I think people really don't understand how far CFB has changed with portals and money. It is almost a pro league with unlimited free agency. Keeping your coaching staff seems more important to me than which league you play in. Look at UW last year in title game this year complete different team and looked lost. Schools need to invest in your coaching staff if you got a good one you can win anywhere. WSU has found a great one and need to sure them all up not just HC for long term. And they have started that with raising money from supporters and sponsors. If Utah wins and has a good season other teams will poach your staff n players. I think eventually NCAA will have to implement some rules on this matter. Could be anything from NIL cap (like a NFL cap) to how many transfers a student can make during their college career.

Why don't we wait for the PAC 12 to get a media deal before we discuss the prospect of anyone leaving the Big 12 for another conference? Besides, there is more to a media rights deal as a revenue source to be evaluated. Right now, Brett Yormark is continuing to look for additional revenue sources for the member schools than just media rights.
Hopefully the automatic bids for the top 5 conference champions will stop any super conferences and if anything cause a redistribution.
