- Google HR contacted me regarding my concerning videos... I had been putting out some crazy content back then and it was bound to catch up to me. Here is the story of that one time Google HR reached out to talk about my videos. :)

Employees are simply “resources” for the company. HR’s job is to manage those resources. So they are definitely not looking out for your best interests other than wanting to maximize use of you as a “resource.”

Its great to call out things even when they are not the worst you have imagined.
Having said that, I still feel that you work at a place where you can shit about your company publicly on their own platform and still kinda get away with it.
Whereas many of us can't even raise trivial concerns about manager pinging on late evenings or weekends without having repercussions. Or not being able to take casual leaves even if we have saved them. A tale of two worlds I guess :(

@Devarsh Shah Boyalgo said he was contacted through his company email. Unless the Boyalgo channel is registered to the company email (which would be super weird), there should be no link between them (making the far-fetched assumption that HR would even have access to this data).
Judging by the comments on some of Boyalgo's videos, a number of Google employees have come across Boyalgo's channel. Maybe once a manager stumbled across one of the videos, they contacted people from the department Boyalgo works in (which I believe he mentioned) to see if anyone knows who it is.

Tell them that you're doing a service for the company by telling people how it really is, so only real serious and talented engineers apply. And then ask for a raise.
