Worth mentioning that while the Westman Atelier Foundation has a higher price tag than the Merit, the Merit is actually significantly more expensive per ounce at $292 versus $219 for the Westman Atelier. I’ve never seen a more precious amount of product in a stick foundation than the Merit. For the formulas being pretty similar, I’d go for WA since you get more product.

I bought the Rare beauty tinted moisturizer during the sale and honestly was impressed by the natural healthy appearance on the skin, it wore well and didn’t break down throughout the day. At least 6-7 hours wear. I’m around Shelby’s skin tone but warm and I got 20w and it was a perfect match. Similar to nars tinted moisturizer but my skin likes this better and it doesn’t cling to dry spots

Love these reviews, Shelbey! What impressed me about the Makeup Forever HD Foundation is the undetectability (if that's a word). I literally CANNOT see it on my skin. I will say that I do have texture--not dry flakes, but pores, and this really helps to blur them--It's the first foundation I've worn that I can't really see. The big giveaway that I'm wearing foundation is the uniform tone/color of my skin! Love this foundation and have worn it every day since purchasing (55yo oily skin). I like full coverage but as I age, I want less and that's another great thing about the MF HD! Would LOVE a dupes video for favorite products that were discontinued ;-)
Right? Shellie literally looks like your skin but way better like a perfect canvas of skin. I don't think it supposed to be glowy regardless. I use a brush to apply.
@emi i can't believe the lasting power LITERALLY 10 hours of waitress work. my skin looked just as good when I left in the morrning and I used a wet and wild primer. Need to find a skin tint or tinted moisutrizer that does the same. Best to all the makeup mavens!! 🤩

I’m so glad you reviewed the new It Cosmetics foundation. I really like it but my perfect shade ( in their other foundations) is FAIRLIGHT and it seems a tad dark in this newer formula. 🤷♀️
Thank you for your reviews. I tried three Westman Atelier foundations and could not get a match. I have a light cool skin tone and I have a tough time finding a match. I get a great match in Bobbi Brown stick foundation in Cool Sand. It is not rosy on me and it’s easy and great coverage. I also like the Bobbi Brown concealer stick in the same shade. I have mature skin and I like the stick foundation better than the liquids.
Hey there I too am light cool and I recommend shades N, 0, and .5. All are perfect matches when blended out well and really good skin care. I would also recommend shade N and 1 mixed together they still pull pinkish but add warmth for for the light tone. I have shades N,0,.5,1,2 to suit me throughout the year. While pricey I do recommend getting two shades as Gucci Westman suggests as we do not have the same tones throughout they face. Hope this helps.
Could the fact that the HD foundation has a strong grip be part of the reason the blush applied so heavily? You look great, btw. I don’t think the blush is too much at all.
I’m definitely looking for the most natural glowy tinted moisturizer/BB/CC cream for the summer. I have pretty nice skin so I just love the light radiant look.

Thanks for this video. I’ve been interested in the Rare Beauty and IT Cosmetics foundations both for me (52) and my daughter (22). I have the Makeup Forever HD foundation already and love it on my mature skin w/texture and large pores. It really smooths all of that out. I love it almost as much as the NARS Light Reflecting foundation. I find the Makeup Forever foundation to be a bit more radiant than you describe and I have combo skin. I got my daughter the Rare Beauty foundation in the Sephora sale and I’m interested to hear what she thinks. She’s not really a foundation girl, but she wanted to try one and I thought the IT Cosmetics one would be too heavy for her given their other products. Maybe not based on your review!
The Refy eyebrow gel is my absolute favorite eyebrow gel I’ve ever used. There’s a little bit of learning curve when first getting to know the product. But once you get over that hump, it’s amazing!!!
Oh my goodness same about the blush! It is insanely pigmented! I think it's called 'just a pinch' or something? More like 'just a punch' lol it's so much! I think I have that same shade and it's really pretty but it takes a lot of work because of how pigmented it is.
Rare Beauty was a no for me. Just tried the Shiseido tint via your prior recs video and like it much better. I still prefer good old MAC F&B as well. Better shade matching and formula in both vs the Rare Beauty. RB went on patchy over my dry skin even though I prepped with Bobbi Brown face base. Also I couldn’t get any coverage out of it so I’d rather wear nothing. So needless to say the MUFE didn’t work for my mature skin either. I enjoy their old formulation and am sorry to see it go. Your recs are always 💯 in sync with my preferences and I totally trust your honest, no nonsense opinions. Nice review, the HD won’t be one for me, it does contain alcohol..but the it cosmetics I ordered ..I wish they wouldn’t put alcohol in the foundations..
I got the Rare Beauty TM and found a perfect match, and I love it. I’m sure that the match has a good deal to do with it but that said, the formula is perfect for my normal to dry over 50 skin. Looks like skin!
As a mature woman w/normal to dry skin who luvs a natural look I must admit that the WA foundation stick was my least fav of the line...and I pretty much have them all. I found that it was too matte w/a powdery finish, nothing like the rest of her products which are beautifully natural and glowy. I used to love the orig formula of the MUFE HD but am not now looking for anything w/a matte finish. I also luv the Rare Beauty blushes but DANG u have to be so careful w/them as a tiny bit goes a long way. BTW...eyeshadow and top are gorgeous!

I was so Upset when MUFE discontinued the OG HD liquid foundation. That was my favorite, and best shade match. Fingers crossing they don’t discontinue the stick because I love that one so much too
Hi Shelbey- Fellow Southerner here. It’s allergy season and I have terribly watery eyes. I would love if you could do a makeup tips video with how to do eye makeup for allergies.
The Rare Beauty did not work for me!! I was soo sad. It accentuated my dry spots. I was hoping for a “my skin but better look”. Nope. This did not work on my skin at all. I tried it with a sponge, brush and hands.
I do have the MUFE foundation and I’m still on the fence. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it, some days it’s looks better than others so I’ll still be working with that one. I won’t be getting the new IT foundation because it just seems like it will most definitely transfer and I just get on board with foundation under my nails or on clothes etc. I was super curious about the WA foundation stick since I do have the contour stick and I absolutely love it, I didn’t want to love it because of the price tag. But if the foundation needs numerous touch ups it’s not going to be for me, I’m a one a done sorta gal. I have been using the Koh gen do moisturizing foundation (samples) and I’m in love with it. So that’s one I may be purchasing very soon.
I agree on the Westman Atelier packaging. It’s heavy! And the lip product I tried is almost identical to a Milani lipgloss I have. Couldn’t tell a difference.
I purchased the MUFE and I got the right shade which is great and I do like this foundation. There are so many new foundations it’s hard, but I also got the WA foundation because it seems so great for travel. I did find it interesting that per ounce it is cheaper than the Merit which I purchased for the exact same reason that it would be travel friendly. I like both of these because they are quick and easy to apply and wear well. Loved this review! Thanks 😊
Exactly per ounce the WA is way more affordable than merit. I don’t understand why she didn’t mention that it’s more affordable than Merit. I own the entire collection with the exception of 2 shades of lip gloss. I personally think they are well worth the investment. I’ve also never had any issue with it “melting off” and I never set with powder. I have dry to normal skin too sooooo I don’t get her perspective.

How does the IT nude glow compare with Urban Decay’s hydromaniac? I’m using UD right now for just running errands but I’m going to run out soon and looking to try something similar.
I like the new IT CC Glow foundation formula (definitely not glowy, which I like, just looks natural, and lighter than the original) but I don't like the undertone. I have the shade Fair Light and it looks ashy/grayish on me.
I love Makeup Forever HD foundation! But I always have a problem with my nose - any foundation just slides down in a couple of hours. I do set it with a powder, and I do use a primer (tried different ones!) Any suggestions?

I have used the WA for quite awhile now on my 64 year old dryish skin and I do like it. I found it to blend very easily & has some glow but not a lot. I find that it does not emphasize my wrinkles or pores. The main downfall is that it doesn’t last long at all. 4-5 hours tops. I’m not much for powdering my dry skin so that might help with my staying power issue. I have never tried Merit’s but would be interested to know it’s staying power?
The Westman is better all the way around. Creamier, more hydrating, better for the money, and it’s more affordable. I’m 31 normal to dry and it’s not dry on me and I don’t need to powder
@@micheleb.7573 absolutely not. If anything they are some of my most lasting products. A little goes a long way and they all blend so well together. I can put them all on together at like 8am and by 4-5 in the afternoon the blush and bronzer are still very much there and for my normal skin I don’t have any break through oils or slips.
I just received the Westman Atelier stick in 2. I am so disappointed. It is dry and make-upy… How can it be? Anyone else? Many reviews say it is creamy and natural and even glowy? Do you prepare with oil and glowy creams? And the shade is off. Not golden at all (as described), but peachy, pink undertones.
The MUFE Ultra HD (new) stinks! Literally. The fragrance is strong on that one. I bought it straight from MUFE, and want to return it. It would be at my expense, and UPS doesn't want to ship cosmetics because I (as the shipper) don't have a license or whatever to ship cosmetics. USPS is not an option because the hours they have in my town. I have the same problem with the Lisa Eldridge foundations.
I can barely see any blush. I personally think you look better when u wear Lots of Blush. It shapes your face & helps look youthful. Please just try wearing a lot of blush or just more blush than u normally do. I think it will look great.

The bush looks great on you...I stamp the tip on a painters palette, l lithely pic up with a wet sponge and it works great, not heavy at all.

I love Makeup Forever HD foundation! But I always have a problem with my nose - any foundation just slides down in a couple of hours. I do set it with a powder, and I do use a primer (tried different ones!) Any suggestions?

Which one is more hydrating?? Don't want it to emphasize wrinkles, pores. Want it to sink into skin not sit on top & want it super creamy & easy to blend
I have used the WA for quite awhile now on my 64 year old dryish skin and I do like it. I found it to blend very easily & has some glow but not a lot. I find that it does not emphasize my wrinkles or pores. The main downfall is that it doesn’t last long at all. 4-5 hours tops. I’m not much for powdering my dry skin so that might help with my staying power issue. I have never tried Merit’s but would be interested to know it’s staying power?
The Westman is better all the way around. Creamier, more hydrating, better for the money, and it’s more affordable. I’m 31 normal to dry and it’s not dry on me and I don’t need to powder

@@micheleb.7573 absolutely not. If anything they are some of my most lasting products. A little goes a long way and they all blend so well together. I can put them all on together at like 8am and by 4-5 in the afternoon the blush and bronzer are still very much there and for my normal skin I don’t have any break through oils or slips.
I just received the Westman Atelier stick in 2. I am so disappointed. It is dry and make-upy… How can it be? Anyone else? Many reviews say it is creamy and natural and even glowy? Do you prepare with oil and glowy creams? And the shade is off. Not golden at all (as described), but peachy, pink undertones.

The MUFE Ultra HD (new) stinks! Literally. The fragrance is strong on that one. I bought it straight from MUFE, and want to return it. It would be at my expense, and UPS doesn't want to ship cosmetics because I (as the shipper) don't have a license or whatever to ship cosmetics. USPS is not an option because the hours they have in my town. I have the same problem with the Lisa Eldridge foundations.

I personally think you look better when u wear Lots of Blush. It shapes your face & helps look youthful.
Please just try wearing a lot of blush or just more blush than u normally do. I think it will look great.
