    Where are you getting a vector with an x-coordinate of negative root 3?
    You just got done showing us that the component form of v was , not negative root 3

      i think hes showing that the angle theta inside the triangle must =30, since the angle around the vectors =150 degrees. and 180-150 = 30. so by using -root 3, hesw proving that the angle to the vector in the opposite direction is 150 degrees, then the angle theta must be 30 degrees
