- An incredible profusion and diversity of marine life on a single wreck. The density of fish and soft corals alike are simply outstanding, mind-boggling. Not only can this stunning dive fulfill any diver's fantasy but it would also be the ideal representation of what a perfect dive truly is should it be revealed to non divers. The S.S. Yongala is said to be one of the best dives in the world , it is the understatement of the century !
Video shot with Sony Ax 100 , Gates housings and Keldan lights

Спасибо большое за интересное вида, желаю вам всего самого наилучшего.
Very kind of you to say so , thank you very much
Wow thats a fishsoup! So many individuals and different species in such a density you can find rarely around the world...
Thanks a lot for watching and for your comment Stonefish13.
I totally agree with you. I have never seen so much life on a wreck, neither before nor after.
The wreck was covered in schools of colorful fish of all sizes ( e.g the grouper was just huge).I was pissed off at first when we were told that entering the wreck was prohibited but when i realised the sheer number of fish while descending , i knew it was gonna be a spectacular dive nonetheless...and it was !
Stunning dive spot indeed , one of a kind !
Amazing ! Congratulations !
Very kind of you , thank you 🙏
Absolutely stunning! It’s definitely on my bucket list
Thank you very much Ron , very kind of you . Oh yes , it should be on your bucket list . The marine life on the wreck is just incredible , the richest i have ever seen on a wreck . It is not for the faint hearted though as the ride can be quite rough. Almost half of the participants turned green that day 🤣. Another positive aspect is that it is not a crowded spot , so excellent experience .
Ce nouveau film est magnifique, quel spectacle ! merci Yann.
Merci Patrick pour ce très gentil commentaire de votre part . C'est un site incroyable de richesse en effet !
A day with a new video from you is always a day to cherish. Many thanks. Great job! As always.
Hello Bubffm . You have a heart of gold . Much obliged , that really means a lot !
Another lovely video, thanks for sharing. Love these living wrecks but not dived there. Beautiful images again.
Hello Michael , i just came back from the P29 wreck ( bad viz today) . Thank you again for your great comments. The Yongala is truly an amazing wreck , not exactly for the structure itself but for the incredible life on it . Rough ride but worth it . Thanks Michael
Hi Michael , i came acroos this link today : www.nationalgeographic.org/projects/pristine-seas/ .Real nice , it thought it might be of interest . Cheers
@@UnderwaterJourney thanks so much for sharing Yann. What a great site. There is loads of information there but I couldn't resist opening up my laptop to see on a big screen and looking at each of the places around the globe. The videos and still shots as expected from National Geographic are just incredible . Some of the places I have never heard of but they have wonderful underwater life. What great work they have done and continue to do with the marine reserves and protected areas. Thank you.
@@michaelmuir4548 My pleasure Michael . Take care !
Yeah~! Yongala is real one! I love this :)
Thank you very much for watching . Yongala is an awesome wreck indeed
Very well presented.
Thank you very much Milton
Excellent editing, the music on point does not interfere and the volume is nice, the camera angles are fabulous, I did not know that there was that wreck, the S.S Yongala, good job!
Thank you once more for your kind comments and for giving a detailed analysis of the video. Very useful for me . Thanks
Going there in three days! Looking immensely forward to it :) !
Hi Jacob , i can easily understand why you are looking forward to it , I wish I could go back there myself . Thanks for watching and enjoy yourself on the Yongala .
Absolutely wonderful !!! I heard about this wreck... You had great time there... what a explosion of life!!! Congrats for another fenomenal video... very well captured! Is always a pleasure watch your videos! Looking forward for the next one ;)
Hello Underwater Marvels . My sincere appreciation for your kind words . It is indeed an incredible dive spot in the middle of nowhere . What is said about this site is true , the density of life is amazing . Thanks again .
❤️ it.
Beautiful dive site, perfect video. Was this filmed recently ?
Hi Radek , Thank you very much , yes it is a fantastic dive which I did a bit over a month ago . Cheers !
Yann Faure
Hi Yann, great to see such lively site .Last time we emailed i was considering trip to Philippines but we decided to visit Komodo instead. Beautiful place as well. I made short video, have a look if you like. Cheers! ua-cam.com/video/yhM3cym6ffE/v-deo.html
Yongala is such a beautiful wreck and looks like you got so lucky with the currents too
Agreed ! One of the most amazing wrecks in the world . The currents were actually mild on that day compared to the ones i had experienced on Wolf's rock a few days before. Two dives were unfortunately not enough to fully explore this fantastic wreck and its area. Would love so much to dive it again .Thanks for watching ! 😀
@@UnderwaterJourney Oh yeah. We only did two dives on the wreck but had wicked currents on it and most o the divers bailed on the dives.
Was worth it when got down
@@BlueHorizonDiving Currrents were ok but the ride was rough , 5 ouf 11 divers were sick in between dives or on the way back. This dive is not for the faint hearted.
@@UnderwaterJourney not at all!
Beautiful video... the geek in me would love to know what it was shot with..??
Thank you so much for watching . The geek in you deserves an answer 😂 . Sony AX 100 + Gates housing and Keldan lights.
Wonderful footage, a bit overly dramatic and distracting music choice imo
Thanks a lot for watching Bill , i appreciate your comment and your straightforwardness ! I guess i got carried away because the story of this wreck is truly dramatic but i might have overdone it , you're right . Thanks again
Thanks for uploading. Yes, the Yongala is a very dramatic and tragic story.
