    Okay, so you know Ray Romano. To his left is Mark Maron. He's an actor and comedian. The most recent thing he did was a movie called Glow about female wrestlers. He also has one of the most popular podcasts on the internet called WTF with Mark Maron. He's a very funny and insightful guy. I have no idea who the guy is to Mark's left. Then in the jacket and green shirt is Gary Shandling, American actor and comedian known for The Larry Sanders Show. To his left is Judd Apatow who is responsible for discovering people like Seth Rogan. He wrote/produced a lot of Seth's movies like Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin.

      The one you're not familiar with is Paul Provenza. He's pretty much of the same era and the same crowd, and starred in a couple of sitcoms, some of which were reasonably successful, but none of which really took off. He's also the host of this show.

    • @godzillaeyes

      Glow was a series, not a movie, and a lot of people really loved it. Sad it got cancelled. I think he's been in a couple other things since then, but only minor roles. I always loved Marc's podcast, and he's the reason I was watching this episode when it first came out, and that's the first time I ever saw Bo...his rendition of Art is Dead made me an instant fan.

    Hey Alice, I’ve just been through the whole Bo Burnham experience and I love all of your reactions! Your faces and your laugh and your little jokes, absolutely gold 👌 I love how you kept your reactions simple and genuine, I feel like too often reactors try to over analyze and nitpick but you kept your feedback specific and focused. Thank you for these reactions and thank you for spreading Bo’s genius amongst your followers.

    Hey Alice, love your channel!
    I think you would really enjoy the full episode of the Green Room with Paul Provenza (season 2 episode 1) featuring Bo Burnham and those other comedy legends. He came in as a young buck, performed his song "Art Is Dead" and that basically drove the discussion of the entire 30 minute show.
    It also gives some interesting insight as to how Bo took the discussion and advice from those guys to heart in his later years.
    The "ironic detachment" mentioned in that show is the same detachment that he struggles with

    You say "valid joke" about his 'who are you', but it's not because those are unknown people, it's such a funny joke precisely *because* those are some of the most famous and popular comedians at the time this came out. You have to have watched his Art is Dead performance even if you couldn't post it. It was the first time I ever heard/heard of him, and it changed my life.

    The greenroom video you watched skipped the best part, he performed "art is dead" for them, a song about the unrelenting narcissism, self-indulgence and greed that fuels the comedian. In front of a crowd of veteran comedians who ramble on about eastern philosophy and the importance of comedy and so on. It's magical, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

    Supercalifragilisticexpialadocious video Alice as always. Not gonna lie a part of me will miss those headphone tanglations but viewers such as I will keep the cord struggle going for you regardless haha. No worries about not uploading last week you gave us alot the week before so you deserve to have fun and take a break I just hope your hangover wasn't so bad. I think alot of your audience missed Bo as well but most importantly we all missed your reactions to him luckily there is even more of his content that he has released recently to react to if you desire to keep badda binging and badda Bo-ing along with that journey then "The Chicken" is always a good recommendation of his newer songs. However, if additional musical comedic content is desired outside the realm of Bo a comedy duo by the name of Tenacious D is also a great expierence to react to. Something out of left field that is an oldie but a goodie that will put you on your arse is a flash video from the early noughties called "End of Ze World." Regardless what comes next in the wonderful world of Gingerland I can't wait to meet you down the rabbit hole next week.

  • @abbenylund
    @abbenylund Рік тому +2

    I'm not actually sure he got bullied in school
    It's quite likely, but with what he said during this it's also very possible that he didn't write those songs based on experience but rather, possibly, observation, for instance maybe a classmate of his got bullied, or maybe he even bullied someone himself (bullying is inherently bad, but a bully is not necessarily a bad person, a bully could be a normal person that doesn't understand that their "jokes" are going too far, or someone who just had a bad day and made mistakes because of it. Obviously if this is the case he would've regretted it immensely, since we know he's not a bad person.)
    I think learning from such an experience would be more insightful to him than getting bullied would. Just a dumb theory though.

    • @peterlewis2178
      @peterlewis2178 Рік тому

      I don't know, to me for someone to be a bully they have to be intending some sort of unkindness. Just jokes being taken the wrong way doesn't make someone a bully, it just makes them potentially insensitive or ignorant. That's not to say that bullies can't be good people as they grow up, or even be good people in many aspects. But I definitely think it's extremely unlikely that Bo ever would have bullied anyone. The only time I've seen that comes close was when he told a heckler to kill himself, but he's said that he acts very differently on stage than in real life, and I don't think he would have done that in real life. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm just making the best educated guess I can based off of what I've seen of Bo.
