I have just used my microfleur for the first time , I’ve had it a few weeks. I’ve dried a few flowers in Portugal and I am really happy with the results. I dried a lot of flowers earlier this year in the traditional way of leaving them to dry out and pressing in paper but the flowers lost their colour the microfleur keeps the colour. Hi Em. I have a Microfleur and have enjoyed using it. I have learned by trial and error with it. There is one flower particular I use it for in the spring, that is the Texas blue bonnet, which is a lupin. I start them with the Microfleur to about 1/3 done then finish them the traditional way. They have turned out much nicer and with better color with this method. It may work for other lupins as well but I haven’t tried it yet. Charlotte
Thank you for this video, and I have some questions: Should you wait for the flower and paper liner to cool down before you move them to the final pressing zone, or Ok to do that while it's warm and damp? What do you think of the instructions where it says to dampen the felt before first use or when it's been in storage? And where would be a good place to store it? I was thinking to put it in the airing cupboard so the wool can dry throughly between uses.
Hi, I do wait for the flower and paper liner to cool down before moving them to the pressing books. As far a dampening the felt, I have never done that. Seems a little counter productive to me to add moisture when the goal is to get moisture out. But if others have done this with success, give it a try both ways and see what you prefer.
