    Rapidly going from national bestseller to global phenomenon, "The Go-Giver" gained a devoted following in more than 29 languages and with over one MILLION copies sold as of October 2020.
    "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann tells the story of an ambitious young man named Joe who yearns for success. Joe is a true go-getter, though sometimes he feels as if the harder and faster he works, the further away his goals seem to be. And so one day, desperate to land a key sale at the end of a bad quarter, he seeks advice from the enigmatic Pindar, a legendary consultant referred to by his many devotees simply as the Chairman.
    Over the next week, Pindar introduces Joe to a series of highly successful people: a restaurateur, a CEO, a financial adviser, a real estate broker, and the "Connector," who brought them all together. Pindar's friends share with Joe the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success and teach him how to open himself up to the power of giving.
    Joe learns that changing his focus from getting to giving-putting others' interests first and continually adding value to their lives-ultimately leads to unexpected returns.
    If you want to connect with a worldwide community of individuals who live their lives and conduct their businesses… The Go-Giver Way, we invite you to join The Go-Giver Movement!

      These laws don't always lead to good results.. I practised this from around 2016 till 2019 and I lost a lot of money, time, and I ended up doing things that I was basically uncomfortable with.. There are many scenarios where the laws of this book can lead to good results and it can also lead to lots of problems like making a person a victim of people trying to take advantage of others..

    • @BobBurg
      @BobBurg  4 роки тому +3

      @@aditya6201 Hello Aditya, while I'm sorry to hear about your situation, please understand that there is absolutely nothing about being a "Go-Giver" that is congruent with allowing yourself to be a victim, a doormat, a martyr, or otherwise be taken advantage of. My suggestion is that perhaps you interpreted these principles in a way that was counterproductive. I hope you'll consider that and perhaps look back at what you did or how you interpreted these principles. Thank you.

    The concepts explained in this book should be mandatory reading in all the schools in the country. They apply to business but also in all that we do in our personal lives. If we all started to give and to cooperate, to collaborate extensively, and to put the others before us, all would change for the good. I would encourage everyone to give these theories a try and get back to the authors of the book with sensitive evidence of the results. Thank you, Bob!!!

    So today is a day of kindness, forgiveness and self-examination in my country (also known as Yom Kipur).
    I had a feeling I needed to read this book today. And what can I tell you, I just swallow it in one bite!
    Loved the whole story, and I truly believe in what it stands for. For the last few years, I've had people asking me about my luck. And frankly, it's the giving that made me the lucky person I am today. And you gave it the most precised and beautiful, yet down to earth, definition.

    Bob, I heard you on Self Improvement Daily podcast today. I loved your concept ... I am a firm believer in time spent is more valuable than actual dollars and sense. On the podcast it sounded as if you agree with that. I am unable to find that podcast anywhere shareable, if all parties receiving are not apple users. My gf works 104 hrs a week with very little time for herself,her kids , me or us.... All this to be just even after all that effort. I do what I can to make her smile and make her feel life is worth living. But that’s an incredible amount of effort , with not much personal gratification. My efforts and miserly 40hr work week (to her) do not measure up. Is ur book anything like what I heard from you Self Improvement Daily today? Then I will definitely get it for her.

    Bob, this might be the one for my therapist, but I'm sure you've heard this before... I love the book and this principle, but I'm struggling with feeling "safe" when applying it. I think I've been conditioned to think that by doing "stuff" for free for other people I may be taken advantage of, I'm undervaluing myself, which in turn means that I'm not worthy, not enough. I feel like my ego wants to protects myself with high prices for my services, but my heart would like to give.

    • @BobBurg
      @BobBurg  11 місяців тому +2

      Hi June, thank you for your question. Please know that operating as a "Go-Giver" is not about giving your products/services away for free, and it's certainly not about being taken advantage of. It's simply about understanding that focusing on brining immense value to others (and there are many ways to do this in the course of building a business relationship) is both very fulfilling as well as very financially profitable. If you noticed in the video, the accountant charged a very healthy and profitable fee. And you probably noticed that all of the mentors in the story are very prosperous. Go-Givers tend to actually charge at the higher end of the scale because their focus is on the immensely high value they provide rather than on low price. There are many ways to give that not only do not harm you, but instead serve everyone involved. I hope this helps. Thank you again.

    this still sounds like a sales tactic.& what if youre not an agressive person& dont really want to be in the obvioys way of pushy sales😕

    • @BobBurg
      @BobBurg  6 років тому +2

      Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to comment, and for your question. Sounds like you really want to sell the right way. In answer to your concern, there's nothing about selling that requires one to be aggressive or pushy. Actually, just the opposite. Selling, by definition, is simply 'discovering what the other person needs, wants, or desires...and helping them to get it." When you ask questions (with serving them in mind) you'll more easily discover the answers that will correctly guide the process. And, only when you have discovered those answers are you in a position to match the benefits of your product or service with what *they* are looking to accomplish. As you can see, nothing about that should ever be aggressive or pushy. Actually, aggressiveness and pushiness in the sales process will most likely turn the other person right off to you. So, be yourself, my friend. Sounds like you have the heart of service. So go out there and through focusing on providing value to others, touch lots of lives with exceptional value. I wish you much success!

      I like your explanation. That is helpful to me. "discovering what the other person needs,wants or desires & helping them to get it". The book addresses that so smoothly & what plays out is truly inspiring. Many thanks.

      What if someone is a good seller and better yet a great closer, Confident successful still feels like this idea is some kind of gimmick or pyramid sale. What if that person is curious about what is being presented. Of course everyone wants more money but more importantly time with whom you love is more important. Putting others needs before yours doesn't make you good a selling in my opinion a good salesperson understands what another person wants to achieve.
      Just saying.

    Is this a pyramid scheme? Are you recruiting people to sell a curriculum? Is this linked to Amway? I was a little skeptical when someone I knew handed me this book and told me they had a mentor who would love to grab coffee with me. I’ve read similar stories of people getting sucked into something that sounds great and has great info but actually gets you nowhere because you make money by recruiting other people. Just a curious human.

      Hi, thank you for your question. No, to paraphrase Freud (though I'm not really sure he actually said the quote being paraphrased), "sometimes a book is just a book." In other words, it's not part of or associated with any type of business, direct sales or otherwise, aside, of course, from the respective businesses owned by the coauthors. From what we understand many different companies in many different fields utilize the book as an educational tool for their employees, sales teams, and customers (for which the coauthors are both honored and grateful) but there is no formal tie-in with any companies.

      I am glad that i read a good book but as @bob burg mentioned it was used by a recruiter related to network marketing to build entrepreneurs, i dont know how true its actually works but after reading the book i felt its worth a try.Eager to read more books related to finance.please suggest if u have anything on mind.
