Very good to introduce western Hyogo (Harima) and Tatsuno in English. Tatsuno is a charming old town in a countryside which is undiscovered by foreign tourists. But I suggest that the town of Tatsuno improve the quality of accommodation. Even Umetama Inn, a famous traditional inn featured in a movie, needs to improve itself.
Access to Tatsuno is not too good. One has to take a train on the Kishin Line from Himeji or taxi from Tatsuno station on JR. Foreign tourists may have to think of taking taxi from Aioi station on Shinkansen. Otherwise, one needs to rent a car and drive. So the local accommodation is important if Tatsuno wants to attract foreign tourists.

The young charming Lino Leia san introduced the area very well.
I live in Himeji and I visit Tatsuno and Taishi area sometimes with my family.
If someone visits this area, I also recommend visiting Somen-no-sato museum.
Ibo-no-Ito somen is very popular noodle in this area. You can see how noodle is produced in the museum and you can also experience the taste in the restaurant.
The museum is open 9 am to 5 pm.
They also have a local somen noodle restaurant and a museum shop.
According to the official website the restaurant is open from 11 am to 9 pm (last order 8:00 pm). Monday is closed for holiday.
