I like any interview that Dame does because it never feels like he’s trying to be politically correct. He’s just straightforward and honest and he’s with you.

This is exactly why The Knuckleheads. All the Smoke, Gil's Arena, etcetera, are needed! Damien Lillard is a true Professional and speaks clearly about his value system consistently. Awesome bubble stories. I hope we the hoopers will someday also give kudos to the staff who made that whole ish possible. Not only were players separated from their families, but you have to imagine how difficult it was for all the ppl behind the scenes building the courts, clinics, safety measures, etc. real champs there
Looking back at that time, the Lakers really had the best squad in the bubble. Lebron,AD,Rondo,Dwight,KCP,Caruso,Kuzma,McGee. I dont understand why they blew up it next year.
Knuckleheads was one of the first to do it and still dropping good interviews..Nash got that work, went to the sideline, made a pillow and went to sleep
YA'll killing it with guests again this year! If you can't learn from Dame, you not listening. I'd love to hear him talk ball...the details of angles, speed changes, and shooting.
11:35 Dame has a great point here, players like Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray were so elite in the bubble and it prob has a lot to do with being extremely sharp because of the isolation
I’m glad Dame said an asterisk for the bubble year is BS. When the bubble started I told friends it was going to be best championship because everyone inside was focused on their craft with no outside distractions. As former military my most memorable times were deployments to our “bubble”. Nobody ever says “combat deployments don’t count because you didn’t have to worry about home, family TDY travel, etc.” When you’re on deployment for 45-359 days you were with your team all the time (chow, gym, ‘practice’, ‘game day’, ‘off-day’, etc.). So come ‘game-day’ when you suited up at the squadron you just felt everyone was on point as opposed to being back home where some days Joe might be half-assing because he’s going thru divorce, Bob’s is not sharp because he was at hospital all-night when son’s collarbone got broken at football practice an so-on. And even more reason why NBA bubble was sharpest player competition is because unlike deployments, the bubble players got to observe their “enemy’s” pattern of life, tendencies and in-game play along with having the same refs everyday so it was literally skill-vs-skill and strategy-vs-strategy.
Man the days of FOBs still lets me know anything is possible when you locked in with your crew or 4 or 12 when it’s go time it’s super sharp when you locked in
I met Dame last year at my job in Chicago at Saks Fifth he was in town for the draft lottery, bro one of the realist niggas you goint meet I talked wit him and everything bro had no security wit him either
I won't lie ... the way he's describing the quality of play in the Bubble ... I really wouldn't mind if they restricted the playoffs to a bubble tournament. Just the playoffs - not the finals.
The reason why haters are discrediting the bubble championship is that Lebron won it. but real players knew how fun and competitive the game was. Clips blew a 3-1 lead; Heat Upsets bucks. Haters are going to hate whatever you do.
No lol no matter who won itd be questionable. But because kobe died, and lakers/nba did everything in power to remind us every 5 seconds through lebron mimicing kobes mannerisms or sayings every win and then acting as if it was the hardest
Another sensitive player stan trying to rewrite the narrative to protect their boyfriend. People were complaining about the Bubble before it even started. No crowd, no home and away travel, a long break before it started which allowed players to get way more rest and recuperation than normal. Stop getting so emotionally invested in defending players that it makes you invent a persecution complex.
Exactly. We all know why people are trying to discredit it. All the teams had to go through the same stuff so it's obviously some hating going on if you're saying it doesn't count.
Eddie Jones especially. We haven't seen or heard from that dude since he retired. We never even heard from him when Kobe died considering he was one of the key figures in Kobe's early career.
Funny how that top 75 discussion didn't involve LeBron but all about MJ. The top heads not looking at Lebron like that even with his stats they still aren't focusing on him while LeBron will likely be considered A great I don’t see the “All time” part. #Jordan 1s!!!!
Miss this on the blazers. He was definitely a Icon for the blazers I still don’t understand why the front office didn’t want continue building around him
I love me some Dame, too. It would be interesting if we stayed in the five spot in the draft. If Scoot was off the table and we got say, Amen instead, things might be different. I truly believe the universe dictated the Blazer's next chapter. Honestly, I don't think we could have assembled a team in two or three years that could compete with Denver, Phoenix, Boston..and ironically Milwaukee. In the end, I love that Dame has a chance with the Buc's to win a chip. Hard to find someone more deserving.
