Thank God! Finally an in depth review of the new Ranger/Everest. I've been hunting every single other PH review for months now trying to learn about the new stop and go adaptive cruise, lane centering, and adaptive headlights. I was nervous that PH wouldn't get those options and am relieved that we will!
I drive back and forth from Baguio to BGC several times per month and find these driver assistances very helpful on the open highways and twisty roads.
Thank you for covering these unlike literally every other reviewer who probably isn't even familiar with these technologies.
Selling my 2021 Fortuner Limited now for one of these new Everest models.
(Fortuner has no sunroof, no ventilated seats, no dual climate control, and the cheapest stereo headunit from JBL that I've seen since 1995)
What Everest did you get and how is it so far?
@@escargotiskuhol I have FIVE 10K deposits at various different ford dealerships thought-out luzon, but none have available stocks of the 4x4 Platinum variant yet. So I'm still waiting, impatiently. Ha!

I travel to baguio from manila all the time. I'm very impressed with the adas system. So convenient driving in the freeway. Less tiring. And I can eat my corn on cob And tupig without holding the steering wheel 😂😂😂

The outboard rear shocks add to road stability but subjects them to more road debris coming of the tires and you do loose some of your articulation unless you put aftermarket shocks with external reservoirs. Dodge is having major problems with their e-break engaging during driving as water gets in and shorts the electronics. I would like to see the twin turbo version in all varients as the addition torque is needed for the base model ranger 4x4 for farm and work use . It also gets a bit better gas mileage as it doesn't have to work as hard to get the job done.

This truck has impressive handling and performance. And many creature comforts im happy. The ride feels similar to my 2016 high end titanium everest which is amazing since the ranger is a leaf rear spring. It doesnt feel like a jumpy pick up.

i've noticed on my ranger that my pre-collision assist and autonomous braking were not sensitive during the first couple of days of driving. but as i went to accumulate kilometers, it has sort of "adapted". now even if a motorcycle passes on the side it will trigger the alarm. and slammed the brakes once.
Getting this one over the raptor since i need hauling capacity.

Which of the two have better and reliable tech (lane keep and adap cruise)? Torn between wildtrak and xv!
Among the vehicles that I've driven, the newer Subarus with eyesight 4.0 have the best driver assist technology. The current XV though uses an older version of eyesight which has a narrower front field of view. The Ranger's follow technology is a bit better on curvy roads.

Yes it does. All the 4x4 variants of the ranger, even the base xl 4x4 variant come with a rear differential lock

We only get the new shifter on the top of the line Everest. It's necessary for the automatic parking feature which the Ranger Wildtrak doesn't have

There was a recall for a small batch of Ranger and Everest models from 2019-2020. That had something to do with the transmission fluid pump gears. If there's a recall that means that the problem has already been identified and a solution for it has already been found, otherwise the recall would be pointless.
So that particular issue should have already been solved. There are also a couple of updates for the current generation, including an updated torque converter and I believe the shifting points have been remapped.
Whether the updated transmission will have issues in the future, that's something that I can't answer but the past problems of the transmission should have already been addressed.

Depends on the driver, if the driver is reliable then the car will automatically become reliable
its how you use it. ford f150 in usa is number 1 since 70s. americans abuse their trucks. go check it out
UK standard Wildtrak does not get matrix headlamps or surround cameras as standard but it does get either the bi-turbo or V6 diesel. It really should get surround cameras and the Power Pack options with wireless phone charging, the switch bank and wiring plus a 240V inverter as standard and may do at some future date.
Very different to the featured vehicle, in the UK we do get standard 4A mode which is a full time 4wd mode controlled through the computer system, which means that it can be driven in 4wd on high grit surfaces such as roads. We also get the electronic transmission shift lever, which really is rather good. Lane keep assist is on by default as is the start/stop but adaptive cruise also activates a very good steering assist system that is as good as fitted to my Kia Sorento and better than my previous Volvo XC90.
The UK and European Rangers are built in South Africa.
In Trinidad the Wildtrak sounds similar except we don't get the e shifter, no self parking either which the old model came with. Does the automatic 4wd come with the 2.0 biturbo model?
@@marcjohn7416 Self parking comes with another option pack, so not standard. The e-shifter and auto 4wd are standard on all ten speed autos here and that is standard on all variants above the XLT or whatever it’s called. The two more basic models get a single turbo and the older type shifter.
@@hedydd2 thank you. None of our models have auto 4wd. Only the Wildtrak here comes with the biturbo and ten speed. What makes it worse is that the old Wildtrak here came standard with tray cover and self parking
@@marcjohn7416 One thing I notice is that the keyless entry works on the truck in the video. In the UK this has been disabled on all new Rangers sold this year, because apparently the keys can be scanned from outside the house and the car unlocked and stolen. Ford say that they will either modify or replace current keys with ones that go to sleep after ten minutes without moving, so they cannot be remotely scanned by thieves. I bought a Ranger from a dealer’s unsold stock order and they had ordered them all the same apart from paint colour, so I’ve landed with expensive 20” wheels and electric roller cover. Much of the spec that people think is standard is actually part of commonly ordered option packs. I wish my dealer had ordered the perfectly good standard 18” wheels but added the tow pack that had surround cameras [and auto parking I think] plus the very reasonably priced Power Pack which includes wireless charging, the 240V inverter and wiring plus the auxiliary switches and wiring for those. I would still save £250 and had something that I currently do not. Wheels are wheels after all!
Jaywalkur, Please take my advice. You are reviewing a pick-up, show it's purpose, load at least 500 kgs. In that manner, you will be doing justice to its intended use, Not only its new features. Running it unloaded is not convincing enough for me to buy it. Request the showroom or owner to have it loaded
