should get the legacy thunder megazord and legacy tiger zord. Legacy ninja megazord and legacy falcon zord
