The “flood” video left me speechless..... thanks for posting this amazing “come-back” video. Reassuring to see you are both o.k. Your videos are a work of art.
i just started watching your videos i like them and one of the main reason you make do with what you got around you and what you can afford ni matter where you are that is not an easy live but it is a live full of reward
Thank you for your kind comment. We noticed your account name was Saint Augustine. We used to live in Saint Augustine Florida. Not sure if there’s any relationship we just thought that was funny. Anyways we really appreciate your interaction. Thanks again
Thank you for sharing a little bit of your wonderful life with us the great flood really did a lot of damage I like that you see the silver lining in the devastation in that it cleared out all the debris from the creek. I noticed you limited the commercial content thank you is there a way to make a contribution to your channel I have never felt a worthy cause on UA-cam to contribute to so the process might have to be spelled out for me. Love you guys so happy to see your good.
Thank you so much for such positive feedback! We really appreciate your kind thoughts and words. Just your interest is support enough. Thanks for watching!
Living in flat country it's hard for us to imagine a washout flood like what you had. Good thing that you are built up on really high ground. God bless you guys and family.
Saludos!! thank you for sharing your lovely day. love camping. that fire and camp site was awesome. you are living in heaven. just soy know many blessings.Asta Luego
You guys have figured out the most important part and after seeing your physiques i would have too nic name you tarzan and jane.Good luck guys really enjoyed
I just stumbled on your videos and man!! this instantly brought back memories of my younger life in the 60's and 70's. Same woods, same fire and cooking and same cold dips in the streams. Thanks for the memories!!! Even the washed out driveway, The cabin I used to go to in upstate Pa on almost a weekly basis had a driveway that went through a wash and it looked just like that after bad storms. Good memories, all of them.
My wife and I enjoyed watching yall try out the freezing cold water. Made my teeth rattle all the over in Tennessee. Those Foreman racks are cleverly used...I especially like the saw seaboard!
Yes the racks bring us a lot of value. We found that you could easily put the chainsaw and the axe inside of the racks but then every time you needed them they were buried underneath something else so they were difficult to get out and even more difficult to put back in. So I grabbed up some 1” + 1/8 flat and welded up a rack for the axe and then grabbed up a scrap piece of 2 x 6 and Put it in the vase and sunk my chainsaw into it and then lashed it on with some nylon lashing It took probably three minutes. But is incredibly useful. We also have a chainsaw scabbard lashed on to the front of our tractors brush guard
Those four wheelers are everywhere in rural Australia. I'm used to seeing the dog travel on the rack and only get off when it's time to round up the sheep. Your dog just keeps soldiering on with his tongue hanging out!
A metal ladle?!! If you only knew someone who could carve a nice one out of wood! You all are getting really good at your video edits! Keep up the great work.
Such a beautiful video. Very inspiring. You make it look so easy (and for a couple of your capabilities it is). A just reward in between rebuilding your paradise. Indomitable spirit. 🙂 I'd be happy just to be your dog.
Forget minimalism. The point of camping is not to rough it but to smooth it -- Nessmuk. ✔ Life is tough enough; why should camping be worse? What a beautiful spot to spend the night. Thanks!
since your were in St.Augustine Florida if it was after 1989 that is when I move to Florida our path might of cross specially if you were around construction I am easy to recognize I used to hang drywall by myself they use to call me either Frenchy or the crasy Canadian that hangs drywall by himself as far as relationship i know we are not i am originally from province of Quebec Canada have a wonderful day guys and enjoy life as you best
I was in the construction industry the entire time I was in Saint Augustine. I moved there in 1995 and moved away in 2008. I think I may have run into you before. In the late 90s i framed a few Habitat for Humanity houses down in the Tip of Lincolnville by Saint Augustine marine it was all volunteer work. I think you may have hung the drywall in those houses. I used to do a lot of work for Carolyn Mathis and PJ McDonald. I am not sure if you remember those particular habitat for humanity houses. But I definitely remember the crazy Canadian drywall hanger that was a pretty big guy and always wore suspenders I’m pretty sure. Anyways let us know if you remember any of that thanks again
Admire your ability to look at the bright side! Not all can do this. Maybe ponder the benefits of the occasional, regular floods, and put things in place to direct the water, or put it to work(an overshot wheel for electricity?)
I was thinking about yall when I heard on the radio that you got severe flooding over there. In mountain view we had tornado warnings. No funnel but boy houdy we got some rain! A real frog strangler! Raining cats and dogs? You mean wolves and tigers!!! Glad yall are ok and above water!
Isn't anything quite like a fire started with split up Red Cedar in the evening at a remote campsite along a creek or river. Not many places left you can actually get that particular Ozarks wilderness smell. I don't know how you do all that walking, working, cutting etc in those crocks though. I would have busted my ankle a million times over without good side support on my feet and lower shins.
Mother nature has a way to take care of her self....she doesn't need man's help... floods are part of nature along with wind ...wind keeps.the dead wood from acumulating and floods clear the dead wood out of our creeks.
A little slice of heaven right there. I enjoyed watching, thank you.

You just carved that Path? Nice video..
I think you did the right thing getting into the 10°C water after moving all that stone. Maybe cleared the lactic acid from your muscles.

Have you panned for gold along that crick? There just might some color there. Worth a try.

It was some soup that my lady made and sourdough bread that my sister bakes. and yes it was really good
That's the hachet you said was a good buy in an earlier video?
Curious if you take precautions for black bears that might be in your area?
We do have black bears in the area. And we do have to take precautions. But for the most part our dogs keep them pushed back

Hey has your microphone turned down .. ? I turned my volume up . And it still is weak on audio
Nice video, but cutting logs with a chainsaw wearing crocs… whole new scary right there.
Your tires look a little worn
