Read 1 Corinthians 13 in the KJV.
    Where is the love?
I know, you won't have an answer. But, did you notice?
There is no love in the KJV version. All the other version are talking about giving. It's charity. If you give to Goodwill stores, or the Salvation Army, you are giving charity.
    No mention of love.

When we notice differences between translations, it is a good practice to compare with even more translations. When most translations (especially modern ones) start to come into agreement, that is a good indication for a reliable translation of the original language. Let's also keep in mind that our English language changes over time, and so older translations (like the KJV) are subject to misunderstandings due to our shifting usage of words. Beyond that, it is important to remember that the original languages is where the meaning lies, not in our English translations.
In the case of the word translated as 'love' or 'charity', the Greek word is agapē. As every Greek language dictionary that I am aware of will indicate, it is one of the Greek words for love. In fact, in the Septuagint (Greek translation of the Old Testament, from the 2nd century BC), they used agapē for the Hebrew word describing the love of God. For this reason, I believe that the modern translations can be trusted in this case. But, the KJV's usage of charity does remind us that Paul is not referring to merely an inner emotional love, but one that is selfless and seeks the best interests of others over oneself.
      I hope that helps. Blessings!
