I think it's the presentation. The 3D graphics, the gunslot & HP UI makes DRG Survivor looks like an actual twin-stick shooter. Vampire Survivor simply rolls you in with that pixelated art and just you, your tiny HP bar, the enemies, and the clock.

That explains a lot. The game feels... I don't want to be rude, but weirdly low quality compared to DRG. Which isn't really fair since DRG is a high bar to compare a Bullet Heaven to. Regardless, I would 100% play cause I love DRG and I love Bullet Heavens

I honestly wanna see a deep rock game about dwarves that don't make it to the drop pod in time but still survive. A whole game where you're stuck on the planet, management can't be bothered to send a pod for you, and you just gotta survive the best you can (potentially finding other abandoned dwarves or something)
That sounds neat. It would be cool to grow your squad of lost dwarves over time and find the gear of dwarves who didn't survive. Maybe there could even be some base-building involved, nothing too permanent or sound, just like a camp where you can store resources, rest, craft, and stuff like that. Not sure if a single idea of mine is anything close to what you were picturing, but now I'm invested in the idea nonetheless.
I literally had a debate in my head on why people would play a game where the game basically plays itself, but I know the answer now! It’s just an advanced version of pac man! Just had a brain blast about it lol, I get it now! Been debating that since vampire survivors.
I agree I want this on my phone. I would buy it. I think the tactic is to make a lot of narrow corridors by mining to kill easier. Also, the corridors are the easy way out, first thing: mine.
