      I attempted to try bootcamp to show some friends how to play MvM and it's SWARMING with noobs that all go spy and by max speed upgrade and keeps loosing to wave one. We only made progress as we were three and could compensate for the other players lack of cooperation.

      My tactic in MVM (I can only play Boot Camp, I'd love to play Mann Up just to play competitive MVM but I'm broke) is usually either Sniper (Most of the time) or Spy (When steel gauntlets are in the wave), I actually upgrade the damage on the sniper rifle instead of explosive headshot since I'm accurate enough to kill most of the group before they get out of hand

  • @Velepexon
    @Velepexon 2 роки тому +140

    I do have a few extra stuff to add.
    If anyone thinks that his guidelines aren't sufficient enough, then take note of this: New players should NOT play in the 3 HARDEST Tours of Mann Up. (Mecha Engine, Two Cities, Gear Grinder)
    Hell, it's even worse in Gear Grinder, 'cause the game literally WARNS you on how difficult it is, but I still see newbies in Mannslaughter, making the waves suffering to deal with. (Fun Fact to anyone that doesn't know, Mannslaughter is pretty much the hardest MvM mission because of how much poverty there is, and how the bot composition can destroy you if you're not careful enough. Another reason why Newbies shouldn't go there.)
    By the way, Dewill, about your "Think about a grown man doing that kind of thing,"
    Yeah, um, about that... There is an entire anti-tacobot group that has grown ups being both a bit childish and... cheating.
    I'm not part of that group, and I don't wanna say the name 'cause honestly, it's best to just not give attention, but I think many members of the group are just adults that are very anti-tacobot and are perfectly fine with supporting or using cheats in MvM. I'll mention this in the stream, see ya there.

    • @syntaxerror_08t
      @syntaxerror_08t 2 роки тому +6

      If a low-tour enters a Mannslaughter Mann-Up server, never judge them by their tour count ONLY. There MAY be a chance that low-tour is actually a very good player who did very hard missions like Bone Shaker on a Boot Camp server, OR he listened to the members of that specific Mann-Up server.
      To summarize this, just don't always think low-tours are responsible for a mission fail. And also some Digital Directive missions are as/much harder than Mannslaughter.

    Imagine if it cost money to play competitive in other multiplayer games, like CS:GO, Valorant, Overwatch, or even TF2 (in PvP matchmaking). Would you want someone who is new and skipped the free learning option, which gives relatively good experience, to be ruining your paid match? I believe that if these players were willing to learn and listen on how to do things better, then it's different, but if they just continue making the same mistakes it can be understandable to kick them. Happens just the same in MMOs and competitive games all the time.

    Performance
    Trolling
    Communication
    My performance in MvM is usually decent, and Sentry busters do actually show up when I play engie, though I'm best with scout
    I don't usually upgrade dispenser range, but I stopped playing engine for a while and I do kind of see the point of it now (Though I wish it was cheaper. I may want to support but I'm mainly engineer for the damage output and teleporters for the team...) I don't troll when it's time to be more serious. I usually don't even do the banana tele game, but sometimes I do it once in a while.
    And as for communication, I won't answer in voice chat but I ABSOLUTELY allow criticism. If you're going to be bossy, I in fact even just give up and ask you for your advice (though if the advice isn't solid, I usually go back to what I was doing. I have seen some non-solid advice that I know is going to get my stuff destroyed. That being said, there are some good ones I'll agree to.) I also type in text chat. I have 0 (non-community server) tours.
    Also that "Me-" "DIC!" And "Roger-" "That!" are PERFECT

    The one type of player I truly despise in multiplayer games (including IRL games, not strictly limited to video games) is the one who apparently doesn't want to play but still wastes everyone's time. They're easy to spot: they don't communicate except to throw insults or tell you to shut up, they do blatantly counterproductive or just plain stupid shit all the time (generally stuff that doesn't require any effort on their part) or simply stand there doing nothing like they're not interested at all, and may leave the game out of boredom or frustration at any moment.

    I'm just shy of 30 tours and I'll be the first to admit I was a trash MvM player when I started. I hogged the dispenser, bought the mini sentry upgrade and two way tele the whole nine yards. But then I met a random player, don't remember his name, back long before this last update that blocked us from inspecting other players upgrades. He walked me through what I upgrades I needed and the general order to get them in. Probably the most important thing he taught me was getting at least 2 points into dispenser range at the start and how to position the dispenser at the front lines and work off ammo packs in the back field.

There is a reason to why i just dont agree to just kicking a noob and its because they are never really givin the time to make mistakes, and learn from said mistakes. For example a noob joins the lobby loses a round and is immediately kicked. OR another way it could have been handled would have been to let him/her lose a few times and then after that to try and kindly guide them along the way. I mean if said noob is just toxic about it then i can see why someone would kick them. But just giving guidance would be the best thing you are doing for the MVM community

    When I first played MvM in Boot Camp I found it really cool and fun, co-operating with your team to win. So, since everyone rely on each other to perform well during the mission I didn't play Mann Up until I was experienced enough, trough playing boot camp and watching MvM guides on YT I got myself a really decent idea of the meta and how to perform well to not let my team down. It's annoying knowing that there's people out there that jump into a co-op gamemode without doing at least the minimum amount of research on how to be effective.

      Slow it down and how those flicks go. A human's screen doesn't "snap" onto the head even if it looks like it. But aimbots do that, especially blatant ones. You can spot some aim teleporting without acceleration nor deceleration, happening in a single frame span of time.

If you just don't care enough to learn the game before you play MvM, especially because it's much more team-oriented, and ignore/question other higher-tour players' advice, then it's entirely your fault if you get kicked, because high-tours cannot help those who do not help themselves.

    I wouldn’t straight up vote someone out in MVM (most of my experiences are that new mvm players are okay but questionable). However I do understand that you would kick someone if they don’t coordinate with the team, upgrade shitty things, and generally become a burden.
