This older music of Jack's is so incredible. I love all his stuff across the board, but these older pieces, Gulf, I Know, We Grew Up So Well, are so pure and inspired.

I am torn, I love what you and Nataly do with Pomplamoose so very much, but these solo works are so stunning... I guess all I can say is, keep making music, and sharing it with us!
I like watching your older videos too. It just shows how incredibly far you ave come as a musician, videographer, composer, etc. It also shows how much dedication you have had since the beginning. I can see it in every video how dedicated you are, and it's inspiring!

i definitely think of that target chord as a B Maj that oscillates with the electric guitar between a Maj7 and a dominant 7. that said, the only melody note that doesn't "fit" is that G, which I think i just hear it as a flat 6 in the melody - the thing is, the flat 6 would suggest that the chord will land on a B minor instead of major, but it doesn't. so i guess i don't know. i think it was just one of those things that sounded good and i didn't think about it too much while writing it.

Musical Mastermind...I'm still hearing the songs...and i mean...I can't believe the musical blend...(On a side note love what you did playing the electric bass like a Cello, Flawless)
What you might be hearing are metal brushes on a his cymbal. He shows the first use of the brushes at 0:06, the first use of a tambourine at 0:30 and the first use of sleigh bells and tambourine at 1:23. The brushes tend to sound metallic like bells or a tambourine would, so I can understand how you would have heard that. ;-) Hope that was helpful. =P

Yes he plays the the tambourine and it shows it several times but not quite the pattern that I hear playing at the beginning of the song. There are at least 3 layers of purcussion jingles and not all are playing the same pattern. What I don't see Jack playing the the initial jingle sound that starts at 0:03 sounds more like sleigh bells.
everyone speaks about radiohead... of course you can see a lot of influence, but i think that with time and throughout all the different videosongs you can see how there is a unique style to the music (and video, which is a great part of the song)... as well, is nice to see how audiovisual production and postproduction has improved as time has passed since the first videosong... very nice song, that reverb on the vocals take you to another place...

I am not sure how he's doing it but if you film yourself playing the same drum line 3 times with a slightly different camera angle each time, you end up with three pieces of footage where the actions are more-or-less in sync with each other. Then you can rapidly cut from one shot to another, giving you a similar effect.
