all the locked on shows hosted by people in their early 20s whose sports history knowledge only goes back 10-15 years are pretty comical

They don't have any idea this happened before with the Big East.
@@jonm4501heck this happened before then with the Missouri Valley Conference the Metro Conference in 1980s, in the middle 1990s both the Big Sky and Big West, back in the late 1970s the Ivy League and Pioneer League and two other conferences that are FCS/D1AA football now were D1A and gave full athletic scholarships but to stay FBS had to add certain schools and keep giving scholarships and other programs. But their academic arrogance spurned several schools that later on in the early 80s try to mend fences and such but damage was done and doomed to D1AA/FCS football status. By the way the schools they originally turned down were not schools excellent in athletics but piss poor in academics. Far from it, as the schools were Northwestern, Tulane, Tulsa, Duke, all three service academies, Rice, UNT, Colorado State, to name a few and all top 150 academic institutions out of 2800 or so that were measured. In other words kind of like the PAC and now maybe the ACC, so smart they made stupid decisions lol 😂!

I actually enjoy the mind conjecture. I miss Gold and Blue Dude. He didn't take himself seriously and was having fun. Sure realignment is serious and I wish it had never happened. But this is driven by TV executives who will destroy college football for ratings. They didn't have to overpay the SEC or the BIG10. They didn't have to give ND its own TV deal. Just greed. Where were was ND or the leagues going to go?
Yes, Gold and Blue Dude, from the jump in every video made it clear what it was. FOR FUN - now he did have videos where he would classify them as wished or hoped for, potential outcomes, or what he thought was realistic.
But the big thing was didn't claim to have inside sources to know something when he didn't. The only school he ever claimed to know about was his West Virginia Mountaineers - but even then it said in terms of from being associated with the university he felt that the school would do "X" or do "Y".

Don’t forget about PATC. If he is way the hell wrong he says, “I or we will have to change the chalkboard and whiteboard and change sports’ stuff,” instead of saying he was way the hell wrong. If he is wrong but not egregiously bad and stupid, he will say, “we here at PATC have to take the L.” He is as bad as Colin Cowherd and Idiot Ding Bat Joe Klatt but a little better than either sometimes and as out there as Genetics 56, who he disses but has as much correct before Minnesota Fat Ass says it and vice versa. You know who really knows about what is happening? " It's seriously getting old especially when almost every ACC teams would rather just stay where they are than join the Allstate 12 to make an extra $5k a year. When FSU and Clemson leave we will see what happens. Most likely nothing at all other than the ACC filling in their places!
Not only would they prefer to STAY. ACC teams will make $20 Million MORE EACH next season and every season going forward just by staying.
There is no better payday in the BIG K COLA 12 PACK CONFERENCE sponsored by Kroger so long as the ACC maintains at least 15 teams AND it has the Pro Rata to do it because ESPN WANTS the ACC to stay intact to protect the almost BILLION $$$ that ESPN has Invested in the ACC Network (which will make ESPN $2.5 Billion through the end of the current TV Contract for doing NOTHING other than just airing ACC games in the Time Slots that ESPN NEEDS games to Air).
There is NO INCENTIVE to LEAVE the ACC for MOUNTAIN DEW 12 PACK CONFERENCE for ANY REASON

You guys are delusional. When FSU, Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, PIttsburgh, Miami, and Louisville all dip, the ACC is going the way of the Pac 12. It's adorable that you all think you are a cohesive unit, though.
Stanford and Notre Dame end up wherever and the rest goes AAC or Mtn West. Duke/Syracuse might get a lifeline for basketball, we'll see. Wake, BC, Cal, and SMU are not P3.

Being a Great Football Brand is KING. But being from a Great Market is QUEEN. And being a Great Basketball Brand is a JACK.
But being a Great Overall Sports Program is a 10. You NEED a 10, J, Q and K as part of your ROYAL FLUSH.

Realignment didn't pull Missouri, Rutgers, Maryland etc because they were KINGS. They were MARKETS/QUEENS.
You don;'t hear talk about North Carolina and Virginia because they are KINGS. They are QUEENS.
Also... UNC is a JACK and so is Kansas and Duke and UConn. But these JACKS pop up because they have VALUE.
UNC and Virginia are also 10's... so is Stanford and guess who grabbed it some VALUE.
REALIGNMENT is NOT all about FOOTBALL. It is about MONEY.
And while there are a couple KINGS out there in the world the next go around is about 10,s Jacks and Queens.
Look at who is LEFT BEHIND - Oregon State and Washington State - not 10's or Higher,
Who is the LAST man holding the Bag in the Big 12 or ACC? Not any 10's or Higher.
Who is talked about getting KICKED OUT of the B1G or SEC? Not any 10's or Higher.
The QUEENS and JACKS will get picked up and so will most of the 10's because they bring MONEY.
LARGE MARKETS - GREAT BASKETBALL BRANDS - OVERALL SPORTS PROGRAMS
That is where the next round of expansion is headed. Not FOOTBALL because that round is DONE.

Wow. Just wow. Football generates 80% of revenue, basketball 15% and all else 5%. Neither P2 “needs” basketball. In fact, the B1G gets along just fine without it.
There are no longer any markets, just brands. Alabama draws well in Seattle, Ohio State draws well in San Diego. The top schools are all national brands. Their market is America. Small regional brands like UNC (#46 in viewership) and UVA (#58) don’t generate much revenue. The reality is that unless a school can be financially additive (generate more revenue than the payout) it will be a liability, not an asset. The SEC will have a higher per school payout WITHOUT those two than with them. Simple math. You are trying to make a case that can’t be made.

Who is living in the past? Rutgers & Maryland? That was over a decade ago. Things have changed. Oklahoma is a brand. There are way bigger markets than OKC that all have college football teams. Basketball is the cherry on the sundae. But football is the ice cream.

The ESPN College Football Invitational Tournament and SEC Showcase was not going to happen without an SEC team. Period. So ESPN had to have Alabama represent the SEC. But then that created a problem because Texas beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa by double digits. So ESPN had to take them both. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you.
