Using Obenauf's LP, I found it applies best when already wet/melted. Pre-heat the container a bit (indirectly, like near a stove) or point one of your vintage heated hair dryers at the open top to melt some of the product. Or rub your hands, heating them with the friction, and using your warm fingers to melt some of the product. Then apply the product to the leather while wet. It will eventually cool and return to protective waxy solid within the leather fibers and not just on the surface. Applying liberally while it's wet will also allow you to give the leather all it will take so that you can gauge when it's reached proper saturation and move on to another area.
Thanks for dropping these tips! 🥾🥾
i use lp on the boot oil on the edge of my boots. and i have wore them for hiking , fire, and even hiking in snow to cut a christmas tree for many years and they hold up well. on Whites Nicks and Franks both rough out and smooth out as well.
Love it!
Obenaufs LP is a great product. Ive always preheated the leather with a heat gun to open the pours then apply. The only thing i can say you didn't mention is always give the stitching some live as well. Just found this channel and you have a new subscriber. Take care brother.
Good call!!! Thanks for chiming in and taking time to subscribe!
Gotta give our boots some love. I'm watching your video and brushing my boots this morning. Those UL's look rich with that conditioning.
That’s awesome man!! Yeah these things seem to just get better with age! Merry Christmas 🎁 🥾🥾
No idea why my first comment disappeared, so lets try again:
Glad to see you take good care of your boots.
This is what sustainability means to me: buying high quality items and taking care of them, so they will last a long time.
Not cheap plastic stuff that will inevitably end up in a landfill in a year or so.
Merry Christmas from Germany
Great to hear from ya!! Merry Christmas and you can certainly expect that same kind of sustainability talk on this channel. Cheers 🥾🥾
Great video really enjoyed seeing what you’re doing. The Nicks boots particularly are starting to look fantastic. The patina is unbelievable my idea of giving your boots some Lovin is burying my face in them. Could’ve done without seeing your Chelsea’s.
Thanks so much! 🥾🥾
I’m a chemical operator, and I swear by this stuff to make my boots last longer
Love it man, that's a great review!
Great video Charles! I always enjoy your content.
I am very happy for you reaching out +6K subscribers (well deserved!!).
I watch a lot “dry creek wrangler school” videos, I like a lot his message.
Regarding Boot conditioner, it’s coming home “Bick 4” that I will use in my 2 month old RW 1907.
Well, Merry Christmas everybody!!!
Cheers from Spain!
Merry Christmas mate! I’ve seen some of his stuff too, great character there. Appreciate the kind words and support! 🥾🥾
Chic as in "sheek" as in style.
Those hairdryers are slick though
Kil-tee 😊
Don't forget to mention that the day before, that these were cleaned and let dry for a day
Yeah I try to mention that when I actually clean them, neither of these boots necessarily needed a cleaning on my estimation but certainly good practice! Many conditioners state that they are cleaner/conditioner which will suffice when boots are not terribly dirty. Cheers and Merry Christmas 🎅 🥾🥾
Your vids are always very informative and well done.
Thank you so much, comments like this keep me going! 🥾🥾✝️
I've used the liquid version of the Obenauf, but never the solid LP. Thanks for sharing.
How do you like it? Thanks for watching! 🥾🥾
I've used it on leather jackets but never shoes. It absorbs well and has kept my jackets well conditioned for many years. It does change the color of leather, so I only use it on black leather.
Since my boots are leather lined i use the oil inside and wax outside.
Also i spend a lot of time in the rocky mountains and or fields. I use paracord for shoe laces.
Since i always carry extra paracord for use on just about anything if i ever break a lace (which hasnt happened yet) i have more with me.
Great video thanks again!!
Cheers
Use Kevlar laces. They are very very very tough
@@Tallnerdyguy i guess i should have been a little more specific. The paracord i use is the "high end" which i believe is along the same if not close.
@@va6gkthaskey311 specifically Kevlar or "unbreakable " ss they are stronger than steel by quite a bit
Sounds like you have a great routine down! 👏🥾🥾
@@GentlemansJourney thank you!!
i find the leather oil on the inside helps the break in period as well. Helps save some pain in the long run
What a fantastic channel! Cheers from very near Red Wing, Minnesota .... sub'd!
Great to have ya along! You guys know a thing or two about cold too. I'm here in CO where we hit -4 last night
Buckinbillray that’s where I learned about obenauf’s and Nick’s boots
He is a riot!! Thanks for watching our video.
I used to live in LaVeta Colorado. Not too far from here where you live.
Pass through there often! Cheers man! 🥾🥾
Love the content!
Hey thanks guys! Love your product and you’ll see it in many more conditioner videos. 🥾🥾
Those boots are cool. Very nice
Hey thanks for watching! 🥾🥾
The best product for leather!!!
Love this stuff, thanks for posting
Excelente explicación, saludos.
Appreciate that!! Cheers 🥾🥾
I bought that product didn't like it leaves the Leather to oily It attracts dust
Notice any difference if you let them sit 24th s before wearing? Just curious
You suppose to off the excess bro. Let it soak for a while then whatever is left wipe it. I work in a paper mill so I deal with dust everyday.
We suggest letting it dry for 24 hours and then buffing off excess with horsehair brush.
I watch the japanese cartoons!
and you should too baka
We’ll, thanks for watching my stuff too!!
60 hertz is how the US measures current flow per every second. 60 cycles per second. Simple US electricity!!!
