    hi Alan, thanks for the content. I'm curious, what kind of knots do you use? I've been using the Halim knots from Malaysia but I'm interested in trying different kinds of knots

      I kinda do the same but reversed, his tail goesinto the frame where mine lies against the frame. I did a video with AK Badminton & Tennis called "The Gudegon Knot"
      Thanks for watching!

      @@TheJabroniStringer do you think there are any specific advantages/disadvantages of these 2 knots?

      @@danielhuang4755 I personally think it is the best knot I have ever used, probabbly been using for over or close to 14 years. To me I like the tail flush against the frame, to me it looks cleaner, more nice. Cannot think of any disadvantages to this knot, but it is compact and bulky enough not to slip into the grommet.

      @@TheJabroniStringer sounds good, I gotta try it sometime then. and is your starting knot the same too?

      @@danielhuang4755 I don't use a starting knot. I clamp the far end of cross #10 and pull cross 9, add 10% for my knot and tie. I pull cross #10 and then change clamps 10 to 9 and 9 to 10, this ensures there is no tension being pulled on my knot. When I pull cross #11 I release both clamps to try and get extra slack out. This way I don't use a starting knot, all of my knots are technically finishing knots.

    Hi Alan, for the cross starting, may I know why would you do pulling one string first, clamp the string and tight the knot, instead of tying the knot first then only start pulling for the cross?

    • @TheJabroniStringer
      @TheJabroniStringer  4 місяці тому

      @@yhj536 when you knot and pull tension on your knot, you could pull too hard and break the knot. Under 26 pounds might not be something to worry about but a little dangerous if you try to pull 35 pounds on your knot. Almost, probably all professional tennis stringers use a starting clamp on their cross and then tie a finishing knot, never use a starting knot. I try to implement different techniques to my stringing, trying to use my professional tennis stringing and professional badminton stringing techniques.

    Hello Alan I am an intermediate player can you plz recommend me a string and tension. This is the first time I am getting a racquet string. Plz do reply

      Best to ask a coach, I am a stringer who does what people ask me to do. If you want more power go with a thinner string, durability go with a thicker string. More control go tighter, power looser. Look at your recommended tension on the racket and start in the middle, then go from there. The most popular string I deal with is BG66 Ultimax, maybe BG80 might be the most popular worldwide. Usually intermediate players have played and have strung their rackets many times. Good luck finding a coach!! They can also help with your game, and give advice on what you need to improve your game.
