Jason hunts his favorite spot for late season mule deer. With numbers down from previous seasons, Jason focuses on trying to take an old buck out of the herd.
I have a mule deer tag I’ve waited five years on. Watching your videos has me in a whole other world. I. Cannot. Wait!!! So excited!! Thank you for giving us all something to chew on while waiting for the main course.
This is my first time watching your vids after listening to your interview on the Altitude show podcast. I really enjoyed the quiet and simple nature of your vids and commentary really brought me into the stalk
“He’s just a weirdo!” That’s something I say with my buddies and they give me crap for it. Great stuff Jason! Keep it up! Your videos are my all time favorites and the music is amazing!
As always, it's a great video. Congratulations on an awesome buck! I've watched a few mulies make scrapes over the years but definitely not like whitetails.
Howdy Jason. This was a great story of your adventure! I like the idea of your hunt for a mature buck who is past his prime. Also, I just love your music that you use from El Wencho. Keep it coming! Thank you Sir. Later on....
I've seen Mule deer scrapes here in Alberta. On the top of high Ridgelines. Seen them follow there circut over the well worn trails on high elevation with scrape
Total class act! Great production and I always come away with such good feelings knowing you did it right. You inspire me to keep going back and trying again. Got a really old broken beam buck mid-morning of the last day of an 11 day season. First deer I'd seen and had the privilege of passing on a younger, wider buck with more points that needed to live another year. Could not have been better, just like yours.
I really love your videos Jason. You seem very authentic and just a down to earth guy. The videos are simple and not over the top . It's like you're telling stories about life . Keep up the good work.
Man every time I watch your videos is like nat geo so fine.. finesse you make me live your hunts..great job and great hunting ethics..always a fan hope to meet you someday..peace and God bless you always
I think you'd think differently if we ever met. I've never been described that way in "real life" by people who've ever shook my hand or I have shared a campfire or cocktails with. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate it! Best of luck out there this fall!

Great hunt and video as always young man was this 2022? Do you have a recent video of your turkey hunting with a bunch of friends?
Awesome video . I was wondering what rifle you are using in this film??
I am using a 300 WIN from Montana Rifle Company
What dose a unit like this take in points
A true Stewart of the land.
That's all we can do is our best each time we are out there...
@@jasonmatzingerofficial I was raised hunting in the mountains of Idaho. This is the way I was taught. Good seeing others doing the same. Great video.

Great buck! I like the “abnormal” antlers.
Agree 100% with your thoughts on a hunting camp.
Good hunting camps are hard to beat!
Great hunt and video as usual. It’s always great to fill a tag but even better when you can share the hunt with others.
You got that right!
Song at the 10 min mark? Please!!

Do you have a gear list used in this video that you could share; rifle manufacture, caliber, bullet selection, scope, pack...etc? Thanks RIch
I don't really have gear lists put together for the hunts. Might not be a bad idea?
Cool buck , tall
Definitely a unique looking buck!

That is correct! This is the Mystery Ranch Pintler.
I wonder what state this is, seems like a good entry level start
Great entry level buck after 30 years of hunting them!
Rough Country?
Yes, it's very rough in a lot of this area. Might be hard to tell on film but there is some crazy deep cuts and coulees all throughout this country.
Sort of an inside Rough Country joke... Looks like a real nice area.
